Thank you Robbert for the amazing footage! The race was incredible, we all started on slicks as the conditions were dry with no rain in sight. As the rain fell, intermediates would have been the perfect tire as it wasn't wet all the way around the circuit, I thought the most important factor was going fast enough for aero grip, heat in the tires, and heat in the brakes. Others took an extra pitstop for wets, I stayed on slicks throughout the race. We finished more than 45 seconds ahead of the next car. My 962, Pinky, has not been used in anger in 10+ years and I have recently bought her and brought it back racing. We need to do a full rebuild at the end of the season to make the car more competitive, but we have not had the time yet. An example of her not being in top form is the fact that even the windshield wiper didn't work! Thank you guys for the positive messages, I'm lucky to drive her and she took good care of me!
The drive was absolutely epic mate!! Love your racing style. And what an awesome car it is. Thanks for bringing her back to racing!!
Thanks for the additional info on the setup and tire choice, providing some additional context to the great footage from Robbert. I’ve enjoyed some great races under similar conditions, and can really appreciate all the emotions when everything comes together on race day. Beautiful car and Congrats on a stellar performance!
Epic drive! What’s the 69 on the iPad for?
Thank you for driving her as designed! Masterful drive, well
Doke!
Amen. 🙏.
I'm not sure I've ever seen a driver push a historic car so hard on your channel before. Thanks for this!
I think you'll find that many, if not all, the historic racer onboards feature fast drivers...
@@JCG-Alfamonza I agree, it's just that you don't see drivers slide so frequently in historic cars because of the risk and value involved. I didn't mean to make it sound like the driver in this video is better than the others, just that they clearly threw caution to the wind more readily than other drivers even in rainy conditions lol. The number of saves made from those slides was impressive.
Agreed 3:58 was ballsy
@@RossomeSauce1the driver is Phil Kadoorie. There's another onboard of him racing an AC Cobra, and he's just as spectacular...
a pure sense of speed. This channel is gradually becoming the benchmark in terms of onboards
i just discovered it it really is the benchmark never seen anything this good
Already is. Pozdro666
No ABS. No TC. And a laggy turbo that kicks. You're a brave man 😂
Wow, great audio quality, not hissy and distorted.
the only hiss you hear is the turbo spooling
The commitment in the wet gets my utter respect. A joy watching the fight between car and driver.
1:37 goosebumps
This !!!!!
3.5L cosworth V8 at ~ 13k rpm ?
What car was that?
That was a Lola T92/10 V10 screaming past. Coming online soon as well..
@@RobbertAlblas wow! Cannot wait for that, sounded like the new Gordon Murray T50
Respect to the driver. Such a nice machine. Especially driving without ABS and with the turbo lag not easy. First breaking, then choosing the right gear then steering. My heart stopped for a second when he went over the curbs and hit the gas at the same time. Also sometimes pushing the throttle when steering wasn’t in a neutral position. Thrilling experience. Thank you for upload. Keep going 💪🏼.
1:36 holy shit, the sound of the Lola T92/10 is orgasmic
The driver didn't realize this was a collector's item and went full send in this race. Thank you driver for the excellent show.
Driving fast is not easy. And then this dude pushes his 962 (which is a turbo powered 80's beast to tame) in slight rain on slicks to the limit.
The amount of admiration and respect I have for such skill is out of this world. This guy can the fuck drive fast.
I think we've witnessed the most mental few laps of a historic Group C, to ever grace the internet. That's one for the record books.
Great seeing a 962 bring driven properly. He was absolutely on it great driving
The intensity!!! 🔥🔥😩👌🏻 SO GOOD!!!
Such a shame how underrated this channel is. Videos are next level. Loved every second of it
Ive never seen a video with so many moments so incredibly close to crashing. I think the car must have been unbalanced by the incredible mass of his balls. After the first few moments like that id be sitting in the pits!
That's how those cars were driven back then . Incredible skill
Truly monumental footage. You have some of the best videos on the Tube. Thank you.
The car at edge of engineering perfection, the driver at the edge of human's capabilities, the media production at the edge of absolute and me, at the edge of my chair, watching it all together. Thank you!
Fantastic footage as usual Robbert Alblas! A real treat to see this particular car/driver/track combo from such a high quality perspective. Very interesting to witness how this pilot at first struggles to keep up with the later tech machinery in the dry, and later in the wet coming into his own and giving us viewers a glimpse into the skill and finesse required to handle these historic monsters at the limit. Thank you for sharing this magic with us👌
What a beautifully monstrous handful.
Biggest balls I've ever seen in any in-car footage.
Gran Turismo 7 Last License in Porsche 917...Insane footage!!!You deserve waaayyyy more subscribers and views,Greetings from Croatia!!!
For the 10 or so seconds at 3:50-4:00 was insane! 2 saves back to back!
How the hell did he not crash? Dear god there was some truly epic saves in there
That's Phil Kadoorie driving...
I've watched several Goodwood Revival livestreams in which he raced, and all I can say is, he's fearless...
He would have some off-roading trying to drive an AC Cobra to the limit, and he'll just rejoin and push harder...
Goodwood's channel actually has an onboard video of him wrestling his AC Cobra, he's doing corrections to the steering wheel even when driving in a straight line!
I love the sound of a turbo flat-6. It's so purposeful. It sounds like it's just working its ass off and loving every second of it!
THE BEST AUTOMOTIVE CONTENT ON TH-cam.
Absolutely kick arse. I thought I was watching a dirt rally with all that opposite lock in entry!!
I got code brown and had to change my pants twice just from watching, absolute surgeon behind the wheel on the limit
Stutututuuuu
C’est absolument merveilleux
Driving superiority right there.
Committed, skillful and a fearless drive.
A joy to watch 👏
Closed door and my best headset to enjoy this video as best as possible. Great great work, thanks!
My hands got wet here 2:30 I felt the adrenaline rush!! What footage Robbert! Can't get enough of it!
This is one of the most incredible onboards in vintage car ever
Philip Kadoorie is a legend of a driver! How many wild saves especially on the wet in this monster! Kudos! And many thanks for the video Robert!
1980s prototype racing is insane. Super lightweight cars, powerful engines, no advanced electricals, turbo lags, & minimum safety. Pure adrenaline & balls of steel.
Just awesome, can't wait to see what else comes on your channel.
If you're taking requests, the xjr-9 in the background needs some love 😉
Well can’t say no to an XJR-9 now can I?
@@RobbertAlblas th-cam.com/video/XFLQBUDa0uw/w-d-xo.html 😂
first time i could feel the exact difference between driving in dry and wet conditions!
awesome cinematography!
It just keeps getting better ! Fantastic video.
I suppose car was on rain tires for whole video.
Some would say this car had poor setup, way too skittish. But to me it seems absolutely perfect. Especially for late 80s/early90s car, when they were not yet total railroad vehicles and still had a lot of mechanical aspects in handling, were still overpowered for amount of grip they had. Also apparently a quick way to drive (winning), while at the same time very spectacular and exciting. A proper test of drivers skill, still very controllable.
Slicks!
@@PrivateerHK Thank you for information. Surprisingly fast and still well biting in out from the slides (like at 4:30).
Is this Phil that has been on SeenThroughGlass's channel a few times? What an absolute legend! Stunning footage as always!
I believe so, yes...
A great watch of a very aggressive driver having a lot of fun in one of the world's greatest car designs. Brilliant
just incredible (racing, skills, film making) ! blows my mind
Wow - I knew, having seen him drive other cars before, that Phil was fairly handy, but to be honest, I hadn't given him nearly enough credit. Before looking at the name I'd assumed this was a seasoned pro at the wheel. Fair play to him!
Amazing car control.I thought youd be in the gravel a few times... but your sheer commitment bravery and skill was a joy to behold. That car is a work of art and we the spectators are so lucky that cars like this are being raced hard.
I have never seen such an excellent video on the subject! Super quality, thanks! Jeez, like a long dance on ice. This monster is no joke, it requires 100% concentration from the pilot especially in these conditions. Hats off!
Philip that was totally crazy driving. Lots of respect for you. The car is a beast!
Robbert how can your onboard footage be this good? I didnt even knew it was possible before seeing your gt40 video.
Also, I dont think i know enough about cinematography to even explain why this is so different. It looks like there is some greenscreen to add the track in the windshield or something hahahaha
By far the best channel in this category
you could tell a lot of the other drivers were scared of sending their priceless group c legends into the wall when it started raining, this driver just said "fuck it, we ball"
Amazing!! Thank you so
Much! It is very rare these days to see a 956/962 driven in full attack mode. Opposite lock, tires spinning as the boost builds, and attacking those mighty silk cut Jags! Love it!
You need to collaborate with F1 and teach them how to produce higher quality onboards. These are superb. Well done. Subscribed.
I find your group C vehicle tests really great go and drive other models
Best onboard footage I have ever seen!
He has balls!!
There was no time for changing tyres…. To short distance
I got chills!
incredible, it remembered me racing in gokart during rain
This is unreal stuff! I feel so involved when i watch this
Still very high quality production. Intense to watch.
I think you got the best youtube channel! Please more gt40 content
I'm just amazed by how unreal your footage looks . I highly doubt that there is any other channel out there, matching your level of quality 🙏🏼 you are truly living the dream out there ❤
One of your best ones Robbert! Love this - Philip showing some real skill and great that you included his jubilation for a very well deserved win!
I've played only one game that has nailed this sound. It's Project CARS 3.
Really great driving... He commands that beast like it should be...😎
Genuinely some of the best automotive content on yt, never stop
Unreal levels of commitment on show here, looks feisty on corner entry!
This is the best onboard I’ve seen. Wow
What the hell was at 1.38? however, you bring such an amazing content to us, I'm grateful :)
Beautiful and spectacular .. the driver is crazy without fear

Great video! Love how the rear is so keen to overtake the front :D
so many code brown moments its insane. absolutely love it!
What a Fantastic video!! You took the car to the limit and deserved to win! That was just amazing!!
First time showing up in my suggestions and a great use of my time! Sounds killer dude and the driving looks top-notch too!
An absolute treat. Thank you very much for sharing.

Incredible video Robert, the raw stereo audio really makes you immersed into the scene
Your videos are amazing. Idk how you are able to drive such classics like this but I’m captivated by every video.
Its amazing to watch those reflexes on the drives! Massive respect for them! And great channel, just discovered it today
Amazing video, really loved the editing on this
This is the best racing footage I have seen in years. Absolutely incredible driving and footage. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Though this sht was a movie... You need to be on the media staff for a racing league or team with work like this!
Amazing to see these historic cars being driven to the absolute limit and beyond! Impressive driving and commitment @RobbertAlblas
Absolute full send, full control and fully immersed. Another fine video man.
Tout est fou, le pilotage, le circuit, la voiture ... sans parler de la qualité de la vidéo et du son, merci pour ce beau partage 😍
amazing footage, great view and sound. it looks terrifying driving this beast
The energy your videos reflect is unexplainable, keep it up ! 👏💛
nice pfp lol
OMG that was tense to watch as is. Can't imagine what that was like in the cockpit! One save after another!
Always amazing video. I would LOVE to see the group C Peugeot V10 905 on your channel 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Guess what.. that’s coming soon!
Fantastic, love this channel
Not gonna lie, my A-hole shrunk into infinity couple of times! Top level stuff!👍
