- Welcome friends! Today we are taking a day trip to the adorable Town of Dorset, VT. A Hallmark movie could easily be filmed here! On the way to Dorset, we make a stop at the Vermont Country Store and after Dorset we will make a quick stop at another unique General Store.

My daughter and i did a leaf peeping trip one October many moons ago. We took turns driving so we both could enjoy the scenery. Only ate at diners, and had a blast. One of the best road trip I ever took.

I am from New England. I don’t live there anymore. Funny how familiar it is, and how lovely it all is, when seen with a fresh eye. (You are right about the white clapboard houses. They are so common that you forget how different it is from other places.)

I live in RI and have been to New Hampshire so many times but I have never been to VT 😮 I think it's about time my husband and I visit. Love the country stores...so cute!!

Your trip to VT brings back a flood of wonderful memories when my daughter went to college in the Rutland area. Made that trek from CT often. Quaint villages with streets dotted endlessly of beautiful historic homes. Chesterfield has fabulous antique stores, but take care to watch the quick decrease in speed limit on main road!! The town of Dorset is just charming, riding through the town of Dorset felt very special and I so loved the music you chose to show us the town.

I really enjoyed your video. I live in Mississippi but I visited Vermont years ago with my mom. She had just been told she might be going blind. They would have to wait for further testing. I told her let’s go see New England right now while the weather is beautiful. It was the first week of October. I wanted her to have beautiful memories but she died the next October so I’m the one with beautiful memories. Thanks for sharing your trip.

I have always gotten the Vermont Country Store catalog and it was a real treat to get to see the store and a tour inside. The tour and fall leaves were also very enjoyable. Our leaves in TN are just starting to turn but the countryside looks very similar to East TN. Thank you again for another wonderful tour.

Hi Carla, thanks for taking us along on the road trip. I have never been in Vermont or New Hampshire. They certainly are beautiful and scenic states. Enjoyed The Vermont Country Store, used to get their catalogs years ago. They have so many nostalgic items. Years ago, I had a dear friend, who has since passed, that loved Wind Song perfume. Had not seen or heard of that in a long time. Also, how about the Hostess with the Mostest cupcakes. So yummy looking. I could never pass those up. Lol❤

Yes, unfortunately, like I said they were hosting a Wedding and I was trying to stay out of their way. I would have loved to have spent more time there....maybe next time!
Unfortunately, our foliage here in Vermont was more muted than usual this year. We think it's because we had so much rain this summer and other than the mountain tops, we have not yet had a frost. This is very unusual for October. I'm so glad you enjoyed your Vermont excursion. Dorset is a very sweet little town, so pretty in any season. Thanks for the lovely video.

Vermont is so beautiful. The last time I visited the Country store they were closed, but I had been told they have 2 locations, but I can't remember that was so long ago. I wonder if they still have their catalog. I was cracking up! I used to wear Loves and Gardinia perfume, seeing that brought back some great memories. Enjoyed watching your road trip.
Yes Doris, their other location is Weston VT, the original Store. It is a little smaller but the Town is so cute. So many cute Towns in VT. That was so lovely! I enjoy visiting all parts of the USA but I especially enjoy any time I spend in New England. The NE states all have their own character and charm and the little town of Dorset looks like a wonderful place to visit! Hi Carla, I've never been to Vermont but I've dreamed about going. That place was gorgeous and the beautiful immaculate homes were so so pretty. I live in Tennessee and yes its beautiful to but just to see the different states is breath taking. I wrote down many of the places you mentioned just in case one day we may go there. Hi Carla….. Dorset is such a cute and quaint little town and there are so many of these cute little towns in Vermont! I have not yet been to the Dorset bakery so I definitely will be checking that out before too long….always have to stop for lunch! Another place that you might visit if you haven’t yet is Weston, Vermont. There is a Vermont General store there, but right across the street is the Weston Village Christmas shop and it is so adorable! I would also like to suggest the Barn and Thistle restaurant in Westmoreland, New Hampshire. I don’t think I’ve ever had a better tasting lunch and the decor is just so quaint and warm … Just check their website because they do have limited hours. My husband and I have eaten there several times because it is so good!🍁🍂🍁

The Christmas shop is sooo cute! I will most definitely add the Barn and Thistle to my list, I've not been to Westmoreland......maybe through it (?). Thanks for the recommendations!

Oh my, there are so many! It would depend on which State(s) you were going to. Here's just a FEW: Massachusetts: Boston, Concord, Marblehead, Rockport, Newburyport, Stockbridge. NH: Portsmouth, Peterborough/Hancock, White Mountains region, Lake Sunapee area, Lake Winnipesaukee area. VT: Woodstock, Stowe, Manchester, Burlington, areas. So many more cute Towns. New England is a very special/unique part of our Country.

Just found your channel, and I love it! I am from PA and love all things New England. Don't know if you respond to comments, but here it goes. In that country store you showed a picture of perfumes. I saw what looked like the original Chantilly. I wore that for years until they sold the brand to Dana, the scent was never the same. Could you please give me the name of that Country Store so I could contact them? Thank you.
Hello and Welcome! Yes, that was The Vermont Country Store. They are an old Company that has a Catalog and I believe they sell Online also. It's a fun Store....like stepping back in time. They also have another Store (I believe the original) in Weston, VT. Have a great rest of your week!!

Please understand how dangerous recording while driving is. I know two people hit by drivers recording. Both have basically lost their livelihoods, are up to their eyeballs in debt, and know have injuries causing debilitation and pain for life. Please stop!
I have two hands on the wheel at all times and use a Dashcam. I also record when my Husband is driving which is what you see if the Camera moves. I appreciate your concern.
