  • How do you get cellular data when traveling internationally?
Are you someone like me who travels a lot and prefers being connected while abroad? Maybe you have an upcoming trip planned and need to be connected for work, maybe you just want to know your whereabouts and map directions, or maybe you just want it for peace of mind. Whatever your reason is, I have an easy, fast, and efficient way to connect you wherever it is you plan to go.
In today’s video I’m going to introduce you to eSIMs (if you aren’t already familiar with them). I’m then going to talk about how to easily purchase and install one so that you can get connected for your upcoming trip right away.
Getting connected has never been easier, cheaper, and faster. I used to spend gobs of money buying physical SIM cards and adding data to them, but now with ESIM technology the chips have become virtual and the installation instant.
Le's go over all the benefits of eSims and the steps to install one (or several) to your device.
Ready to download your travel eSIM? Click here to download the Airalo App and choose your eSim package: airalo.pxf.io/Aoxx1a
Want to know if you device is eSIM compatible? Take a look at the Airalo site where they have all compatible devices listed: www.airalo.com/help/about-air...

I recommend you activate it before you leave this way you don’t have to go crazy looking for free Wi-Fi to activate it.

Excellent video Jeff. I have purchased a data only SIM for overseas. Do I disable my original SIM when I activate the overseas SIM or do I still have the original SIM enabled but with roaming off so I can still have WIFI calling on when connected to WIFI? Thanks in advance.

Great informative video. I know you recently went to Kenya. Did you use Airalo there? Did you have any cell service without WiFi? I’m visiting in July and a little stressed about cell service there with Verizon travel pass.

I haven’t used an eSIM in Kenya yet but definitely will next time I go. Kenya would be a great place to use this service, in my experience there’s been great data coverage across the country - even in some remote regions I’ve traveled there.

Thanks for the info Jeff. I have a question. How would this work if you are going to several destinations. For example, I am planning a trip that will take me to Italy, Greece, Turkey and the UK. Since I'll be in a cruise, probably will not have a signal while at sea. Is their a "multicountry" package that you may know of?

    • @Jeff_Hyer
      @Jeff_Hyer  28 วันที่ผ่านมา

Yes, there are some regional eSim options available. There are a few “Europe” packages available that may include all the destinations you plan to visit!
If you decide to move forward, don’t forget to use discount code “JEFFHYER10” to get 10% off you Airalo package :) Here’s the link for reference: airalo.pxf.io/c/4000973/2000777/15608?p.code=JEFFHYER10

Thank you for an excellent and informative video. I have two related questions. I will be using for my trip to india. I have few questions. (1) When I land, I need to call my car driver on his Indian cell phone to tell him that I have arrived. Will this allow me to make that call to a local cell number? (2) I often need to connect to my banks and brokerages, and they send me a verification code as a text to my US tel number (Verizon service). Will I be able to get those codes too? (3) Would I be able to use my whatsapp as is?

I am from India. I Can assure you the prepaid Sims (airtel / jio / vodafone) here with 5g data plan are fast & cheapest in the world and available at airport and almost any part of any Indian city you are traveling. But better to buy at Airport, like u Said u might need to call your taxi guy. So if you forgot to buy a plan ahead, no need to worry.

Does this only give you data, how about phone calls and texts?

    • @ConanNYC

These are data-only plans, but many apps such as WhatsApp, iMessage, and social media messaging only need data to work while abroad. This means you can still use most of your normal communication methods without any issues
