    I purchased the Concert S for the very same reason. It's my road/travel/outdoor guitar and it sounds amazing. The top on mine is Western Red Cedar with Mahogany back and sides. I believe the one you're demoing is as well, in fact, I'm 99% sure it is simply because of the way it sounds. It's a little deeper and more mellow than spruce. Thanks for showing Breedlove some love as they really deserve it.

      If I ever have a good reason for it I'll look at their $2,000 dollar version of this guitar. I think the only good reason would be if I was in an actual band that made money. In the meantime I'll enjoy the great sounding, great playing version I have now!

    Most excellent review! I must give these a closer look. Wonderful tone, and looks like great playability, and I like the compact size without a compact sound. It broadcasts very well. Thanks for the review, and most of all thanks for the show at the end!
    You definitely got the touch and talent! You rock!!!

      I like it so much I keep looking at the US made ones but for the money I just can't think it's going to sound much better than my $450 Concertina.

      @@billyhellmaker your absolutely right I found a premier use for 350....all solid wood . We are living in the Acoustic guitar heyday.. I feel sorry for the guitar snobs for all the good guitars there going to miss because they don't have the right name or because they weren't made in the right country or because they don't cost enough.......

    I have a $1000 Breedlove Import, an AD25/SR, every time I play it, people are always coming up to me asking about it because they are so impressed with how it sounds

    Great review my man. I currently have a Taylor mini for travel, campfires and the beach. I'm just not "wowed by it." I don't if you've messed with them...... I'm wondering if the Breedlove is a better road to travel. Thank you sir...

      I haven't played a Taylor Mini is years but I would head over to Guitar Center (seem to usually have more than a few to try) and play a few Breedloves. Be sure to try the concertina size. I took my Concertina with me to the beach. We were going to be there with a well known blues guitar player. One morning he picked up my Concertina and started playing. We both own very old and funky (cool) guitars. The Breedlove is not old or funky. I told him that is my cheapest and most favorite acoustic. He loved it too. I'm now looking for a Sweetgrass Concert size Breedlove.

      @@billyhellmaker I have a DR-100 Epiphone Acoustic and I upgraded to a Graphtec for the neck and bone saddle for the bridge, and cut the notch deeper into the rosewood bridge plate, and turned the notched pegs around for a tighter fit and it plays pretty fair, but I still think I want a more playable acoustic.

    Thank you for playing and not banging on the ax. So many just pound away. You let her sing.

      I appreciate that. I'm around so many pro pickers here in Nashville I'm always down on my own playing, so I'll take the compliment!

    I want the concertina but over in England they cost so much and because of the pandemic I won’t be back in north am for a while 😭

    I love that Concertina! How does it hold up live? I would be using it at church and for outdoor gigs, probably with the Fishman Presys I, not sure I'd mess with other pickups.

    • @sebastiangomezmusic
      @sebastiangomezmusic 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Or even with the Breetdlove Natural pickup? I don't know if you have experience with that one.

    I developed injury induced frozen shoulder in march 2020. Couldn't play for 18 months. for those who don't know, frozen should hurts like a mother.

      That is a DY 57. I talk Guitar Center out of it for $300 (WHAT?>!!!_). I think it had 10 year old strings on it so it must have just come in.

    What is your favorite acoustic amp? Why?

    • @billyhellmaker
      @billyhellmaker  ปีที่แล้ว

      Currently I play my acoustics through a Fishman Loud-x Artist. I have run my guitars through preamp boxes, through the Helix and other things into the Fishman. These days I plug directly into the Fishman. I played around with HX acoustic IRs. They were cool but I prefer plugging straight in. I have been looking at some high-end preamps but haven't pulled the trigger yet. WHY THE FISHMAN - The Fishman just gives me back a natural acoustic tone. There are effects on it but I just use some slight delay. We were at a show the other night and the artist clicked into a very "affected" sound. It was a total disconnect for my wife and I. After that I try to keep my acoustic sound like an an acoustic. ONE MORE THING - I still play Concertina almost 100% of the time. I keep bringing out the old Gibsons but I just like the way the Concertina plays, feels and sounds. Artist Oliver Wood picked it up and started finger picking on it. He wanted to know why he didn't know about this one. It's my least cool guitar but I explained it is apparently my favorite. He really like it too. I have considered taking a Scotch pad to the body but I can't bring myself to do it.
