Thanks for tuning into yet another one of my videos! In today's video I install the first ever BMW M2 GTS tail lights on youtube. I know some people have already installed the GTS tail lights on their M2s, but from what I know this is the first install video. I think the M2 GTS tail lights look absolutely amazing. There are a few downsides, but the upsides definitely outweigh any possible negative. Thank you again for watching and I hope you have an amazing week!

I got these in back in June for my M2 and although I really like the way they look, the red tint of the lens was not red enough. Looks fine in photos, but in person I thought the lens itself was a bit too magenta. I ended up selling them and I'm gonna try again with the clear lens version at the risk of them looking a little JDM. The newer ones have a red startup sequence (instead of the blue) but honestly it wasn't that big of a deal.
Hey bro! Yeah, it's the exact same with the ones I've got as well. I've actually seen videos of the clears on vice city nightcrawler (youtube channel) and they look pretty good. Think you'll like them

Vice City nightcrawler did it first in the states like 2 weeks ago but he didn't post an install video only a short and he has the clears taillights which I think look better than the red but to each their own. Yours also looks dope bro.

Interested to see the quality. This is a good honest vid. I appreciate your mention of the luminosity. I'm undecided if I'd do the same on my Comp.
The quality is actually pretty good I'd say.. If you're worried about them being too dim, I'd say they're acceptable (can be seen clearly at night) but definitely not as bright as our OEM ones.

They look awesome. I've always wanted to install GTS tail lights on my OG M2. I put the shadowline. I really hesitate now to change them again.
Thank you! If you like the slight bit darker shadow line lights, these are also a bit darker.. But the OEM regular & shadow line lights are still awesome looking lights

They look sick!! I'm thinking of getting the GTS lights but I'm just worried on how it would perform.
Is the OEM brakes and signal lights brighter than the GTS or around the same? How's the reverse lights during the day?
Thank you bro! The turn signals are very similar I'd say, but the brake lights are noticeably dimmer. At night they're very clear though. The reverse lights are dimmer, but clearly visible day and night
does it look cooler and btw is it legal in the EU?

I saw the guy advertise this thing like crazy on the FB groups. If you can do another follow up video couple of months later that’ll be very much appreciated. I’m still hesitant on the quality and long term durability.
Hey bro! I'll almost definitely do a follow up video in the future. If not I'll add it into one of my videos where it makes sense. So far the quality is great, but can't speak about the durability. If I notice anything going wrong with them I'll respond to your comment again as well.
@@collectingms3803 Sounds good appreciate it!!! :) It's good to see at least 1 alternative, I know our OEM lights are prone to hairline cracks around the edges leading to condensation. I had both mine replaced under warranty now that I don't have warranty if it happens again I hope this is a solid alternative.
@@CastleRockable Just saw this now my bad. I've had the same issue with my OEM tail lights as well. The new pair seemed to be great for the year I've had them now though. I just noticed some condensation in the GTS lights and was looking for this comment to tell you. I'm gonna see what I can do to seal them better. Hopefully it's not the case with all pairs of the GTS lights

Where did you get the carbon rear reflector trims?
I saw one manufacturer that had them but long sold out.
I got them from AA Concepts Co. Unfortunately I think that's the same site you've been looking at as they've been sold out since (about a year now). I think there are some other versions being sold on Ebay, but I'm not 100% sure

AA Concepts is where I was looking too. Waitlist I guess. Though I've seen a cool wrap that incorporates them into the design.

Hey! With Bimmercode you should be able to increase the brightness of your front and rear lights. Maybe give that a try to increase brightness?

@@player1111ful no, they just stopped working. I got this in 2020 for my 428i and first the right side and now non is working.
Is there a way to turn off the blue sequence light?

Hey bro! Unfortunately it doesn't seem like they use bulbs. I know the OEM M4 GTS tail lights use OLED strips and it looks like these do too, but possibly with a dimmer setup
Finally got them to work! Had to use bimmercode and code the taillights from Halogen to LED! THEY LOOK GREAT!

Hey bro! Unfortunately yes. Thinking of taking them out and sealing them better
@@collectingms3803 that's disappointing to know. The design seems to follow the Pre-LCI tail lights which were plagued with condensation issues. Hope they will come up with a revised version - Brighter DRLs & better sealed!
@@jondoe19896091 Yeah it really is. I know with the M3/M4 GTS lights a V2 version came out, so I'm hoping the same will happen with the M2 to fix the issues
I wish they didn't have that purple/blue trace. That's so 1985. And "pretty good" quality on a German car, I'm not sure that's good enough for me. I love the fact that they are dimmer actually.
Yeah I see what you're saying.. I know with the non OEM GTS tail lights for the 3s and 4s, a second generation was made a few months later with some improvements. I'd say quality is definitely on the high side, but not full OEM quality. They've also got a bit of a smoked look to them when off!
Can’t you code the OLED to be brighter?
I was thinking that. Gonna definitely look into it, but I know for sure you can code them to stay on with your DRLs
@@collectingms3803 When I coded in the LCI lights. There were options to change light voltage via bimmercode. Just not sure what you can bumper to. For reference. I changed mine from 13.7V to 13.5V.

But brake lights are so dimmer :-( and especially during the sunny day it's so dangerous that you are not enough bright that you are on brakes ! Dangerous on highways etc. Do you think, that you can increase a bit DIODS on BRAKE Lights ? It could help a lot to solve the problems... otherwise I will change them back to original OEM. Because it's dangerous to use it. Some friend told me, that sometimes its not visible enough if iam braking or not :-( Thank you so much mate for content and answer if any :-)

@@collectingms3803 Yes I believe so. There were harnesses for the left and right side. On both harnesses there was a wire that had a red wire and black wire which seem not connect to anything....Smh.Going to try again this weekend.
@@robmclemore1523 Hmm, I know with mine I only had the 1 harness on each light. I did have another set of wires in the package though. Maybe email the people you got it from and ask what's going on?

As a M2comp owner, these tail lights are probably the worse i've seen in long time. It looks like cheap aftermarket lights they used to put on early honda's.... please remove these. LCI is wayy better.
Meh. I rather stick with the regular LCI Blacklines. 100% legal and more clean looking.
