    Subbed from 1st watched video. A lot we have in common as for having multiple brands of cameras, but your photography is far superior. Im commenting before watching the entire video but the photos are so good I couldn’t wait. Going to check out some more of your work!

    When do you think the x100vi is coming out?

    I would add for street photography, try the dr400 extended dynamic range mode. The dr400 mode, in short, distributes the exposure more evenly thru the exposure of the images, removing the necessity of underexposing for highlights. It does this by requiring you to shoot at iso 640 or higher. This allows the camera to underexpose the hi lights of an image while boosting the mid tones and shadows…. basically what you eventually do in post if you underexposed your images. It does all of these calculations prior to the analog to digital conversion, so it works in RAW!
    The tech behind dr400 Detailed:

    I really enjoyed this video. Would you say it’s good for every day family shots? I bought a canon M50 during lockdown to learn photography with. I got sick of changing lenses all the time and started leaving it behind because I didn’t want to lug everything around. I sold it a couple of months ago and have been waiting for the x100v to come back in stock since. I love the idea of a fixed lens and something that will fit in my handbag. I want something that will be good to capture my children but all the reviews I’ve watched seem to focus on street photography. Thanks 😊

      Recently had this camera and it is amazing for everyday family shots and travel as well!

      The short answer is yes, it is a fabulous camera and more than capable of every day family shots. You are restricted to the 23mm lens however, unless you add the 50mm conversion - which increases the size of the camera. I recently purchased the Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IV. Its actually smaller than the X100V and has a tiny 14-42mm pancake lens. It has great retro looks too - if you like that kind of thing. It is micro four thirds though, but the image stabilisation is fab and it captures great images. I love both, but then I love all cameras 😆

    Very nice video, I like the way you talk and explain things. I can’t look forward to put my hands on a x100v, sadly due to the shortage is not available at my local store at the time.

    Which spot metering mode do you use? Is spot metering activated while using manual mode?

    amazing photos and such a delightful explanation about everything, honestly! loved that "queer without fear" photo in the end of the video, even though it is not "perfect" - but I guess that's what I really like about photography: sometimes the ones that doesn’t turn out perfect are the very best. thanks for sharing both your images and knowledge. wish you the best.

      Thanks Roberto. You're so right about imperfect shots often being the best - Its all about composition and serendipity I suppose. Best wishes, Frank

    Awesome video!! I love my X100V and casue of this video i just learned about the Auto Focus Limiter!!! does that mean i don't have to half press? Will it behave like the Ricoh GR3's Snap Focus?

    • @PerfectPhotoCompany
      @PerfectPhotoCompany  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Didier, thanks for the kind comment. And yes, with the AF Range Limiter you don't have to half press for focus. It simply works like a point and shoot camera which makes it ideal for street shooting. As I mentioned for other types of photography I switch off the AF Range Limiter and focus in the traditional way. Hope this helps. Best wishes, Frank

      @@PerfectPhotoCompany thanks for the reply and confirming my thoughts. Yes it’s not something I would use all the time but great to know it’s there and I think this would be amazing for low light photography where AF would usually struggle

    Nice job!
    I bought a €9 silicon jacket for my X100V (like most of my cameras). Super grip and protects against scrapes.
    It looks like we take similar photos. I grew up in Stockport, a mecca for gritty urban streets. Now I live in SW France .... not so gritty, but I use a nice warm Kodak recipe to enhance the feel (Stockport is an Acros town).

      Hi Lee. I bet you get some great shots in SW France. 'Stockport is an Acros Town' cracked me up 😂 I guess Liverpool is too 🙂
