I realized it was hydro locked too guys, but not everyone has experienced that, so how about we try and just point it out kindly instead of telling him he’s a bad mechanic? I just saw this trike on Marketplace. I'm down in Grafton in Ozaukee County and would consider it but I don't wanna search for a seat, fenders, and tank cover.....damn.
Carb is flooding. Hydro lock. You'll snap a knuckle pulling it if you don't get the carb right. That or just stay in your era of machines. These weren't for cupcakes
This guys starts this thing, revs it, let's it run and then says I don't think there's oil in it.... Why wouldn't oil be the first thing to check on a machine sitting over a year...
She's flooding like crazy man . Those vacuum fuel pumps dry up and will fill the cylinder full of fuel most likely why they bypassed it. Check that fella out and polish up the needle seat and give her another go.
I owned a 83 175 that had trouble starting. Would take forever pulling it but push starting it would fire up right away. Turned out pull cord spring was wound backwards turning the motor over the wrong way.
I need your help, I have a Kawasaki intruder 440 snowmobile which has spark and is getting fuel and has decent compression. The carbs have been cleaned good just last week and still will not start even with starter fluid. What do you think?
take the recoil off and grab the flywheel if there is even a tiny bit of play side to side the crank bearings are bag which means the crank seals will suck air and will make it suck air and start and run like shit two strokes need bottom end pressure to run good
Did you check the timing chain,mechanism? I was watching a video not too long ago where the chain jumped a couple teeth on the timing chain and once he fixed it then it started working just fine. These machines are really simple so there are very few things that could be wrong with it,people beat the living shit out of these poor machines so it could just be completely clapped out from being "rode hard and put away wet". Im not too sure how well built the Yamaha's are but,the Honda ATC's are tough as nails. I would recommend selling this one and locating a Honda that is already in relatively good shape to start with and proceed from there. Either way,good luck man,get her running and sell it and then get a Honda is what i'd recommend.
Still working on carbs on floor of garage, crazy. One day you'll figure it out. Work bench? Even have your sonic cleaner on the floor! Lol. Fuel Pump works off of vacuum from crankcase. Was killing me watching you yank on string for sooo long. Fake it till ya make it!!!

It seems like 3 wheelers always have there timing off and also top up the gas because if the gas tank is shaped weirdly itll look like it has gas but it's not getting enough
to much fuel getting into the engine the float needle must be leaking try polishing the seat or the flpat hieght os wrong if the neede seat isnt faulty
I know when my bike was doing that, it was the timing slipped. Kicking it over every so often, it would skip. Perhaps it is the same when you pull the cord. Sometimes it skips. And every so often, it will line back up, but then continue to fire in the wrong spots... But, I am no mechanic. '87 XR 600R
Diary of a Grim Reaper it’s a 2 stroke it doesn’t have a timing chain or cam to jump time it can’t be a timing issue it’s either the carb hydro locking it or the tank is vapor locking
@@lukecombs5659 Well, he was asking if anyone shared these symptoms, and my XR 600R shares those symptoms. I know it slips. Still does. Because it's timing. It isn't firing when it should. I am clearly no mechanic as stated. But this is acting just like my bike. It did run, then slipped again, and now does not run. Even he said timing as a possibility. It does suck. Mine still does not run. It even broke my ankle trying to start it. But I do love will it run videos.

little tip to save you future headaches. take the spark plug out put a little drop of gas in the spark plug hole than put the plug back in and pull! it gets gas where it needs to be . also giveing little shots of gas while pulling makes for a easy start to :) great video man
Something aint right with that pull cord assembly. Maybe try an take it apart n see. Sounds to me like the return spring is unwound n not tight like it shold be. Also when you pull the cord make sure its straight up n down. It'll come apart if its getting friction against the case hole it comes out of. Then you'll def have to take it apart. There isnt anything wrong with your compression. Its got plenty of compression an great spark. Check out that pull cord assembly bc im almost certain thats what the problem is.
It sound like the float isn't shutting the fuel off after the bowl is full and its flooding the engine and hydro locking it. That's problemwhy the carb is leaking also. It's over flowing
I'd say the pip is plugged. It doesn't look like it's been rebuilt so I'd say the timing is fine. But you might have a rat's nest in the pipe. Good video. Good luck to ya

Your needle is sticking, it’s loading up on fuel. That’s why it gets hard to pull over because it’s hydro locking on fuel. Check your needle and seat.

YTM 175cc is what you have.. the YTM 125 had no suspension up front

I owned a 83 175 that had trouble starting. Would take forever pulling it but push starting it would fire up right away. Turned out pull cord spring was wound backwards turning the motor over the wrong way.

If carb has fuel and it is dripping gas it is flooding i would try checking the float and seat in the carb.
And if you don't know what the seat is it is a tiny rubber o-ring that goes in the hole the jet slides into.

Check your needle valve for wear. Also make sure your float height is set good. If it’s too high it’ll flood out.

there is water in the crank case and its getting hydrolocked. Thats why its getting stiff. I would assume. not sure though.

Make sure the vacuum tubes are hooked up correctly from fuel pump to tank and carbuerator/intake manifold
