Krik don't worry about the type of space you have for filming your videos. Your videos are so organic that you could film or anywhere because the content and story of your videos is what matters not be type of studio you film in.
Great video. Love the "use what you have" and "this works for me" aspects. Echoing what others have said about putting handles on those files and getting a good file card/brush.
Please do film in the studio! Not only am I certain that the video will look as cool as usual, but also that the context and the core of all your videos are the best around! Would be absolutely awesome to see your "home-environment" and what you sort of do with your work off-camera!
You could also put 2 layers of leather on the strop to help with the convex profile. Just an idea. You have really good ideas using the tools at hand. Ray.....Oklahoma
Great video brosef. I really like about axes that you dont have to be as delicate when modifying edges and such. Much more forgiving. Those files will cut for ages yet, a bit of rust is no bother until it flattens the ridges.
That little bit of Rust on your files ain't gonna hurt anything on them. I would get some handles and put on them tho. I had one of them bite me years ago. I got the Tang stick in the palm of my hand while filing. It Hurt Bad.
As long as your files cut pretty evenly along the length of them I wouldn't worry about the rust. A shot of wd40 & a wire brush would remove most of it. Good vid. Thanks!

Cheap handle u can make Take a golf ball counter sink it put in a bolt so file will stay in an get u a file card to keep them clean

You could dip your files in diluted sulphuric acid for a little bit to resharpen them and remove that rust.
I have Nicholson files from my dad that are well over 50 years old and still sharp. just used. file brush to clean off the rust and oil them.

If they are USA made Nicholson files you should keep them because the new ones are not very good...
You need a good file brush, clean them right up!
The bastard file that I used to sharpen my ax has had rust on it for years and I still use it. I don't think it matters that much.
You need to use a file card.
