    I use my denix k98 for almost 2 years. It has been through about 80 small private events and 7 big events, and in every event small or big i cycle the bolt about 100 times per event and it has held up perfectly, not a thing had been broken:D I dont know why all of the people that buy em break the bolt...

    • @wardetectorist
      @wardetectorist  4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      WW2 Explorer that’s great to hear! I guess it kind of varies indeed, I’ve know people who have broken a denix m1 carbine on thier first re-enactment with it and people who’s denix guns survive hell for years...

    love the professional style and the new background!
    a few tips: you might wanna keep the intro before the actual review a bit shorter...after all people are clicking on it mostly to get to this part of the video.
    Also the changes of the camera angle make the video feel more professional but you should edit out the parts where you get up from your chair in between angle changes.
    Thanks for the very inormative review, I was planning on getting me a Denix K98 aswell!

    Thanks for the great review, this saves me some frustration. I already got a Denix StG44 for a cosplay and it's fine for that purpose. Recently I inherited a sizable collection of blades (swords and knives), among them an original Kar98 bayonet, and I was considering adding a Denix replica to display with it (hanging the rifle on the wall with the bayonet mounted). I guess I can still do this, but hang the bayonet below the rifle, not fixed to it.

      As far as i know its allowed, but solefully for historical purposes, as soon as you start showing any political or ethnical reasons to do so it’s not allowed

    Did you use black shoe polish to stain the rifle?? And I've also been having a problem with my rifle where the bolt will twist when you pull it back and I have to twist it back to chamber it, I'm not sure if yours has this problem. It's the end part with the safety piece that twists, not the whole bolt.

    • @wardetectorist
      @wardetectorist  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did! Lightly sanded it and then applied it, mine doesn’t have that specific problem but I have noticed my safety is very stiff😅

    • @wardetectorist
      @wardetectorist  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great as a wall hanger! Even more so if you decide to age it a little, normally it is able to withstand some use but I don’t recommend cycling the action to much (especially if it’s not properly lubricated)

    • @wardetectorist
      @wardetectorist  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      DavidTheMemester 668 in my case it was 2 pieces of the bolt separating wich caused it to fall out, I fixed this recently by glueing them back together, in most cases if your carefull with them it shouldn’t be a problem :)

    It’s almost criminal that someone has no other alternative but to purchase one of these because a real one is illegal 😞. ... I consider myself to be extremely lucky to own a real K98 and G43. Out of curiosity, can the Denix wooden stock be altered to accept original parts? ....or could you use the Denix butt plate on an original stock? ...I’m just wondering how far Denix went with making the replica incompatible with ANYTHING pertaining to the original firearm.

    • @wardetectorist
      @wardetectorist  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      my thoughts exactly, it is possible for someone here to buy them deactivated, but an original functioning one together with the permits, classes and everything else you need to do in order to legally buy one will easily set you back thousands...the stock itself is not usable because it ends where the barrel band is and the wood beyond that is a seperate piece, i think the buttplate might be usable tho!

    • @kurtwk
      @kurtwk 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@wardetectorist ...Maybe the butt plate? 😆 I appreciate the reply ! I guess I can’t really turn my nose up at anyone who can’t get a real one because the laws prevent them from doing so, though I can’t imagine the market for them here in the USA being very big. There’s honestly no excuse for a re-enactor here in the US to use anything but a real one. They SHOULD know that re-enacting will cost a bit of money so they should just save up the 5 or $600 for a nice Russian Capture k98 ( perfect for re-enacting purposes ). I think if I seen someone show up to a re-enactment around here with a Denix k98, I’d probably smack it out of their hands and let them use my real k98 😝

      @wardetectorist  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@kurtwk I completely understand😂 at least I’m glad I don’t live in the uk..waaay worse there😅 the only use I’ve heard and seen of denix items in the US is as wall fillers, for starting collectors or for filming purposes where they get destroyed😅 but your right tho it’s not a cheap hobby to begin with so cheaping out on one of the most important items of your impression makes no sense indeed
