That shifts. Once you have driven there long enough, memory is not a problem at all. Pushing the limit still gets no easier because there are so many very fast corners at the track where you have to commit to the absolute limit or loose big amounts of time.

The most valuable are the insights about the car handling, Both car and track are zero tolerance for mistakes, is pretty easy to throw away a good lap. Reminds me a lot GT4 last license test - Mercedes Mclaren at this track.... I remember to this day that gold!

I did over 16,000 km on Nordschleife in GT6 and I was thinking that I knew every inch of the track. But in this time trial, I even had to give it everything for a silly silver medal. It's impossible for me to get under 7.47 and this is still 17 seconds behind the current leader... Now it's officially confirmed that I've wasted my life! 😅
If you have the time and effort to practice for Nordschleife all along, the only thing missing, according to my experience, would be a systematic way of training for consistency and rectification of wrong understanding of the track. I have done probably 400 to 500 laps of the track (that includes all the sector training at Circuit Experiences) and I have been driving on auto shift with pad acceleration (the X and the square) all along. At the start, I realized that I can improve by learning the sectors at the CE with the demo ghost, and to observe where I am losing time compared with it. Then once I got a gold time, I went on to ensure that it was no luck (i.e. consistency) by scoring 3 straight golds before moving on. Then, once I repeat the same for the remaining 10 sectors, before going for the full lap (but in fact, for 1 or 2 sectors, I could only got an inconsistent gold). As you could imagine, the full lap is a bigger punishment than the sectors, but I nevertheless made the gold at the end, and at one point even doing so on manual shift with a better time (I am not cut out for MT, just in case you don't understand what I am trying to say, and I only managed a better CE lap time on MT here so far). So now coming back to this Time Trial, I am thankfully within a very marginal provisional gold time at the moment - and although I will lose it with the slightest improvement on the top time, it's still better than not making it to where I am. This car is very unpleasant to drive to be honest, especially its stiff suspension, but I can assure you that if you can improve your track knowledge with the CE, getting a silver here is just a matter of training for consistency.

On a full lap, I managed to do a high 6'32 with the BMW M6 GT3. That's around 12 seconds behind the fastest guys and almost exactly the 3% gap which would be required to get gold in a time trial challenge. But in this time trial with the classic Porsche, it appears to be a lot more challenging to get within the 3% gap of the leader. Due to the tricky handling of the car, I have problems to drive it precisely on the limit. I'm either much too slow or I will use one of the dozens of opportunities to throw the car away... I can now consistently do silver times without great effort, but gold is out of reach for me here.

There were at least 3 times I threw it all away at the end of the final straight and really doubted myself, but eventually got to where I am. Let's hope P1 cannot push the cut-off further in the remaining days (P1 and P2 are still attempting as of yesterday midnight). This car isn't easy indeed, because of its stiff suspension that bounces the car easily, and combined with the choice of tyres and track, it offers very limited room for errors. I believe we have a similar degree of familiarity at the Nordschelife as our CE best time are both in the range of 6:32. It really is about getting used to the car and being consistent. BTW, the BMW M6 GT3 now feels a lot more grippy to drive 😅.

I usually try to avoid this track like the plague but I'm very thankful for you making this video. I'm positive that this is going to improve my time massively. I'm confident that you are going to help me shave over 20 seconds off of my time right now. I was shocked I was able to complete the lap and put down a time in the first place but now I'm going to get at least a silver, I'm sure. Your lap guides help me tremendously, every time. Easy, they cut corners much more, brake much less and acelerate much earlier. The question should be, how can they control the car whilst cutting corners with curbs the size of building that unseatle the car...
its a nighmare haha - been doing it over 30-40 laps and sometimes i still forget which one comes haha. But silver it is pretty much in i did 6 seconds under silver - yet long way to gold more like of a bravery question id say.
I keep missing the gold for one stupid mistake everytime placed randomly along the lap, so far I did a 7.57 but I'm pretty sure I could shave 4 or 5 secs off
dude, I hope I can have the luxury (in terms of time and strength and skills) to do a 24h Nordschelife too, and this guy said he's not a specialist after that (well although I remember him doing it on the RB X2019, which is very different from this car)

That one corner at 6:35 or something is called “3-fach rechts” - or 3-fold-right. I was told you can take it in one constant radius.

You can create your own time trial if it's gone, you just won't get the money for it

Why is a lap invalidated. They should just have it as a penalty like a normal race. The invalidated lap is stupid.
Invalidating is better normally on most time trials. This is probably that exception to be fair.
