The best mod I have made to my last 2 cars has been re-wrapping the steering wheel. It makes a huge difference to the one thing you are always touching while driving!
Agreed- I’m 65 in 3 weeks n had countless cars as u can imagine- now a Miata n wanted the old school feel I had in my Alfas-Fiats-MGs n Triumphs over my years. This did the trick
Thanks for the video. They're good updates, I'm really starting to come around on the door pulls. For the Centre Console: I don't need the arm rest of the NC2 upgrade, but I'm tempted to get the storage bin from I.L. Motorsport.
An FYI for anyone doing the door bushings in the future, the mounting screws have bolt heads and can be removed-installed with a socket and ratchet. It is much easier.
I'm totally with you on weighted shift knobs that don't burn your hand! I used to have the perfect Metal Shift Knob that looked like a Voodoo ( But got it from some random person parting out their NA so no idea what it was ) but the brushed metal felt so nice and this was the only one I have ever seen that didn't heat up. But the NA got broken into and the knob got stolen. Ended up with a similar weighted core / Delrin outside knob. ( Though the Company doesn't seem to make them anymore ). Since you're talking Touchpoints, I have to give a shoutout to the Cipher Wheel for the NC. I resisted it for a while but when I got a second NC and the steering wheel had a bit more meh. But it definitely feels nice driving it. ( But also realize it's a bit over the budget of the rest of the stuff in your video. )
I second or third or fourth the cipher steering wheel. It's not THAT expensive, but it is THAT great. Save up your allowance and put it at the top of your interior mod list. @@FlywheelFilms
A great video! Just fitted the hand break knob. I have been looking around for one for a bit. I already had a Cravenspeed shift knob but I bought a replacement cap. Both are well worth the money. I used multi- grips to remove the old one, do I didn’t need to remove the console.
Can’t wait to pick up my 08 nc this coming weekend.. try the brass shifter bushings. Really make those shifts crisp. Also the rx-8 windshield wiper stock replacement just ordered mine a few minutes ago for my NC that I’m getting.
@@FlywheelFilms can’t wait to do the ones you did to your nc Miata.. I literally did all of these upgrades to my na Miata I sold so time to turn around and do it all over again lol. Mainly can’t wait to do the 2.5 L engine swap only because the NC I purchased has a bad engine.
@@nolahahnshouse3389 First thing to do on my NC1 was to fix water leaks :) Second I bought oem leather shift know becasue there was some aftermarket shit, and I bought new oem floor mats with set of retainer clips. Now car is much cleaner and enjoyable to use.
Just received my cravenspeed shift knob and handbrake handle, excellent quality. What did you use for the handbrake button? The OEM one or an aftermarket?

I think you can just remove hand brake boot without removing whole center console in order to change handbrake grip.
removing the center console was unnecessary. also it’s a great time to replace this old leather boots with new ones to refresh in the interior.
I was only able to get the handle off the help of a screwdriver, but if you’re able to, it’s probably not entirely necessary!

I just maintained the OEM button, I felt it matched well
