I discoverd for the first time your channel and It was for me verry interesting also because you are giving verry good information with the Swiss Signal-system and I hope that the Rhb is keeping at least one locomotive from this type in shape and running because that was for that time 1947 an jewel. I did enjoiy it very much and will following your chaneel more.
Totally love your video's. Beginning on the turntable wow awesome. That comment the weather is not good wait for another video😆rolling of my couch. Serieus comments on the weather? I like it when you see all kinds of weather. Love are your info and comments. You really can learn from that. Thanks for sharing greetings Debby from Amsterdam the Netherlands
Just super, especially the beginning with the turntable and all. I also loved that parallel run with the ICN on the mainline before Chur. That was nice and the rest of the scenery along the Rhine was also very beautiful. Thanks for sharing!
A fantastic video which brings back many memories or the railway from Zurich to Chur but also of the Rhaetian Railway in and around Chur particularly the Ems Chemie plant at Domat Ems where a dear friend of mine worked for many years. Thank you!!
What a great video Switzerland have so beautiful scenery and it was an absolute treat to watch. I also found the small pieces of info really useful as it helped to get a better understanding for those of us who is not familiar with train signaling.
Werter Herr! Die Lok ist mein Jahrgang und noch gut in Schuss! Dieses Video ist voll in Ordnung und ich habe es genossen :-))) Ich grüsse Sie ganz herzlich und werde schauen, wann das nächste Video kommt!
Good day to you all, love watching train rides in Switzerland, having been watching since lockdown at the end of March 2020 in South Africa. You guys have an amazingly beautiful country, clean and well run. In South Africa, we have a very beautiful country but our public transport is non-existing. Would love to be able to look left and right on the video, I'm assuming one day it will be possible. Thank you for sharing
Another great video Fabio. I like all the information you provide. One thought, you could add a mention of any interesting features you pass, such as the name/nature of any freight sidings you pass.
Why are Graubünden so green? Because from time to time the weather is a little humid! 😉 Another great trip with an "old lady" still very healthy 😍 Encore merci et à bientôt sur les voies de la RhB.
I've only just noticed, but on the interlaced section (section with track in both gauges) there's no stagger on the overhead line as the ability to stagger (which is in any case less in Switzerland than most other countries) has been reduced by the need to keep with the width of the two different types sets of pantographs.
You made me look it up -- Switzerland's average annual sunshine is better than England's (lol). But it's only about 45-55% in most places. Zermatt was the winner last year with 62%, Zurich the loser with 37%. This is calculated as the total hours of visible sun divided by the total hours between sunrise and sunset.
If this is the loco you travelled on, I thought viewers ,right be interested in these details. Preserved in the Transport Museum in Lucerne on a five-year loan, from March 2012, o November 16, 2015, since November 16, 2015 again at the RhB. It's planned by the Rhb Historic this loco will be retained for preservation in the future as of Rhb still In service,
Old electric locos last forever given good maintenance. Must be getting close to the SBB Ae 3/3 II record in service life? Your video looked like it was after heavy rain, some crops where more horizontal then vertical. Suggest a future view of the loco traverser that is in Landquart. We have gone round the turntable, the traverser would mean we travel sideways.
Super video, Fabio. When you show freight operations it is a part of the RhB that we enthusiasts don't get to see easily. Does the Rangierlok take the empty wagons to the Valser facility outside Ilanz? By the way, with the cloudy weather there is less contrast in the video so it is easier to see signals etc. :) Keep up the good work!!
The speed seems to possibly be a bit quick? Are the videos shown at a faster speed, or is it an illusion due to the wide angle lens that is used? None the less, a very enjoyable video... I enjoyed it.
Thank you.. I was not sure if the true speed was what we saw? The illusion of a high speed must be due to the wide angle lens on the Go pro? It makes things look just a little bit further away, and the distance just seems to be covered quicker at a normal speed? I noticed a clock beside the track at two different stations, and the elapsed journey time also appeared to be correct (indicating the speed was correct)?

I like the decorative flowers on the turntable. Turn and travel in style!

Fantastic cab ride, beautiful scenery...
Very nice clear and informative video. Thanks
Glad to see the Ge 4/4 i locomotives still going strong! One day, I really want to visit the Rhätische Bahn.
My grandma used to live in Thusis before she moved to Kirchenthurnen. All those memories from seeing the RhB
Wonderful, I just love the sound in the cab. It sounds like some is using an old fashioned typewriter!
It was built in 1947, that's why those sounds appear
Im glad you said ALMOST vintage .Same age as me

This engine is one year older than my father! 😆 a Fossil!
And it is also 1 year older than my wife of 49 years!!
Great video , great job , and you even get money for this . !

Thanks David. Yes, the shunting loco does take the waggons to the station "Schnaus".
How often do these freight trains run? Is the RhB trying to grow it’s freight business? It seems like many railroads have given up on it.
There are dozens of freight trains on weekdays.
Sind ihr durch Thusis gegangen?
meine lieblingsstrecke durch die ruinaulta
These engines have been much modified with new cab ends and upgraded electrics. However, some of the original build still remains.
Nice video! But what was the final destination of the train?
Yes, the train ended here
What is the clicking noise in the cab from?
The compressor.
And a question: At 26.05 are Capricorns stationed in Felsberg?
yes they are in felsberg for testing

None the less, a very enjoyable video... I enjoyed it.
The video is at normal speed. I used a GoPro with linear mode and 1080p 60fps.

Lovely stuff! Intrigued by the second (curved) set of rails on the turntable - what is their purpose? \m/
therre are two tracks in the depot which can only be reached via the curved rail on the turntable
@@Calandamountain aha squeezing the most out of the space available 😂 - thank you so much \m/

Is it a train or locomotive trip?
What is the track gauge ? It looks narrow.
Narrow gauge 1000mm

I think that when you showed "danger signal" it should have been "caution signal". A train shouldn't pass a danger signal.
good point. I may use this term in my future videos. Thanks
Freight trains are much better for viewing --- no irritating stops for passengers!
