Good job you two! i'll tell you a little trick....The cord from solar panel to camera, you need to move the solar panel up higher so there is a curve at the bottom of the cable..... So water will drip off at the curve now down inside the solar panel....

Nice video, but I would make the following suggestions: Cover the front lens and the mic hole with masking tape and spray paint the camera either black or dark green, or whatever matches its background. And second, the camera should probably be mounted with a ladder, out of arm's length to any passer-by. Cheers!

In NY, the definition of Trespassing so, "To enter, or remain Illegally upon real property." Merely stepping across an unmarked, unposted property line is, on its own, illegal. It becomes illegal when it is clearly posted, or if the property owner tells to stay out, and your enter anyway. I've heard every argument there is for trespassing, including, "you have all this property, and can't use it all the time", "My kids don't have a yard to play in, but you own all this property", "I'm not hurting anything", and my all time favorite, "I don't believe in property lines." Turned out they didn't believe in having to pay the fine for trespassing either, until the Magistrate explained "sentencing guidelines" with fine/jail time" options.

G'day Good people, this is George from Australia, a long time subscriber and a daily viewer of your videos.
I just saw this video and I'm surprised that you weren't aware of this type of technology that has been available for many years, in fact, I first got a proper trail camera with no reflective services when the phone systems were working on G2 mobile service, they have the exact same functions with the sim and microcards, they also are offered with the solar panel for power supply.
I got mine about 12 years ago and as you experienced with your camera, you will get a pic or a series of pics or even a video clip with the recorded data, this is all transmitted almost instantaneous so that if the trespasser spots the camera and tries or destroys it, the date was already transmitted to your mobile phone and therefore you had a chance of seeing something that could identify the perpetrator(s).
While mentioning the possibility of having your camera stolen or smashed, that issue has been addressed by the manufacturers of these trail cameras that to start with are a lot more difficult to detect/spot and therefore giving you the element of surprise while your white camera would be easily spotted and if the intruder has a bad temper, the chances are he would go from behind the camera avoiding being detected and rip the camera off the tree and smash it or deactivate it.
The proper trail cameras have a metal box that will protect the camera and a steel cable that goes through the metal box and wraps around the tree so, stealing it or destroying it would be a much more difficult task to almost impossible unless the person had spotted the camera and come back with all the tools necessary to take it away but that would be prone to happen.
These cameras went from G2, G3 and now G4 mobile service, this means that the signal becomes stronger with each upgrade making it almost impossible to run out of range (exceptions do apply with any mobile service) so if you think you should (and I believe you should) instal cameras on main entrance tracks to the property I would suggest looking for the proper camouflaged trail cameras with the metal box and steel cable, you would feel better to know that the cameras will be more difficult to spot and that they have a good/strong metal case and steel cable to prevent them from disappearing.
Sorry, I just thought that you should know...!
    George

I have one of these 4G cameras at my farm property for security purposes. It's worked well over the last few yrs, but it has a few flaws. Certain times of the yr, for some reason the angle of the sun in the morning sets it off and it will go off over and over for an hr or two. The other problem is on occasion after it detects motion and goes off, it will then continue to go off over and over again, sometimes for up to an hr even though there's no motion w/in view. All that said, I'm still happy with it and glad to have something to give a little pc of mind.

Thanks for that review M&M. We live in the Detroit area and have our vacation place in Northern Michigan. We don’t have power or internet there, just a generator and cellphones when we’re there. I’ve had a cellular gamecam in the past but I would only get an image if it thought it saw something. Then it died and I never replaced it. What you just reviewed is exactly what I’ve been wanting. I think I’ll pick one up. Thanks again.

We spent a couple of years “confiscating” trail cameras and feeders. Now have the cameras hid and working. The security of our property more than justifies the cost. I have a few people who are neighbors that are allowed on my property and have access from a different point other than our driveway. I have warned them to let us know when/if they are going to be there either by stopping by or just a simple phone call since we like to shoot on occasion. I don't want/need any accidents happening on our property.

That looks like a great camera. Unfortunately, up here in Canada, it would cost a fortune for cell service, as we get hosed up here. I have 8 trail cameras on my property, and get tons of pictures of the local wildlife. I have had trespassers before, but since I put up the "No Trespassing" signs at the two main entrances, and started posting pictures of the people who I caught on the cams, they have slowed down a lot. Love the videos. Cheers...

The camera gave me a lot of ideas for use although, it would have been better selling point if you drove back to the house and showed a little footage of animals eating the feed on the ground or actual trespassers.. Unless I missed it, you never traveled any distance from the camera so I feel a little apprehensive of spending the money for the camera set. But thanks for what you did show I really do appreciate it and gave a thumbs-up. You did very well on what you did give and your statement near the beginning, "if I don't like it you won't see this video." You strike me as an honest person so that in itself carries a lot of weight for me but not quite enough to tilt the scale to "yes, that is what I need!" Thanks, Mark

Make sure you disable the LED lights used for ‘night vision’. If it ia anything like Reolink's other cameras, the LED’s glow bright red to illuminate if the camera detects movement.
    Dead give away ;o)
You can also set the sensitivity to avoid false alarms, varying it throughout the day if you wish, as well as setting an alarm which pops up on your phone when movement is detected. Loads of other features, although you will need to position the solar panel correctly to catch as much sunlight as possible otherwise there will be insufficient power generated to keep the battery charged.
    Great video Guys.

Cameras can be a great security tool when used properly. They don’t deter all criminals of course or we wouldn’t have bank robberies anymore. If the goal is to be alerted to a trespasser/criminal etc the live alerts/moninoting is key. To address the deterrence issue the offender needs to know as early on as possible that they have been detected. You could enhance your system by installing a couple of loud speaker sirens or some audible notification system with the speakers in different areas. Having two in the woods causes the sound to come from many different directions confusing the offender and less chance they can locate it to terminate it. These can be run off 12 volt solar charged batteries as well and you could use a device and app like wemo to turn it on and off with your smartphone. To use wemo specifically you would need 120 voltage to hardwire the system but if loud enough they don’t need to be locted far from your homes power source. Either way a multilayered system will provide the best results.

Caribbean Dreamin trespassing is trespassing, ATV, dirt bike, jeep, hunting, camping or arrowhead hunting. You know when your not on property you own. In Alabama land doesn't have to be posted. The trespasser has to prove they had authority to be there, and it's only land owner that can give permission. I mentioned the nail boards in my first post. My brother found a car with four flats on the property and had the owner charged with dumping and abandoning a vehicle. The year before he found an ATV with three flats. He drug it to the front of the property and burned it. No one ever claimed it. People take their land seriously here so I would say make sure you have permission in writing before you enter land you don't own.

I don't really, I've got some nice optics and would never shoot at movement, but it sure makes their eyes get big! Haven't had a repeat poacher either...Bla Ha Ha Ha Ha. And Better not.

Like the idea of that camera M&M. As you said technology is snowballing the consumer at a unbelievable rate. As far as the deer, I am sure it is looking for that fresh corn.

Thanks for the video. I will say that there's nothing wrong with not wanting trespassers on your property. In fact, the very neighbors I find trespassing on my property have gone absolute nutso when they thought I might be trespassing on their land when I wasn't even close and had already had the boundary marked by a surveyor and had installed visible fence posts. I know a lot of people who say the same thing -- "I don't have a problem with people coming across my land," with the usual caveats. However, they will have a problem when one of them surprises them with a Quiet Title action to take title to that portion of property or to establish a prescriptive easement. This is what is happening in Northern Virginia. More and more entitled people are trying to take portions of their neighbor's property. Happened in our last two neighborhoods. We moved to the country to get away from all those nasty HOA subdivision dynamics. Now we have new neighbors from one of those subdivisions who are trying to take a portion of our property that is nearer to their house than it is to ours. They act like they are just waltzing through our stream and wooded area but behind our backs they are collecting info to file quiet title to take it by tacking. We have had to go in hard with a fence and signage and they still enter. I appreciate this video as I have been looking for a good off grid camera that doesnt need WiFi. Trailcams have been letting me down. Although I have found the mere presence of cameras even if not working has cut down on the adventurism on their part.

Pretty cool little camera , altho I think cell companies should give these things away because they are the gift that keeps on giving . There are better more modular ways of doing this that do not have that reoccurring cost and provide better image quality and fluidity .Solar is so cheap now that you can pepper your property with stations that blend in and are hooked right into your house NVR so you can view anyplace real time .
Respond if this interests you , Im not a salesman , just what I used to do in another life and what I use on my place.

signs reading Trespassers shot on site, or, If found here at night you will be found here in the morning, are very effective. Think the biggest issue with anything of this nature is atmosphere, putting a sense of real fear in ones mind is the first step. If a pastor of a local church comes out telling violators to PLEASE leave, vs MR.T coming through, you can feel a huge difference!!

Hollow out a dead branch wide enough for the camera to fit into or at least paint the camera with the same color scheme as the tree.

I live in the Texas Panhandle. We can see for miles so it is hard for anyone to be on your land and not see them. Drove to Memphis, Tennessee one time. While driving in Arkansas I noticed a clearing in the trees ahead and nearly drove off I-40 trying to see what these people thought was important enough to cut down trees for. Memphis has so many trees it is hard to see the sites. Biggest streach of treeless street I saw was a strip mall.

super6 baker - i lived on a farm along a river in the Ozarks as a kid. Dad NEVER refused anyone, who was Poe_LITE enough to stop at the house and ASK permission 👍🏼 - to hunt whitetails 🦌. Those w/o some sense of propriety - were promptly run off, as owners witnessed them climbing fences, opening gates & such.
Personally delivered ‘Removal Requests’ were made: accompanied by 12ga Winchester & S&W .357 mag... not surprisingly ALL complied when faced by armed & pissed off Farmer & Kid. “An ARMED 🔫 Society is a Polite Society” 😃

Two 40 watt amplifiers (not as good as 250 watt but good enough) set up in the garage to play loop Rocky Burnet's "Toein the Line" with the flick of a switch. When hunters appear on camera (even 20 acres away) they don't stick around loo long. So yes, the camera notifies us and we turn on the tunes for everyone to hear. PS common sense says hide the final mounting place of the camera so it's not obvious.

maybe alright for a heavily forested area, will look into it though ongoing sim plan cost is annoying. If it was for buildings and fairly open acreage spaces id just trench in some conduit and run POE wired PTZ hikvision setup. 4K 60 frames with a few WD purples. 4x optical zoom on the cheaper models up to 30 or more on the high end.

  • @wendellcrabtree9921

Like the camera. Squirrels will love the exposed wires. Use some kind of repellent or conduit on your permanent mount to protect the wires from the solar panel. Can't do hay yet for the rain rain rain!!

That is a nice camera. Has many advantages over Game cameras. But, None of those game cameras can compare to the Covert Code Black or Blackhawk Cameras. They are cell cameras that will do real time photos or the first frame of a video to your phone. This is where this camera here comes in. It gives you real time video at that moment and time just like my home security cameras do. Combine this camera with a Covert cell camera and you have a very powerful tool for trespassers as well as wild game. Been looking for such a camera where I can set it up to watch my boat at the dock while hunting pigs up at the camp house area. Its a long walk and no telling who might be at your dock. The Covert will do it but its just a simple picture and not real time video, plus I need it at my bait station and my Moultrie cell camera is too slow to respond to use for real time security.
