Lovely vlog Gary. Great Haywood is one of my favourite places to go on the canal, so picturesque. Little Dixie looks so cute, especially in Nicky's pocket.......so sweet. Phil
Lily and Noah are so very lucky to have you Gary in their lives. I just love to see how you pour into them and how Nicky also gives so much of herself in homeschooling them. Never, ever discount the positive influence you having upon these two precious children ! I loved watching Lily blow out her birthday candles, thanks for this. God Bless Your little family.
Dave & Chris Taylor Monday Sept. 5th. Wife (Chris) and I were walking the towpath along the Trent and Mersey at Gt Haywood when Gary walked past us on his way to check the situation at the waterpoint. As he passed I commented that I love his vlogs at which point he took the time to walk back to Chugabug and chat with us, even though he had other things to do. Nicky introduced us to Dixie and we had a nice chat before parting company. Kicking myself that I hadn't taken a photo I was pleased to see Chugabug moored at the waterpoint on our return journey and Gary took a couple of 'group' selfies of us on my phone. Sunday Sept. 11th Chris and I were at Gt Haywood Classic car and Motorcycle show on our 60 year old bike (owned and ridden for 53 years) when we bumped into Gary & Nicky plus friends plus Dixie, we had another chat before they left to find the car section of the show. Lovely couple, lovely friends, lovely boat and lovely dogs. They made time both days to chat to a couple of 'professional' towpath walkers who pound the beat along the Trent & Mersey, Staffs & Worcs and Coventry canals. As a footnote. Anglo Welsh staff at Gt Haywood are excellent as stated in one of the comments below. We have hired dayboats on a number of occasions from there to practice going through locks just for the fun of it, in fact the last time was the 13th Sept and the guy who did the hand over was the same guy who carried out the repairs to Chugabug in this vlog.
Aww it was a pleasure to meet you guys ad of course it was no trouble at all to have a friendly chat. It's always nice to chat to people and share our experiences. Thank you so much both for this wonderful comment x
Hi Gary, I am a new subscriber. I am totally new to this long boat living. I have never seen anything like it. But I just want to tell you how much I am enjoying your blogs. I love your commentary and the scenery to which you get to enjoy is amazing. Safe travels and thank you for sharing your journey.
Thanks Gary, for taking us along on this lovely cruise with great presentation by yourself. It's great to see that you and your lovely crew are doing well. Take care and all the best. Stevie

😆we were stuck in Colwich lock with jammed gates for about 4 hours some years back! You can just imagine the queue top and bottom by the time we got out!!😁. Every new boat arrival brought another’wise advisor’ as to how to get out!! I think you guys are maybe going to consider a bigger boat for all of you, winter May be a bit messy with all those paws plus 4 pairs of wellies 😉. Joan
Gary good vlog sorry to hear of your troubles but now they are fixed up you should be good to go sounds like you all had a good time that makes for a happy boat. Ok mate take care of your lovely crew and your new member of the four leg crew take care see you al in the next vlog Ed 40 S of Vegas
Another interesting vlog, sorry to hear of your troubles, which I know you’ve mentioned to me, didn’t realise you had to stay over the usual allocated time. All the best Alan
Lovely to see little Dixie settling into boat dog life. I’m sure our Jasper and Dale are in cahoots, walking off and pretending not to hear when they are called back 😂. We moored in that exact same spot overlooking Shugborough a few days ago. Now passing through Penkridge. Perhaps we will catchup 😊

Just wondering Gary. You said quite sometime ago when Nicky came aboard that her boat went into a marina for the duration. Seems expensive as it’s not being used and a drain on your finances or have I got it all wrong. Great vlog yet again.
Gary. That was Philip Green, the Top Shop guy, with you earlier, wasn't it? BTW, that looks like a razor blade attached to your cap. Peaky Blinders? Jeff
Having had no less than Four Covid jabs, I suddenly realized that I had NOT had any regular colds (the type that I would usually have in Fall and spring) for the last two years!
@@GaryCaptainPhillips i believe Fran on Floating Our Boat is quite an elderberry expert. Glad your boat is tip top now and also looks beautiful. Take care. Leigh

Hi Gary another great Vlog why can’t you say what the boat problem was ? Xx

GG says woof to Dale and Primrose and Dixie. Welcome to the family little one!
Gary, my wife and I really like how you have such a positive outlook on life. "It's all good".😃
Aww thank you, I can't change anything so it is what it is

Hello from ALASKA!
Hello from the Shropshire Union Canal
YOU MUST GET UP TO THE LANCASTER CANAL...NO LOCKS EXCEPT IF YOU GO DOWN TO GLASSON BASIN...THE HARDEST BIT IS CROSSING THE RIVER RIBBLE....
Yes we aim to do that one day
💖💖
Having had no less than Four Covid jabs, I suddenly realized that I had NOT had any regular colds (the type that I would usually have in Fall and spring) for the last two years!
I ironic that we haven't either but we've both had the dreaded Covid
Yy
The elder berries are mildly toxic (but you need to eat a bushel of them to start suffering).
And we're boiling and crushing them too matey, we still haven't got round to doing it yet lol
@@GaryCaptainPhillips i believe Fran on Floating Our Boat is quite an elderberry expert. Glad your boat is tip top now and also looks beautiful. Take care. Leigh
Yes we've been in touch with Fran
