One Tree Hammock Camping

I built this stand for one tree hammock camping because trees are not always just where you want them, so took matters into my own hands and built a hammock stand to support one end, using a hazel stick and some rope I had in my pack....Will it work? I know, you have to hump it around with the rest of your gear, but makes for a good walking staff, or hide it in a hazel stand or a bush if you visit the same place regularly, then only have to carry the rope.
