The horse clearly knows not to get close enough to actually hit her. Yes some of it was dangerous like The saddle role and yes she should have toned down the playing a bit just in case but their body language is both calm and relaxed. Tim Tam I agree. People think horses are mean & dangerous. But that is not their true nature. Horses are very intelligent, loving, loyal, trusting, funny, and playful. Any horse that is mean was usually made that way by ill treatment from humans. A horse that has had good rearing from humans will never intentionally hurt anyone. TRUST. Trust is the key. I trusted my life to my horse many times. Ivm still breathing because she saved me from my own stupidity. Oh, and I saved her from death on one occasion. Trust & love....they go both ways. Guys, that was NOT whip she was holding, and even if it was, there was no way she could of been hurting the two ponies on this video. On the first scene, where the huge pony (idk the name or breed!) has the saddle on and rolls over, and she taps the whip/stick/whatever near him. She was trying to PREVENT him from rolling over. The horse/pony did NOT look tired to me by the way it looked so happy running around, and the girls seemed to be having an awesome time. Naturally, no argument needs to be here, do they? No. Because both the girls and the ponies or horses looked like they were having a fun time. Anyway. OMFG THAT FWIPPEH.
Ok guys, I've been reading some comments and this is what I have to say. She is not teaching her horse disrespect, this is exactly how horses play together, whether they are at the top or bottom of the herd's totem pole. Yes, she could've gotten hurt but a. why the hell do you care so much? you don't know her. b.being a horse owner I can assume she knows how to predict a horse's movement, especially given as she seems to ACTUALLY be involved with them and not just board them and only come out to excersise. and c. I consider you a lot more stupid than her for not learning to handle your horse when his sass comes out, she understands the herd mentality which is the smartest thing you can do as a horseperson. So why the hell are you all hating?
cultural reasons especially if they are British because horse riding is taught differently e.g the rider must be in charge at all times even when not riding other wise you will not win any competitions or banned entirely. this is due to judges expecting to see total obedience from the horse even if mistakes are the riders fault. i know this because my mum owns a horse which she used to compete in showjumping with.
pokekitty1 Maybe you should watch some of her other videos, this girl HAS total control over her horse when she wants to. What she is able to do with her horses is actually quite amazing and very few riders are able (like maybe 1%) to achieve that. She is an actual horse trainer and her methods seem to work perfectly for what she competes in (dressage and in natural horsemanship)

I am NOT a horsey person but even I could see the love and fun here. some of it looked risky, but I suspect that these horses know exactly where their hooves are when they kick out, and know where she is precisely, and it's their game. Of course she knows them intimately too. it's a joy to see your relationships and enjoyment together. thank you
This young lady is a very gifted trainer. Watch her other videos. The rapport she has with these horses is incredible. Her horses are responsive, joyful, and attentive, but not robotic. I would let her train my horses anytime. She knows what she is doing.
You guys are nuts. This was a darling display of fun , trust and play. Say what you will , it clearly shows you do not know horses and they are with other horses and human best friends. It is amazing there are so many "horse experts " as soon as they watch a video ...lol I am, a 4 time AQHA world champion - 1 time APHA world champion , 12 Reserves and 21 National titles... Been training professionally since I was 13 and it is now 30 years later. Was some of the things dangerous ? SURE! Was some of the things probably not a good idea? SURE! But nothing different than brothers wrestling in the living room at hard play. Kids and horses sometimes do not always do the right thing but that horse clearly loves her , wants to play like he would with another horse and if he didnt respect her he wouldnt even pay her a bit of attention OR he would have different body language... You guys all need to take a chill pill and celebrate in the fun between a girl and her horse. Look at the rest of her videos and you can not deny the respect the horse has for her as well as she has for her horse. Excellent trainer and an amazing display of true love and understanding of the horse.

I can put in my two cents, which is that the woman had a true connection with the critters and was in no more danger than had she been asleep in bed. But I am not an authority. I've only been a critter lover for almost seven decades. Dogs, horses, the occasional unusual "pet", I've spent countless hours amongst animals. I put 100% faith in my ability to tell when an animal MIGHT be a danger to me. Even wild animals are more likely to be curious than dangerous. I wish MAN were as easily readable.

This video made me sad - sad that the days I got to play with my horse like that are long over. That bond, that trust is amazing. For the lady who said he tried to kick her, that she shouldnʻt scream, that the horse rolled with the saddle on. No, no and no. She stopped the roll with a touch of her crop, I really think she knows how loud a voice he can tolerate, he was frolicking, not kicking her. The bond between them was palpable.

I have been working with horses for 52 years and playing like that w any horse is asking for trouble. They have different personalities and moods and all it is going to take is a bad mood and someone will get hurt.
Yeah she's clueless you can tell from the way she has those horses and ponies focused, listening and responding to her every single word, how she's careful to keep herself positioned so she didn't get kicked and how playful and happy they all are in a field where she even left the gate open...OMG as if. Then there's other videos of her trick-training them to stand up on their hind legs and bow and rear on command... and another I saw of her gently introducing a horse to water for the first time and oh my God she was SO crap the horse ended up pawing and splashing and rolling in it and she didn't even care and he had a saddle on and was ROLLING IN WATER! Shilas has his lad out in every video as well and she doesn't even do anything about it but posts videos of his lad dangling there like insulation pipe in a disused block of flats. God she's shit.
too cute, horses of all breeds are fun to play with on foot as much as in the saddle its my opinon but as a horse person you gain so much more of a horses trust and love when you work with them on the ground and you truly become one.

This is without doubt my favourite horse vid! It seems there is a switch in it’s mind that is always listening and it can turn from a very ‘ordered’ trot or dance to crazy in an instant. And the horse seems to be the same! lol ;-)
Yes she's definitely a trainer, although the Haflinger is quite intelligent & can be very playful & mischievous like the Gypsy Vanner. Very cute video. I think many a novice horse person may consider a purchase after viewing this.

I'm not saying that Shilas' behaviour isn't dangerous, but with horses comes danger. No matter what you do with horses, there will be a risk, no matter how quiet the horse is. One thing I have noticed about equestrians (I am on myself), is that we are so judgemental! Who the hell are we, who have the right to judge others. If Eva gets hurt, she gets hurt. I'm sure she's aware of the risk, she is an amazing trainer.. Go watch her other videos. Before we go off to others telling them how bad they are, we should judge ourselves. In the wild, this is how horses have fun! He is not being aggressive, he's being playful. You are all telling her to not encourage this "bad behaviour". But think, if she went and punished Shilas, you would all go crazy! This is natural behaviour, and i know that personally, I'd rather see a horse and owner with an amazing bond like this, being happy, than the horse miserable in a muddy paddock and starving. I have been working with horses for 52 years and playing like that w any horse is asking for trouble. They have different personalities and moods and all it is going to take is a bad mood and someone will get hurt.

Yeah she's clueless you can tell from the way she has those horses and ponies focused, listening and responding to her every single word, how she's careful to keep herself positioned so she didn't get kicked and how playful and happy they all are in a field where she even left the gate open...OMG as if.
Then there's other videos of her trick-training them to stand up on their hind legs and bow and rear on command... and another I saw of her gently introducing a horse to water for the first time and oh my God she was SO crap the horse ended up pawing and splashing and rolling in it and she didn't even care and he had a saddle on and was ROLLING IN WATER!
Shilas has his lad out in every video as well and she doesn't even do anything about it but posts videos of his lad dangling there like insulation pipe in a disused block of flats.

too cute, horses of all breeds are fun to play with on foot as much as in the saddle its my opinon but as a horse person you gain so much more of a horses trust and love when you work with them on the ground and you truly become one.

Yes she's definitely a trainer, although the Haflinger is quite intelligent & can be very playful & mischievous like the Gypsy Vanner. Very cute video. I think many a novice horse person may consider a purchase after viewing this.

For all those people saying things like, 'it's dangerous', 'she's teaching her horse to misbehave' and things like that...please, just stop it. Some comments below are disgusting!
I'm not saying that Shilas' behaviour isn't dangerous, but with horses comes danger. No matter what you do with horses, there will be a risk, no matter how quiet the horse is.
One thing I have noticed about equestrians (I am on myself), is that we are so judgemental! Who the hell are we, who have the right to judge others. If Eva gets hurt, she gets hurt. I'm sure she's aware of the risk, she is an amazing trainer.. Go watch her other videos.
Before we go off to others telling them how bad they are, we should judge ourselves.
In the wild, this is how horses have fun! He is not being aggressive, he's being playful.
You are all telling her to not encourage this "bad behaviour". But think, if she went and punished Shilas, you would all go crazy! This is natural behaviour, and i know that personally, I'd rather see a horse and owner with an amazing bond like this, being happy, than the horse miserable in a muddy paddock and starving.
Go ahead and hate if you want, but please just be more considerate next time. Possibly, if you don't find it so difficult, comment in a more polite way. No one is going to listen to some stranger over the internet calling them words I won't even type.
