What a treat for that mum and her kiddos to learn about the locks and to ride through one. You've undoubtedly instilled a lifetime memory in them and perhaps created future boaters. 😊
Good to see Grt. Hayward, when we had the boat, we moored there for a couple of years, well before that new marina was built, just a little way down the Staffs and Worc. And yes Tixal Wide is lovely, enjoyed many a happy hour there fishing. Take care, PMh
There are some beautiful well kept gardens along this cruise, thcoubtrysideen the beauty of the countryside sculptured by nature, I bet those children will be replaying that experience over and over. A very enjoyable and relaxing vlog, thanks once again.
Thanks Gary and Nicky for taking us along on this lovely cruise and it was brilliant that you gave a little family some great memories of helping you through a lock and got a ride onboard Chugabug. I hope that you are all doing well, have you ever mentioned that you don't like the rain Gary? Lol. Take care and all the best. Stevie
Rain can be miserable and dreary BUT you don't have to shovel it out of the way! It has the ability to run away downslope. We are headed into winter here in Canada.
Hi Gary and nicki, my shared boat is based in Great Haywood and planning to be on board next month. Maybe we will see you on your way back from Burton.
Good morning guys hope all is well thanks for the video.. About to set off down the Trent as soon as it’s light enough so glad I have a heated cockpit! I hate the cold. Cheers Alan.
Just watching you both on Tele now guys, you do look cozy under that hoodie Nicky. I’m tired of the rain here in Bermuda too Gary, it’s been doing so for weeks on end.
We did an reconnaissance at great haywood and seen you on the water point. We were moored at Rugeley but went home for two days. Looks like we missed you coming past. NB Zenith :)
@@GaryCaptainPhillips No. We have had the boat 4 years but it used to always be cc,ing on the shroppie. We seen you on the leicester arm a few years back. Just after the welford arm and you were heading with friends towards foxton. I think we are heading down the staffs and worc and maybe onto the shroppie. When the locks reopen we may head to the Llangollen while its a bit quieter :)
Absolutely love your blogs and watching the pups growing up and the kids learning so much from your journeys. Where did either of you originate from before you took to the canals?
Yes, so exciting for those kiddies - making memories. I was excited to help a narrowboat through a lock at age 70! Wondering where you guys are going to end up at Christmas - maybe not frozen in this year?

I hope so, hopefully it'll bring new life to the waterways
