You always hear the reverse in favor of 'bigger' wheels - 'oh it fits the wheel well better, oh it puts more patch on the ground and handles better' etc. However - 18's (forged at that) means lighter and the thicker tires help offset the ride of a lowered car. Looks really, really good.

Those are nice wheels. I'm waiting on delivery, in about 3 weeks, on a set of 19" forged magnesium monoblock wheels from Litespeed Racing in LA. They are replacements for the forged aluminum wheels on my Nissan 370Z sport and should come in at about 14 lbs apiece, about 9 lbs lighter than the OEM wheels. It should be interesting to see how the handling is affected after the replacement. I used to run Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires on my Z and they were great tires but I wasn't satisfied with the steering precision, as the sidewalls were too flexible for my liking. I put Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2(240) tires not long ago and like the increased firmness better.
They came out with these wheels after I bought my forged arc 8’s, I love my arc 8’s but if they had these wheels when I was looking I woulda bought these. Looking great on the f30 body

There is a clip that connects the fender and front bumper on the front and after going bigger im rubbing on larger bumps and its scraping the tire. Have you encountered this yet? have you shaved down the clip?
Nice wheel choice. I guess I'm a little confused on the sidewall height that you wanted for these 18's. Because my OEM (442) 19" staggered set has the same size sidewall height of these 18's with 40 in the front and 35 in the back. So comfort wise it should be the same.

Unsprung weight calculation is about x4 the ''regular'' weight, so if you save 4 pounds per corners ,its in fact 16 pounds per corners so around 65 pounds !!

Glad to see you went 18 as well! I'm waiting on my Arc 8 profile 3's in the exact configuration you have here. I thought these would be lighter, 17.9 vs 18.2 lbs on the Arc 8 - either way great choice, these look excellent.
Our profile 3 ARC-8s are super light as you noted above, which is part of the reason why they are so popular. Their design is more limited though in terms of spoke and barrel side brake clearance for larger BBKs like Brembo 380mm kits and their inner lip doesn't compare to the forged wheels we offer. These new VS-5RS are stronger, lighter and more feature rich than the ARC-8s but the extra performance comes at a cost. The ARC-8s are still great, affordable wheels and are what I run on my personal car. -Tom

Awd requires less than 1% rolling diameter to keep transfer case happy, this is the reasoning for sidewall and width preferences.

Could definitely run 255 up front the issue then becomes rolling diameter, gotta keep it within 1% on awd models to keep the transfer case happy
