One thing I’ve really appreciated in the Shadow Temple and Arbiters Grounds is that it shows how the Royal Family isn’t too squeaky clean either. They’ve been in charge of some pretty horrendous things in the past as well. Excellent storytelling without too many words needed. It’s badly needed in newer Zelda games.
I think the fire sanctuary from SS has a storytelling from it's architecture, design, puzzles and i think is meant to be the original keep from Eldin the dragon
TOTK really need a Shadow Temple especially The Depths it's the perfect place for something Dark Spooky and Mysterious I am frustrated they didn't do anything like that
this dungeon terrified me as a kid. so eerie and unsettling vibes all over. well designed for a map meant to serve as a grim, blood soaked and horrifying discovery and reminder of the Shiekahs bloody & brutal dedication to guarding the Hyrulian Family.
I love how the song play in progression as Link would progress through the dungeon itself! From the beginning you hear Link play the Nocturne Of Shadow, light the torches and enter the temple. All the way to the end when the song slowly fades out only to reveal the bongos getting louder and louder... He made it to Bongo Bongo.
3:25... I never before realized that this song is a play on Zelda's Lullaby, but I can now never un-hear it. This is horribly unsettling, and I love it.
The entire dungeon follows the progression of the dungeon itself, and towards the end of it you have to play Zelda's lullaby to make a floating ship with bells travel to the last part of the dungeon, the part that bongo bongo resides in. In a stroke of genius, Fingelion put zelda's lullaby in, then had bells ring like in the game before the ship starts to move and then the drums get more and more intense, BY THE NAME OF HYLIA I LIKE THIS TRACK.
Of course, but I was mainly just getting at the first 3 notes of the Shadow Temple music just being a dark twist of Zelda's Lullaby. Sleep well, Princess. Sleep while the Sheikah quietly deal with those that threaten your kingdom.
2:35 You can hear the guillotines moving up and down in the background AWW THE DETAILS No seriously the progression through the dungeon is incredible From link playing the nocturn of shadow to enter the temple to Zelda’s lullaby and the chiming bells on the fairy ride
Great rendition. I like the balance between ambiance and the instruments. Even with how low they sound, I can still hear the drums and harpsichord clearly.
You're a genius. This is wildly eerie. You've truly captured the fear; realizing your fantasy world is built on war and blood. This is a beautiful piece.
The atmosphere of this version is just creepy af, a lot more intense than the ost! This actually gave me chills! Great job on this piece, hope you make more of these!
i love this...instead of just being a "scary loop", i can actually hear the Progression through the temple...the silence, broken only by a single bell, to represent the Ghost Ship; the bongos getting louder toward the end, to represent the Boss... the only 'bad news' is that i doubt ill ever hear This Version in a Nintendo-Official release, but id love to have a modded version of the game that uses This music instead...
Ya know the temple itself didn’t scare me as a kid. But the things inside it did. - dead hand - wall masters making the creepy ass sound as they drop from above - redeads coming out of coffins
Same lmao, I had to put this game down for almost two weeks because both the Bottom of the Well and Temple scared the absolute hell out of me. The monsters were horrifying enough on their own, Dead Hand especially, but what really stopped me from playing was the creepy ass music. Pretty sure I was afraid of the dark for awhile before I finally got brave enough to best this deathtrap. As a kid this Temple was he bane of my existence, but as an adult it's one of my favorite Temples. Plus the theme is perfect for listening to during Spooky Month.
This is really cool and also made me just realized something interesting. I think this is the only dungeon theme with drums.... Bongo Bongo is the boss... Was he playing with the music the whole time D:
How on earth does Link not question Impa about the shadow temple or the well being torture chambers?? Can you imagine Link saying "Say Impa, I went into this well, and there were these weird long neck monsters that spazzes up to people, and zombie things in there. Did you turn these criminals into these things?" "Eh, lets not tell the public who are completely oblivious to this".
Zelda's OST's are pretty much always incredible, but I miss when Nintendo has enough guts to include something like this which is basically just dark ambient with hardly any melody at all. May as well be a Lustmord track or something. Fantastic ambience.
The beginning and I think another part of the theme bares a leitmotif from Zelda's Lullaby in the original game; this is meant to symbolize the Hyrulean Royal Family's ties to the dungeon.
Now that the redeads and some of the horror elements of Zelda is back in the new game form what I heard they should bring back stuff like this like the shadow temple and the bloody history

I think they overacheived creating ocarina of time and havnt did since.
You'll never see another real Zelda game again, it'll just be crap like TOTK or BOTW.

Music's well designed for a jail setting especially our pitch dark basement and mechanical rooms

They had to do whatever to protect the royal family.
Great to listen to during a dark walk in the woods on a foggy night!

These "Immersive Versions" of the temple themes are so nice!
whoa this is one of the coolest things ive ever heard
These "immersive versions" are SERIOUSLY rad. If you're taking requests, I'd love to see a water temple one :)
based. there could be occasional droplet sounds and it would be so epic.
The water temple sucks but the music is nice
@@johnpett1955 I like it personally
@@johnpett1955 Yeah regardless of how most people like the temples, I've met next to no one who doesn't think they nailed the music
I can't wait to hear the spider scream at you every five seconds 😂

I like how its starts quiet and are in the background, also the subtle cries for help was a nice touch. 10/10 very spooky ❤

The only thing missing is a redead shriek out of nowhere. But the lullaby and bongos make up for it
That'd literally give me a heart attack....
Mentalist! 😢
If they ever make a switch remake, they should hire you you work alongside Koji Kondo to work on the soundtrack. This is legit!!!
The details in these immersive versions are just.....I don't have words for how amazing they are! You don't miss anything!
When you walked alone to the underground storehouse to fetch some soda when you were young
Ya know the temple itself didn’t scare me as a kid. But the things inside it did.
- dead hand

for me it was getting jumpscared by those skull baskets you have to throw bombs into. the 3DS version made them way less unsettling unfortunately

@@RedHatGuyYT Yeah, OoT 3D was too bright. The changes they made to Dead Hand were a huge disappointment too.
Totally cool!
The bells from the boat!
Listening to this on loop while I develop
That was quite... immersive
so glad this was recommended to me! this is so amazing! I would love to hear an immersive version of the water temple theme next :3
Very certainly one of the best Shadow Temple cover
Dear lord this is terrifying.
So glad I found this just amazing best orchestration of the theme so far in my opinion😍 spirit temple next I hope

A nicely eerie enhancement!

This is not exactly true, the fire temple has percussion.

Wow, this is amazing! I want more haha
I could be wrong, but the Depths in TOTK have nothing on this place.....
finally the temple that is my top aswell as the water temple and forest temple
Love it !! Still stuck in this temple tho 😭
Two years later, have you made it out of this horrifying place?
@@lifadysi9418omg yes 🤣 i finished the game as well, and started Majoras Mask (stuck in the ice temple…… 😂)
this is so creepy in the dark at nighttime
This makes me so uncomfortable, I love it!
This needs a ten hour version!
Awesome man cheers
This is tight!!

what a HQ version holy
It's meant to be scary but it actually soothes me

I have never made it to the shadow temple, due to the more boringness of being an adult :( but its great! good job
Try again! You can do it! ^_^ 20 mins a day and you'll be done in a month or less!
I sometimes like beating the game as fast as I can. I think you should do it.
literally dark ambience
