As someone who doesn't watch tiktok this tells me most people don't know anything about drumming. But if this turn people on to drumming I won't complain. :)
You asked in the final clip what a Stylophone was. It was a small battery-powered device very popular here in the UK around 1967. It was promoted on TV here by the late Rolf Harris, a HUGE star in the UK who was later jailed for 12 counts of indecent assault on girls and women. So here we can't disassociate it from him! Which is a shame,
It seems like many of you didn’t notice that the young lady in the green shirt from the 2nd highest viewed video, with the music teacher had malformed hands and was still able to play that sick beat.
"Top Secret" is probably the biggest "flash" drum corps out there. They're a show, more than a conventional drum corps, and travel around the world performing at tattoos and the like. The lovely hats, meanwhile, is from their heritage. They're from Basel in Switzerland, and the origin is from the Basler Fasnacht, an annual carnival-type show.
6:59 Josivaldo Santos! He's a drum teacher from Brasilia, Brazil. He is one of the best in the game, amazing teacher and has some sick chops. And he teaches with such passion, it irradiates to his students. And the first place, the most viewed video, is Joe Porter, Sam. He's a percussionist and plays percussion instruments from all over the world! Check him out!

@@SlyHikari03 Yeah, all arabic rythyms have different names such as Baladi , Saiidi, Malfouf (laf) , hijaz which are popular and originated mostly from egypt and the levant, and there is khaleeji from the Gulf also.
If you liked the hammered dulcimer check out Botanist. They’re an experimental black metal band out of the Bay Area that uses distorted hammered dulcimer instead of guitars, makes for a really unique bright and hypnotizing sound. All their music is themed around plants taking over and replacing humanity too.

@andrew77961 Thank you. I should have been more specific. I was looking for 66Samus to do one like this with TH-cam content. To watch a drum video by views and not see Danny Carey or Portnoy playing Pneuma is off-putting. 66Samus' Led Zeppelin drumeo could be up on that list over time, I feel 🤘
You see that short of 'how to get fired from a drumming gig' and as there's a break before the singer comes in he hits this loony tunes anvil drop hit 'donk!' and the singer can't breathe. Dude's a legend for that clip. The drummer just trolls the band through the performance like a wrestler trying to get another to break character.
I've seen those videos where they play one song on multiple percussion intruments. I don't know if I ever saw the Old Spice one so that was cool. Also the marching band cannon reminded me of AC/DC, "For those about to rock...FIRE!" *cannon blast*
The Swiss "Top Secret" drum corps have played the Royal military tattoo here in Northern Ireland lots of times and they really are something else.Lots of great vids on yt.✌️🥁🤘
New Sub here. I know nothing about drums. But my 4 year old has just gotten his first set. Here to learn. Any TH-cam's or videos for numb drummer dads much appreciated. 😂. 🤘🤘🤘
It got 50 million cause it's a kid. And people thought the little drummer boy was adorable. It puts a smile on people faces when they see the younger generations learning something instead of playing videogame all day.
I never spent much time with my mom's parents. I loved them yes but my parents were more into the auto counter culture in southern Cali in the 70s and 80s seeing as how my dad was a master mechanic with a whole book of certificates on fixing anything mechanical and my grandparents were as straight laced as can be.i would get bored being around them too long. I loved playing guitar and hearing rock, metal, blues, anything with good guitar in it. About 14years ago my visiting aunt talked about my last great aunt died. My grandma had four sisters five brothers and I learned they had their own band.im like wait what. I asked what did she sing since it was like a church social band in their small Oklahoma town. My aunt says no she played guitar. My head whipped around I'm like wait what? Then my mom says yeah she was good. My aunt pulled out an old photo of the band of bros sisters and grandma front and center with an old martin guitar. Then it hit me. When I was six before I really got into music I stayed the weekend at grandparents house and found an old guitar in their attic in the case. I asked Grandma is this uncle Bobby's guitar ? She just says don't you worry bout that just grab the hangers and come back down. When my aunt told me no that was hers. None of us four kids never played guitar. Hearing this made me a bit sad because when I first was starting learning guitar I had a teacher in the family who would have gladly taught me plus I felt sad I should have known my grandparents better. Spent more time with them.
