      One other thing how thick is the pool noodle and I saw from another reply it also floats because in SA we have a crab problem on the surf beachs

      @@johnclisby8451 pool noodle I adjust depending on bait size, usually 1cmx1cm.

    With a bait that heavy, are you getting any benefit from the floatation, or is it just for bulk? I know with aquid bait you can use the floatation to make it look alive.

      The benifit I get from it is keeping it suspended higher in the water column to avoid rays, this is why I use pool noodle as it has awesome buoyancy

    If a smaller fish bites you will never catch it with this system. Also you have systems to directly have the hook on the release

      Thankyou for the comment. I am slightly disinclined to agree. Small fish still often get caught with single dangles. Whilst there are systems to directly hook onto a release aid they make it a little more difficult to build a really nice bait ( not impossible but not as easy). Also the flotation the dangle offers is vary handy. Both systems have their time and place
