This takes the idea of “Zero Growths” to a whole new extreme. Mad props for you doing this insane challenge in Engage. Being at a severe disadvantage, you really need to really understand all the in’s-and-out’s of Engage’s mechanics and tools you need to win.
Now I wish Intsys had given us a cutscene of alear + the other immortal royals jumping through the church windows, and made it the most overly dramatic thing ever.
This was a crazy impressive run. Great job. Though, I was a little disappointed that Halberdier didn't make an appearance here. I figured this sort of run would be perfect for it, since 0 stat units can't double normally. I could imagine running a core strike team in the later maps comprised of: Halberdier with Eirika, inheriting Divine Pulse+ and Hold Out(with some number of +'s) Alear (Thief or Wolf Knight) with Lucina, inheriting Lunar Brace and Hold Out Seadall, inheriting Canter and Quality Time(+) Anyone with Byleth, inheriting Quality Time(+) and whatever Hortensia with Micaiah, inheriting whatever Anyone with Celica, inheriting whatever The core idea is the Celica holder Warp Ragnaroks in behind the boss to set up Pincer Attack, then you Warp or Rewarp in with the remaining units. Alear positions 2 tiles away from the boss, then attacks with a +hit engraved Short Knife+4 (for maximum hit rate), poisoning the boss and chipping via Lunar Brace. The Halberdier can now enter the tile directly in front of the boss and *quad* with a +40 hit-engraved Brave Lance+1, inflicting 30% of the target's Def (Eclipse Brace+), 5 flat damage (Blue Skies+), 3 flat damage (Alear passive), and 1 flat damage (poison) all as true damage, also triggering a dagger chain attack, which inflicts another stack of poison so the next attack does even more damage. Seadall and the Byleth holder give the Halberdier up to four attacks against the boss. Seadall can't trigger Quality Time *and* reposition for Goddess Dance at the same time, so a random Physic user can heal the Halberdier back into Hold Out range after the first attack, and Quality Time can heal them after the second and third attacks. Four rounds of 4x Brave Lance is enough to kill every boss in the game, including Sombron (with max poison stacks). I don't know if this is more consistent than just rigging 40% crits all day, but with the right supports, it probably is. I've also never tested whether Pincer Attack works against Sombron, so you might still need to rely on crits there.
Well that made me feel at least a little bad for having to focus to deal with maps in a normal maddening run. Congratulations, though. That was extremely solid.
I did not think this run was possible, congrats how such an insane accomplishment. It looked very difficult and the strategies you came up with were fun. Look forward to next challenge run.
Early maps: move Clanne to a specific spot so they move as far they can without being attacked by Lumera but being followed by the archer who'd insta-kill anyone else. Later maps: SPIN

I did a arts only challenge and lunar brace was my saving grace Glad im not the only one who found out lunar brace was sick for low damage characters xd
I remember I turned my fogado into a martial master and when I put lunar brace and flashing fist on him he went from a staffbot with tome/dagger break utility to a hard carry, one rounding basically everything. Eirika ring is so cracked for anything with brave effect!
Your video idea is great and your ideas while editing were good, the video as a whole is cool. I think that you could have made it better by trying to pace it better and make more of your work though. I get that you were probably worried about video length, but for example in the first chapters it was kind of a surprise how many hours you said you spent over chapters that only lasted a few minutes without really commiting to any drama or nuanced storytelling. It was like you kept the same tone of voice, but the words you said sounded like you could have definitely have delivered it in a more intriguing way and the script was written with that in mind. I like your voice style (you kinda sound a bit like Dragoon) but I also think you're either talking too fast to get through your script, or there's just a lack of variance or emphasis? I don't want to like make an undue comparison, but if you watch a smallant challenge video for example, he tries to weave in a narrative to captivate the audience and you can hear it in how his tone fluctuates. I apologize if this is like patronizing, but I really respect the work you put in and think you could have gotten more out of your material. I hope the vid does well nonetheless
Is it possible for doing no levelups challenge? You can't levelup on each maps including DLC maps, but you may use one seal to reset exp after each maps. Of cousre it will keep all chars stay initial stats.
Its funny how they use the "Lunar Brace" name and "Solar Brace" name to give Eirika/Ephraim Luna and Sol-like effects in FEH and Engage... yet they do absolutely nothing like that in Sacred Stones. If Eirika actually had a Luna effect she'd probably be far better of a unit in Sacred Stones. Its really strange in fact because they could have given Eirika and Ephraim class skills as well once promoted but they didn't (and class skills are usually given to classes with more limited weapon options in Sacred Stones).
I actually did something like this.... only in Fates..... where i had to beat the game with only a Class called Out releam Class. i had to legit kill all enemies with only skills and basically no stats lol ( i did decide to give Azura and corrin to my normal levels 7 for corrin and 10 for azura before starting and Kaze to 7 for conquest ) and it was stil extremely brutal. you should try it :)
The way the run becomes easier as you progress says a lot about how unbalanced certain skills/weapons/items are. Astra storm and AOE warp are obvious but I've never liked how strong flame dragon vein and lunar brace are. Everyone knows emblems are busted too but imo engravings don't get enough flak for how they trivialize the hit, crit and avoid stats. Anyways for anyone who feels like they have already solved the game and want a fresh playthrough, I recommend a challenge run that bans emblems and any related game mechanic, but with mods that enable free reclassing and more deployment slots. This gives more incentive to have a varied army with tank and support classes instead of offense spam since hit and crit are hard to come by. Also the game becomes less alpha strikey and more of a long drawn out battle, the way a war game ought to be.
The question is "Is it *possible*?". Given the mod he used just rigs the RNG, any outcome he got with it is technically possible to get without it. Beating CH3 without the mod may be less likely than winning the lottery, but it's still proven to be *possible*.
@@Syrahl696 Not every RNG sequence is possible in game, so a mod that forces perfect combat (crit and dodge whenever possible) always faces a potential issue of legitimacy. For example, in GBA FE you can never dodge a 99% displayed hit and then land a 1% hit with 1% crit. Not saying this must be the situation for the C3 clear here, but it is a real concern when the clear involves too many crits
Congrats you make the video fun , but hacking is present even more than you clarify to complete this, hit rates would be crazy low to even be able to pass middle game chapters, it’s not possible
@aroB777 Do some research with the Hit Rate Equations of Engage before you assume something. Hit Rates are not going to be THAT low like you assume they are. Weapon Accuracy: Hit + (Dexterity × 2) + (Luck / 2) + (Support bonus) + (Extra Skills Bonus) Avoid: (Speed × 2) + (Luck / 2) + (Terrain bonus × Class type bonus) + (Support bonus) + (Extra Skills bonus) This might be surprising to hear, but Engage Enemies are not built to be Avoid Tanks. They only factor in the stats of each unit separately, not the difference between them. A unit with Zero Stats still can have ~100 Hit alone to work with from the weapon they are using, which is more than enough to hit Enemies who have simple AI to rush if angered. It's called optimizing.
The challenge seems great until you realize that your weapons are what’s really saving you, so what about an Arts(fists) only run so you can prove that even the weakest weapon type can be used for challenge runs
Assuming you mean on an unmodified game, it sounds... doable, but the early game would be awful. This is basically a Framme-only run until you can reclass, and it also shuts down most engage attacks. Even Alear would have to reclass to be allowed to attack, since they don't get access to arts until they promote. If you can survive long enough to get Eirika, it becomes easy, as you just give everyone Lunar Brace and win the game.
You did hear that it took them 25 hours to beat chapter 2 alone, right? Trying to get them to do anything more restrictive and insane than this has to be against some part of the Geneva convention
@@caliburnleaf9323 If you enable Dlc then you’re able to use Tiki to give your units arts proficiency so you can reclass your units earlier (assuming that doing the paralouge with such few units and so early on is possible). Also, you get Jean pretty early-ish on so after the hell that would be the first five chapters you can get a pretty good team of four.

Assuming you still allow chain guard (with your other allies unequipped), you can cheese Framme to lv20 as early as ch.4, which should make the rest of the early game possible, with or without DLC. I'm not really sure how you *get* to that point with solo Framme though. The super early chapters where the game expects you to use all your available resources just sound like a nightmare.
