    Nice channel! Wish we had access to train rides with such beautiful views here in Denmark! Greetings from Copenhagen - Maxi and Maro :-D

    The direction of travel, down the gorge, was a new experience. When combined with the failing light and increasing gloom, it added a sense of menace to what must seem a repetitive and familiar journey for the train crew. Thank you for sharing.

    What a great journey this was. Coming to the end now just a few minutes left. I thought a few times we were changing countries as the signalling seemed to change then back to the "Swiss??" signalling again. Thanks for all the station names and tunnel names. I felt I might have done this trip another time maybe the other way or another service. Is there such a thing as an International or Universal Rail Pass? I am too old for it now but just curious? Forgpt to add; I will never tire of Swiss scenery and countryside!

    It is a very good video but it would better if it were 4k so I could run it full screen without being blurry.
    Thanks for the video enjoyed it.

    Wonderful and so atmospheric as it got dark. I wish Covid would go away so I can travel internationally again and ride these routes again having done so many times before. At least your videos keep my memories alive so thank you and keep posting 😃👍

    Thank you for a marvellous ride. Commendations for setting a fixed aperture on your camera, no blinding tunnel exits.

    At Sumvitg-Cumpadials there is a turntable that has no overhead power supply. So other than snow ploughs and track maintenance vehicles with diesel engines and possibly steam engines, is this the only location available (flat ground) at this end of the line? Could it also have been used to enable loads for the Gotthard base tunnel to be correctly positioned for delivery?

      Hello Brian, the turntable is rarely used by maintenance and steam trains.

    Werter Herr! Diese Reise war wunderschön und ich habe sie sehr genossen! Es hat mich nur gestört, dass sie im Dunkeln verlaufen ist!?
    Allerbeste Grüße aus Bad Vöslau in Niederösterreich!

      Hátten Sie ein Zug früher nehmen sollen. Genieszen Sie es trotzdem. Erst nach Reichenau/Tamins die Dunkelheit findet ein bischen Statt. Reichenau bis Chur ist vielmals bei Tageslicht zu bestaunen so nicht meckern.

    At 8.02 the start signal is beyond the junction where the two lines converge. How does the driver know which track the signal refers to?

    • @Calandamountain
      @Calandamountain  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The square sign on the right says "Im1", which means signal aspect 1. The track on the left has the same square sign but with "Im3" or aspect 3. You need the right aspect to proceed. If the signal would show a "caution aspect", the latest point to stop is before the square signs.
