If you enjoy an actors` performance (and maybe even pay for it) well knowing s/he's a rapist, a kiddy diddler or a murderer...then that's dubious at best from a moral standpoint.
That's like disregarding anything Hitler has done and hanging one of his artpieces in your livingroom...you will still somewhat get associated to a certain stance on Hitler even if you claim to only be enjoying the art...catch my drift? (extreme example)
Like can you really support having Gary Oldman in your game if he was for example known for torturing/killing little girls by the dozen in his basement? It's a really tough thing to defend.

+Gabriel Fortunato I believe it is by Geoff Zelini. He is scoring the music for Squadron 42, to give it a contrasted feel and to leave Pedro Macedo Camacho free to score for Star Citizen proper. Both are fantastic, wonderful composers.
Though I'm not certain about this piece as I don't know when he was brought onboard. Certainly the "Meet the Old Man" teaser trailer is his, and that sounds very similar.

+Lyonard Maduro Confirmed. The composer is Geoff Zanelli (this is on his site). He is doing Squadron 42, and Pedro Macedo Camacho is doing Star Citizen universe. Both are bloody wonderful-we're lucky to have them. :)

Haha ! Pretty much . Though in a few more years I might lose interest varying on the content that is released . I know what you're getting at . They are taking a long time on making this game though I was always a firm believer that human beings should not be forced to a deadline . In fact Star Citizen will be more so a simulator than your average game game . So to say they can take as long as they want with a simulator game . Long as its not Final fantasy or some other game like that . Though Star citizen will most likely be outdated in next generation by the time it's actually done . So I totally do see your point ! :-)

I like cars true but there is no special code for rendering AMD cards. They are using the cry engines renderer for the most part.

AMD has mantle and is one of the architects of Vulcan. both of those graphic APIs will improve the performance of the AMD graphics cards and not so much Nvidia. Neither of them have been implemented in SC yet. They are going to support DirectX 12 and Vulkan are being worked on. The rending engine is a slightly customized version of the Crysis 4th gen engine. It's Still using openGL and directx 11. They are developing and testing on both Nvidia and AMD cards

+DrunkardCow, Remember that this is real-time rendering, and by that standard it's probably the best facial animation tech out there right now. On their facial animation tech video however they also showcased a pre-rendered character (which you typically see in most AAA-titles) just to show what the tech is capable of and it was almost impossible to distinguish her from a real person.
Unfortunately current computer hardware isn't powerful enough to deal with all that on top of all the other features Star Citizen and Squadron 42 are bringing in like procedural damage, full-scale 1:1 procedural planets, extremely high texture quality (up to 16k), extremely advanced physics simulations, including local physics grids, etc. etc.

For those complaining about the voice, he's obviously doing a General Patton inspired voice. Have you heard General Patton speak? The real General Patton, not Hollywood? His voice was tinny, and scratchy as hell. Want to know what else? If you're talking about his voice, that means there's something distinctive, something *memorable* about this character.

Agreed. The voice is really good. The script could use a little improvement (the last sentence is really weak) but overall I think this is one of the best clips (of our limited view) to come out of sq42.

Jesus, Cow, talk about being a naysayer. I'm happy that you're a skeptic but you don't have to come down into the comments and ruin the mood.
If it were not running in real time, some graphics would indeed have been improved. It is made so every player can render cutscenes in realtime, potentially with their own character design in it. That is usually the reason to do so. To be able to modify the cutscenes in slight ways that that increase the overall immersion and do not make you feel as if you are playing in one straight line that you cannot deviate from.

I don't understand why everyone is complaining about his voice. I thought it sounded pretty damn good for the situation.
His voice does not fit the character's apparent physical age. CR could not even get that right. Not saying that the voice acting is bad, it's just the model does not fit the voice. Not that it matters anymore, today, 2023.

The game takes so much time that I decided to creat the Star Citizen universe on Stellaris in order to feel the UEE
SPACECRUISER96 it dosen't take "too much time" realy. it is by any means actually developing realy fast for a AAA new IP game. a studio lien rockstar took over 20years of modifications on their engine and 3 games (which are, code wise, almost the same) to acheive the level of detail GTA 5 has. SC and sq42 is a new IP, with a new engine. so no, them taking 8/9 years to develop is far from too much.

2.5 is going well, 3.0 drops and it'll already be better than most games on the market today. This is coming from a naysayer who called this vaporware up until about 3 weeks ago.

Bioware please take notice this is what facial animations are and this was 2 years ago.....you have no leg to stand on
Allerum well, the facials were a consequence of the dialogue system. this is mo cap and bioware chose to not go this way and frankly I understand why(they don't have the same budget, nor the same time, and the publishers don't want to delay a game for the solo, because it is not what give them money). but their biggest mistake was to develop the game on their side and don't oversight the development of the animations they gave to a third party. SC also have a company, 3Lateral, develop the characters faces, and characters customization. but they always comunicated with them, and they made sure that what was developed was the same quality as the rest of the game. and oh boy do their tech is awesome. the lighting engine is simply the best, and the huge mo cap work done by the team over 4 years allowed the artists to poses a huge amount of data and faces to animate the verse with.
Then how come the facial animations in fucking KOTOR ONE are better than Andromeda?
