It seems like beauty moves really fast. In today and Out tomorrow. What really sucks is when you find a product you really, really like and it gets discontinued because it’s not the IN thing anymore.
@laikanbarth I 💯 agree with you! Beauty moves so fast! There’s been so many great products a brand will put out but then will discontinue the product to make room for NEW products! I recently moved from California to Washington and my moving company unfortunately lost and damaged so much of my stuff including almost all of my makeup, my skincare, brushes hair tools etc….and when Kelly pulled the ABH Sultry eyeshadow palette I loved that palette. It was lost with my movers. I know ABH just released a small version of the Sultry palette. I think ABH should have re-released the Sultry palette instead of the small palette.
I totally agree The sultry palette was a huge loss I get the companies have to make a profit. It just sucks for us girlies that like to use the same products. I for one HATE having to try new things that preform in the same fashion as the old stuff I liked that was discontinued
I feel like that's the story of my life. I like something and really get into it and then it's discontinued right from under my feet! Something that still stings was the original Makeup Forever HD foundation formula. The formula they changed in the early 20teens. I used that for everything (in cheer, had events, worked on filming sets) because it looked good on my skin and shade 123 was PERFECT for me. When they reformulated and said the alternative was shade Y(ellow) whatever, I swatched it with a patch of what I already owned next to it, and was like, "no, that's yellow and I am olive." I've definitely changed my spending habits and ingredient preferences since then, but that still annoys me when I think about it for too long.
@lalacarroll431 Ughh..I know! The Sultry and purple Norvina palettes! Also, Im dry..and I have been so HAPPY the past few years that the beauty/skincare industry has caught onto moisture and "glowy" products. I'm so scared certain products will go away..Kosas already removed my beloved tinted oil foundation. I stocked up when they put them on sale.
It does suck because Im the type of person who definitely revisits certain products for years. Yes I do in fact try new things but if I know I like something and it works and it does exactly what I need it to do and look how I need it to look, I will continue to repurchase it for years.
Personally, I think this may be the difference between what’s on TH-cam versus those of that aren’t on TH-cam/social media. The UD primer potion changed my eye shadow game a decade ago and it’s still my holy grail. It’s the only primer I’ve tried that prevents my eyeshadow from creasing (I have very oily skin/lids). It’s always in my collection. Same is true for some of the other items you mentioned for me. I just think that online, people have to hype up new products instead and forget about older ones even if they are still good products. Interesting video ❤
I only recently came to use UD primer potion. If my best friend didn't tell me about it recently I would've still used Shadow Insurance from Too Faced. I love this product
Fenty is still very much relevant the gloss stain was sold out for ages, the eaze drops then the stick went viral, the gloss bombs remain iconic and the diamond highlighter has become viral again
I was absolutely expecting you to choose Laura Mercier powder. It was on EVERYone’s face. The Hourglass stick foundation. Better Than Sex mascara. ABH matte liquid lipsticks.
@@lalasarchive1 I still used some of their products in rotation. I have a ton of their lipsticks & several other products. I use Fix+ everyday & one of my favorite blushes is also by MAC.
Coty Airspun for the win! Being viral since “viral” referred to things like polio and mumps! 1935 beauty “influencers” like Jean Harlow, Joan Crawford and Constance Bennett all used this stuff, and it smelled so good due to a little help from the popular perfume that the 1905 It Girls swore by (Evelyn Nesbit, Lantelme, Mata Hari and various Gibson Girls era) called L’Origan by Coty. So yeah, Airspun has been bringing its A game for a very long time.
Products I still use weekly as my work makeup: Smashbox primer, Fenty foundation (applied with k-beauty spatula so it's low coverage), Too faced concealer, UD primer potion, UD all nighter setting spray. These products are just unbeatable for my oily skin. I live in Florida, nothing else survives more than 4h.
Personally, I still go back to my collection of Tarte Amazonian Clay blushes. Of course I’ve purchased many other brands/forms of blushes, but Tarte still reigns supreme for me. In fact, there are few colors of it that I’ve purchased extras of for my travel makeup case. Just can’t beat them!
Love this! Many of us loved and still use the older products! Would actually love this to be a bit of a series, but i dont know how practical that would be for you because i know you declutter regularly
Kelly, I immediately thought of the UD Stay Naked foundation, which I still love for being thin, natural matte and high coverage. You used to talk about it all the time, but no longer. I try new foundations all the time but still go back to that.
It’s funny because working in retail, you can def know who’s online and who’s not. The truth is that young women and girls run the world. When I was growing up it was the girls in their 20s sharing their tips, now it’s pre teen girls that beg their mothers for beauty products. @@tomjones2157She didn't say that. I've noticed it with fashion too bc you can tell who gets their shopping advice on tiktok (yes tiktok specifically) vs those who don't in real life
i loved the power play concealer so much, it kept getting harder & harder to find & appears to not exist anymore so i finally moved on but i still miss it!!!
I used two of those Fenty foundations. Not my style anymore but I wore it almost exclusively when I worked on cruise ships in the Caribbean. Can confirm the wear time is amazing
Products that made so many “favorite” or “best” lists but are no longer talked about: Artis makeup brushes, Lorac palettes, Bare Mineral powder foundation, NARS orgasm & laguna, Shapetape
Loved this!! Pulling out Sultry is like pulling out an Antique!! This palette is just gorgeous, especially this time of year!! Such a pretty look on you💕
Fenty's shade range was revolutionary, but lets be real, that foundation formula was cakey as helllllll if your skin was average-to-dry, and the hydrating version wasn't really hydrating at all and was only slightly better than the OG Matte. I love the Eaze Drop formula tho! I'm sad they got rid of the Mattemoiselle lipsticks. The new satin ones are so boring, the matte formula was way better and had way better shades!
I'm a huge fan of Eaze Drop as well! I have oily skin, tend to get acne quite easily. Eaze Drop is so light, does not clog my pores (i use a tiny bit anyway but still). Was really hard for me to find foundation, that won't make me get more acne.
Fenty was a HUGE deal because they launched a foundation with 40 shades, something only rivaled by MAC, from the very beginning. It changed a lot of the discussions and expectations about shade range.
I loveeee this idea! I feel like we go through makeup so fast that we cannot really keep up with it all! And "it" product goes out so fast and is replaced by new.
Sultry was the palette I bought that got me started in the whole makeup game, TH-cam, trying all the new stuff, really learning about the indie brands, etc. That was my gateway drug! :)
I still use the Urban Decay primer potion, the Physicians Formula butter bronzer and Milani blush in luminoso 😅 they might not be trending anymore but I feel like the quality is still there
When it comes to Fenty Beauty…..the only products keeping the brand relevant are the gloss bombs, and the contour sticks. I don’t know if Rihanna and her team got lazy after a while because they were doing so many new product launches but I feel like that’s what hurt them. I’ve noticed that for the brands that constantly do new product or collection launches….those are the brands that aren’t as talked about, and aren’t highly raved about anymore. Maybe after having 2 kids, and now focusing on the new album….Rihanna isn’t so focused on her makeup brand anymore which is understandable but then have someone else with a more artistic and creative mindset (Priscilla Ono) take over for a while. I mean they’re coming out with a new gloss bomb but shade but it looks like the shade Fussy…..so either they got lazy and didn’t feel like making a new shade completely, or they used the shade Fussy for the pictures.
I love fenty complexion products but alot lately I never reach for my gloss bombs anymore so yeah it's losing its appeal. They need a new direction but update the formulas for her older products like eyeshadow concealer a new setting spray something
Personally, I don’t think they have completely fallen out. Their contour sticks I’m not a fan of but both the cream and powder bronzers are very nice. The foundation too is the one that got us all into skin tints I believe, so it stands close to my heart for that reason. I will say, they seem to be focusing more on releasing skincare, given that it’s trendier now than it was when FB was released. Basically, what I’m trying to say is they seem to be holding onto the trends (therefore their older products are unpopular now) and not quite getting their formula to blow up on the internet, but they are trying.
Nah their bronzers are so amazing, and my mom LOVES the concealer and powder. I think they have a lot of staple, good, repurchase products, some incredible products, like the bronzér for me, and a couple meh/ terrible products.
I think they need to do more colorful releases as they can get colors right for various skin tones. I love their cream blushes so I’d love to see my colored lip products. They can also introduce a new concealer as their current concealer isn’t for dry skin. They have potential to reinvent themselves. Their eyeshadow formula also sucks so there’s that
@@euphoria4502 right, I thought I was the only one who liked their cream blushes. Their concealer I thought sucked regardless of skin type, it separates and doesn’t provide ANY coverage on my dry skin so I thought separation would be even more likely with an oily skin. I haven’t even tried their eyeshadows, the packaging looks cute but the formula doesn’t.
Regarding the 24 and 48 hour comment around 13:48, that remains one of my tests for a product because if I get lost in the woods somewhere overnight, I want to still look my best when the rescue footage inevitably gets posted. Also, I have (and I know this is bad) put on makeup before bed when I knew someone was going to be at my home at an unreasonably early hour.
Just removed my makeup after 14h of wear and saw that 30% of the things I used in the morning were mentioned in this video 😅 Shout-out to the tarte blushes, I've repurchased them a few times 🙈
I am about to fully pan my Becca undereye brightener. I bought it right at the end of Becca being a brand. I'm also panning my too faced concealer right now. lol
I dont really follow makeup trends so I use what works and my fave foundation is Too faced born this way and I do love Fenty gloss bombs and tons of Mac products haha. Everything is far too pricey these days i dont wanna risk something not being great. 💚
A throwback drug store foundation that I discovered was the elf foundation. It was hyped up in 2014. I bought it and I really like it. The wear time is unbelievable, and it's not talked about anymore, just like you said with the products you were using. Too Faced, ABH, Urban Decay, Fenty, Becca were the it brands of the 2010s.
What a blast from the past 😂 how did our skin survive what we used to do to it. 50 layers of makeup and surprisingly we were able to get it off without cleansing balm. Smh. As cherry on top do you remember how everyone used makeup wipes to clean half of their face in the videos? Wipes are truely something I will never miss + snatched eyebrows. Thanks for the video ❤
Ahh! I had the rollerblading Barbie. I got her with my first set of rollerblades in 1991 and thought I was the absolute bomb. Thank you for this video so many childhood memories for me 😊
I still use six of these products on regular basis: UD eye primer, Smashbox primers (photo focus and smoothing), Fenty foundation, Tarte Toasted palette, Laura Mercier powder. I also have Marylou and sometimes feel like dipping in it.
@@berlineczka Think I used the Oliver bronzer, but mostly stuck with Betty Lou since I had the trio pack of Mary Lou, Cindy Lou, and Betty Lou. The only other bronzer I used was the Butter Bronzer from Physician’s Formula
Every time I see a video like this I feel nostalgic and want to buy another Becca champagne pop 😂 part of me will always miss the biiiig powder highlight craze.
Girl I love me some fenty Matchstix still. I do very simple makeup on the day to day and use shimmer Matchstix every time (for highlight and/or blush). On the rare occasions I actually wear foundation, it is Fenty and I use the Matte Matchstix for bronzer/contour. I do love this idea of revisiting old faves or viral products in our collections and need to try playing around with mine! I think it’s definitely a source for inspiration!
Its so bizarre to me that Fenty foundation is considered forgotten now. I guess hype does need to die down eventually, but Fenty’s foundation line was not only massive but it literally changed the beauty industry, especially for much darker skinned people or very pale people. Fenty had the widest range of foundation and concealer shades. Then Suddenly all these other brands were introducing much wider ranges of shades.
Marylou highlighter has a permanent place in my makeup routine. 🩷 It's a perfect neutral sand colour, perfect texture, perfect glow. It can be easily adjusted to be more subtle. I add it to blush, lipbalm when I want some dewy effect etc. In summer I use a big powder puff to add some glow to my shoulders and arms... It's a cult classic. 🩷
Great video, I still use the Urban Decay Primer Potion, i have oily hooded eye lids, so i need something heavy duty ,plus i live down in south Texas . I love the colors in the ABH eyeshadow pallets but i couldn't wear them for that long even in the winter. I returned it ,which broke my heart. I'm still into long wearing makeup, i like the Fenty foundation , but you have to get a lighter cooler looking one to keep it from turning orange.
Love this video! I love the NikkiLArose brush! I use the white fiber side for cream bronzer & the other side for powder blush! It was definitely a brush I had to figure out before I ended up loving it!
It's so funny to watch this as a Brazilian. Here, most of these products were never sold or if they were, they were/are super expensive. Fenty is still hyped here, Smashbox and NYX both left the country, NYX lef, Milani and Tarte were never sold... UD, Anastasia, Too Faced are so expensive most people don't buy them and Catrice, even though is somewhat affordable, isn't really hyped here... LOVED the look, tho.
This video really just showed me how behind I am on trends. Also, I hated the dip brow until mine dried out and then I loved it. I may or may not still use the jar i got in 2017.
Lottie London (where you get those nails you love) has a good dupe for the Becca under eye corrector.. I have the Becca, Catrice, and one other I can’t remember. I think the Catrice is my favourite though. It is the most bendable/not so stiff.
It's funny you mention TF Born This Way concealer, because I just used it for the first time this year (got it in the Ulta 21 Days of Beauty sale) and I love it. It just sits so nicely on my undereye skin. I never liked Shape Tape, though; it was so dry-looking and just never sat nicely. It takes me so long to get through concealer that I always miss the viral makeup when it's viral LOL.
I remember watching videos in high school and everyone had a smash box primer and I couldn’t wait until I could afford one! This also pairs well with the vid you did on viral products vs actual best sellers in stores.
I love and use the Fenty matte foundation religiously. I just bought a bottle of the viral NARS, but the Fenty 150 is an exact match for me and I have a backup❤
I also love the ulta candles as well. Theyre so soft that they put me in a good mood without me knowing n then i realize, oh yea cuz it smells amazing here.
Hi Kelly!! Thank-you for the video! Love the info.. I use the deNona filter pro foundation and it always works well on my fair skin. Still using some of your other mentions. ?? Where do you buy the mixer colours?? Have a lovely day! 😊
I’m so happy about the Nude blushes!!!! My favorite… bronzer or Essence contour is great too with Mocha Havana Lancome blush is so pretty!!!! Perfect with nude more peachy lipliners from Natasha Denona and Dior beige Dansante lipstick Ambiance SIGMA eyeshadow pallet NARS Light reflecting foundation … perfection!!! lol 🤍🤍🤍
I just repurchased Paarty . It took years to use up the mini. I can't find a mini so I got the full size. I will probably be buried with it 😂 . I also have exposed. The difference between the two was enough I felt I needed the both .
I love that lip color. I did buy the Becca color corrector but didn't notice much on me. I use the Urban Decay Eye Primer and still love it. But trying some others, not sure yet if I'll like anything else as much though.
I STILL use and love the too faced chocolate bar, sweet peach, naked 2 & naked 3. And do you remember urban decay naked ultimate basics?! I still keep that one on top of my vanity, lol. And yes I still have back ups of all of these except naked 2, lol.
would love a drug store edition of this- the nyx butter glosses and the pf butter bronzer come to mind
Still use butter bronzer, it's gorgeous for summer
I love my nyx butter gloss better than their lip oil. But definitely want to see a drugstore version of this video
Oooh YES! Definitely the Butter Gloss!
Those nyx glosses are still going strong on tiktok 😅
I ❤ Nyx butter gloss, I use a full tube of tiramisu every year 😂

I am about to fully pan my Becca undereye brightener. I bought it right at the end of Becca being a brand. I'm also panning my too faced concealer right now. lol
I dont really follow makeup trends so I use what works and my fave foundation is Too faced born this way and I do love Fenty gloss bombs and tons of Mac products haha. Everything is far too pricey these days i dont wanna risk something not being great. 💚
I feel like coty airspun and the loose hourglass powder were both really big too
A throwback drug store foundation that I discovered was the elf foundation. It was hyped up in 2014. I bought it and I really like it. The wear time is unbelievable, and it's not talked about anymore, just like you said with the products you were using. Too Faced, ABH, Urban Decay, Fenty, Becca were the it brands of the 2010s.
The beauty motto: buy buy buy new stuff, so bye bye bye old stuff.
I still love the Tarte Amazonian Clay blushes, they’re the only blushes that I actually pan.
Marylou, cindy lou, and the betty lou bronzer. i also loved the frat boy blush the balm had
@@daft_j I absolutely loved the Oliver bronzer they had. It was the absolute best and I still have not found a worthy replacement for it.
I was obsessed with the Too Faced Peach Perfect powder. I went through a full-size and couple mini sizes. Was very sad when they stopped making it.
Lancome has always been my favorite since the 90's. It made me feel so glamorous lol.
I wish wish wish ABH hadn’t released a mini sultry but would have just re released the full sultry again 😭😭
Yes on the Tarte blushes! Still so good!
I still use ABH for my brows and concealer. H3ll I still use MAC blot powder. Use what works and don't follow trends.
I’m super excited to see this Sultry pallet I just ordered it lol I feel like I probably already have it but it’s gorgeous
I hope you love it!
I still use Sultry very often! ♥
Love this! Funny enough, when you mentioned the Tarte blush - I actually wore that exact blush (exposed) on my wedding day 4 years ago!
ABh is my favorite!! I love their eyeshadow formula!
Loved the look at the end. I know trends change but I’m still living in this era.
I still use the RMS no color powder! Such a goodie
you can pry the amber suede match stix from my cold, dead hands!! it's so hard to find a nice cool tone contour.
Girl, your skin is SKINNING.
Oooh great tip! I will keep playing around with it!
Fenty is still hyped and popular
That Nyx bare with me concealer makes a great foundation. As concealer it does absolutely nothing. But its become one of my favorite base products.
Concealer:
In 2016 era it was maybelline instant age rewind and Mac Pro long wear!
This video really just showed me how behind I am on trends.
Also, I hated the dip brow until mine dried out and then I loved it. I may or may not still use the jar i got in 2017.
I think the prominent powder you’re missing was the Hourglass Veil powder?
And the Coty Airspun!
Coty airspun powder! I still use and love it. I have tried so many but always come back to this one
Lottie London (where you get those nails you love) has a good dupe for the Becca under eye corrector.. I have the Becca, Catrice, and one other I can’t remember. I think the Catrice is my favourite though. It is the most bendable/not so stiff.
I just finished my Becca under eye anti fatigue primer, it was so good! I still have a few lipsticks, love the formula!
The fenty hand mask product is SOOO good! Honestly so many of their products are good to great.
the fenty foundation is my favouriteeeeee
It's funny you mention TF Born This Way concealer, because I just used it for the first time this year (got it in the Ulta 21 Days of Beauty sale) and I love it. It just sits so nicely on my undereye skin. I never liked Shape Tape, though; it was so dry-looking and just never sat nicely. It takes me so long to get through concealer that I always miss the viral makeup when it's viral LOL.
I literally just bought that tonight along with the foundation 😅 I’m trying both for the first time, needed something for winter
I remember watching videos in high school and everyone had a smash box primer and I couldn’t wait until I could afford one!
This also pairs well with the vid you did on viral products vs actual best sellers in stores.
Omg the fenty really oxidised so much 😮 but you still made it work!
I love the Fenty Ease drops
I miss these types of videos! I pulled out my modern renaissance palette recently and have been loving it
I love and use the Fenty matte foundation religiously. I just bought a bottle of the viral NARS, but the Fenty 150 is an exact match for me and I have a backup❤
I use the Nyx bare with me concealer serum I quite enjoy it
Love the 2016 look! Please do another full face of glam sometime
I love my tarte Amazonian blush in Paaarty.
Smashbox primer is still my go to favorite
Fenty pro filter is still one of my favorites but i dont miss the breakouts it used to give me
funny because i have some of this stuff still and i bought them in 2018/19
I also love the ulta candles as well.
Perfect with nude more peachy lipliners from Natasha Denona and Dior beige Dansante lipstick Ambiance SIGMA eyeshadow pallet NARS Light reflecting foundation … perfection!!! lol 🤍🤍🤍
What a fun video! You look beautiful as always :)
i still use the brow pomade. it’s still kinda hard to use but it’s the only thing that doesn’t melt off my brows
I just repurchased Paarty . It took years to use up the mini. I can't find a mini so I got the full size. I will probably be buried with it 😂 . I also have exposed. The difference between the two was enough I felt I needed the both .
Love that 1
I still use most except the foundation & primer to this day haha. They’re some of my staples
Loved the concept of this video!
Also Noone talks about Kevin Aucoin anymore
I remember people loving the Cover FX and Glossier lose powders. A bunch of influencers had sponsored content with the glossier one I remember.
I love that lip color. I did buy the Becca color corrector but didn't notice much on me. I use the Urban Decay Eye Primer and still love it. But trying some others, not sure yet if I'll like anything else as much though.
I completely used up my Tarte birthday gift blush in Paarty. I should try it again.
I STILL use and love the too faced chocolate bar, sweet peach, naked 2 & naked 3. And do you remember urban decay naked ultimate basics?! I still keep that one on top of my vanity, lol. And yes I still have back ups of all of these except naked 2, lol.
Here I am still using the smasbox primer, shape tape, Laura mercier powder and urban decay setting spray lol
