My husband and I live in Indianola ,Iowa (middle of the USA…farmbelt). We are on Vizsla 4 and five in our lifetime. Needless to say I enjoy your videos!!! Our two brothers are both males with different body types and different personalities. Our first Vizsla was a real hunter and spent many hours hunting pheasants and bringing them back to Bob. He pointed his first game when he was 6 months old! Bob walked up to him flushed the bird and got it!!! He rung his neck and gave the pup the head!!! What a proud day for the dog and his hunter! We’re almost 80 now and these two are house pets with a large fenced in yard! They are called a Velco babies as they are happiest when touching our sides on the Davenport! They’re 7 years old and starting to get white muzzles. All my grandparents are from Norway…Voss and Sand is all I’m sure about. Good luck with your girl! ❤️🤗

So lovely to watch your story with Vilja. We have just got our wee Hungarian Vizsla. We have called her Mei (which means ‘beautiful’ in Mandarin) She is just over 9weeks old and has a beautiful temperament. We live in rural dairy farming country in the north island of New Zealand. I will try to send photos on Instagram.🐾💗🌿
My Vizsla Elsa ist now 10 years old, still walks/runs 10km in the morning with me and 3-4 km in the afternoon. Never ending energy. The jumping on strangers became less with 5 years. You will have incredible fun with your vizsla. And never miss giving her your love.

She is a beautiful dog in looks and personality. You are all very lucky to have each other and live in such a beautiful place. I thoroughly enjoy your videos and seeing her develop. Vizslas definitely have their goofy moments. It made me laugh when she waved goodbye 😀😀😀🐾🐾🐾

Our Vizsla will be coming home the first week of June. We will be training her for hunting as well. Love seeing your puppy grow up and your adventures with her.

Enjoyed your video of your vizsla, she is beautiful! We have a 3-year-old male vizsla , Tucker. We live in a cabin high upon 10 wooded acres. Tucker has never attempted to stray from our property, & runs freely chasing animals & exploring, but always keeps us in sight or earshot. He loves people & other dogs & enjoys watching all animals on the tv & playing with his sister cat Bella. He will perform tricks & heal for a treat, but definitely periodically thinks whether he wants to obey a command without one.. 🤔 He makes a game out of everything..especially stealing dad's clothing. 🤦♀️ Your beautiful home and Island property must be Paradise & I am sure your vizsla is in love with it! She definitely is in love with you both and I can see that love is mutual😍 Thank you so much for sharing your lives & hers with us. Life with a vizsla is a unique experience 😊❣️
Vilja is beautiful. We are looking for our first Vizsla and hope to get one in the next few months. Your updates are wonderful and are a great way for us to learn more about daily life with the breed.
Thanks for the update! Looks like she is having a great life and she is also adding to yours! Our Vizsla, is 1 month younger...I can relate to the puppy bites on the hands...can’t wait til that is over. Our V, Honey, is smart, funny, energetic...such a great addition to our family...typical of a V!

We’ve had a male Vizsla for two weeks now, he’s nearly 14 weeks old and a real handful but such a character and so intelligent, sleeps through the night and has done from day one, hates his cage and don’t think he ever will like it.
Puppies are hard work.
Love it! She must've run all day to be that calm on that table :) Good luck with teaching her not to jump at people. This was the only thing we failed with ours. They just cannot control the happiness. Again, great video. Wery well shot, and postprocessed. And she is a cutie princess.

When she jumps at you or other people just turn away from here and ignore her maybe this will work.

Something no one ever seams to mention is how good they smell, they smell as good as they look. Most dogs eventually get an odor if they’re not bathe every month. I would say I have to look. hard and think hard to find a bad trait in a Vizsla. And that beautiful golden rust coat is just absolutely stunningly beautiful. Love Love Love Vizslas. She adds to the beauty of your park like home and the lovely couple that you two are.
I want to get one, but they seem like a ton of work. 2-3 HOURS of exercise a day is A LOT. I don't want to get one if I can't provide a good home that will make one happy.
What a wonderful puppy you have. It is great to see she is doing well. I am happy to announce that we will be welcoming our puppy on april 12th. Very much looking forward to that. Hope we will have as a good time with our puppy as you have with Vilja. Our puppy will be named Sep.

I'm not sure what I like most, your puppy or where you live!! We let go of our Vizsla last month aged 14 years and five weeks which was awful but expected, she was a beautifully natured and beautiful looking dog. We will probably have another (or 2) one day. My grandmother was from Stavanger (I am English) so we have some shared heritage (and I hate hot weather, love snow) so have always loved looking at and hearing about Norway, your place is just beautiful. So am subscribing for the two reasons above! Looking forward to reading the posts... :)
Beautiful girl, great filming! We've had 2 Vizslas, both lived to 14. We would just put our knee up when they try to jump on you. Makes its hard for them to reach you and they lose interest. You're not trying to hit them with your knee, just providing a barrier. I think it might be time for #3 - love this breed, so sweet and smart!

My v, Zora, is 7 mos old and I love your videos! Having people turn away when she jumps up is a great way to discourage the jumping, but that is hard to enforce with strangers. I have worked hard to make sure I don't reward her jumping on me (no matter how much I love it). And when I take her off leash where she interacts with people I make a point of reminding her "no jump, Zora" when we come across people and make a big deal and reward her when she greets people appropriately - and no treats when she does jump. She has gotten a lot better!
Same with us. As it's what their mum would do if they had enough.

Your videos are great! I had a Vizsla that died at the age of 13. it is still fresh and i miss him so much! he died on august 15th 2020 (terrible year).
My parents want to get again a new Vizsla puppy and start again this amazing journey.

Anyone have any recommendations for the best book to buy regarding dog training for a Vizsla?
With my Vizsla Aspen (female now almost 2yo) we were able to not stop the biting necessarily but taught her not to actually bite down. She will still put her mouth an you but she is very gentle most of the time. So that might be a good idea for you to try is to reinforce a habit of her having a softer bite when she puts her mouth on your hand. We can’t stop Aspen from mouthing us because for some reason she just loves watches😊. It’s pretty funny actually.
Our female V is almost 5 months and agree - growing too fast! Vilja is beautiful.

We are looking for a new dog. 3yrs ago, our beagle died. One thing our beale couldn't do, is being left alone for a couple of hours. How is that like with a Vizsla? (If you have any experience with that?)
What a lovely Vizsla. Ma suggestion. When a puppy bites you playfully and it hurts, immediatelly express your pain. The puppy will react on your pain with biting you again but very softly to show you it has understand your message. (So never suppress your pain! It sends the wrong message)
What are the range of cost for this breed?

Hello and good Day. My vizsla is now almost 5 months and the weight is 23 kilo its, a male dog. He is growing so fast, my other male vizsla wass 31 kilo max. This one will be bigger.

Thank you! Well she has met 2 cats, who are not so fond of dogs. So she runs agains them and they run away... So i guess we could say not great. She gets to eager and the cats sees her as a threat.

Oh yes!please show how you train her not to jump on people.It is a real problem!We are also 5months.But it is a big problem already
She looks a bit cold when out in the snow, from the way she holds her paws. How do you think she is dealing with the cold weather?
Yes that is correct! When we go out she always has clothes on her. The few pictures when she is shiwering whitout clothes - that was just her morning pee on our yard... we were just outside for a quick moment and she runs to the door when she is ready :)
How long did it take for your vilja to be able to climb down stairs or elevated surfaces? My little vizsla is 12 weeks and still can’t go down😅
We didnt let her climb down the stairs at first... we heard it is not good for their bone structure since it havent fully developed and have som kind of "gap"... I cant really remember exactly but I think it was after 12 weeks :)
"Medium-sized and small-sized breed puppies can do stairs safely at the age of 12 weeks. However, large-sized breed puppies aren’t supposed to do stairs until they are at least 16 weeks.
That’s because large-sized dogs are very prone to Hip Dysplasia, which can harm him if he kept doing stairs at a young age." :)

Our Vizsla is 5 months and a half.
He is having a huge amount of energy, and we can't wait for better weather, so we move him to the garden in order to be able to consume the energy more.

If your dog is still jumping up on his back legs to greet people, tell you visitors to turn their backs to the dog. If you dont pay attention face on, the dog will learn not to do it.
50 kilos..?? lol Im not so sure about that. 50 kilos =110lbs
