8:33 No, its not "whoever you have most affinity with", the game picks your top two affinity and then puts one on the station and one at constellation and you can save whichever one you go to first.
Truth. Was coming here to say this.
i was about to say this too, saved me the trouble
cheers!
I got Sam my first playthrough. Definitely the most depressing one
Also in NG+, depending on the reality, you can warn them to move the Armillary which results in them all being saved.
another spoiler for the same situation, but if you decide not to defend the artifacts, then the companion who is in the room when the quest starts dies
and the one on the station is saved
for me it was barrett at the HQ, and i saved andreja on the eye
Forward thrust is a must Saves hours
You cant bind it on xbox 😢
It does not always work either, very fickle.
They made a mod for it....even though it already existed...
Geforce now is the biggest perk, I’m playing on my LG TV on ultra settings 60+ fps. Better than xbox.
@@StoneAgeWarfareI'm pretty sure the mod lets you customise how effective it is though to be fair.
Here is an additional tip to help with finding unattached ship parts. After you have selected the whole ship you can then move it and the unattached part will stay in place. This is very helpful when building large ships and you have something inside the hab maze that isn't attached properly.
The personal atmosphere power is great if you're carrying too much. It gives you unlimited o2 for a little while.
That’s pretty much the only power I use lol. I love it
I literally always carry too much. I can hold 165 and just my guns and gear makes me like 120 so I get less than 50 to work with. I end up picking up like 200 to get 330/165 and then hobbling back to my ship and dump after fully exploring an area
@@Kyle-nm1khshould really invest some points into weight lifting. The extra carry weight is really needed. Plus use a mechanized space suit that will give +40 carry weight aswell. There is another affix for packs that gives +20 carry weight but i dont know the name of the affix right now
@LiveAndDie85 I was trying to put points into weightlifting, I got 2 in there. But I had to start putting points to unlock 2nd tier of science so I can modify armor and weapons. And I'm also putting points into security. I'm only like level 12 atm.
However I did somewhat lucky on my Mantis gear. Both my spacesuit and my space pack or helmet have "resources weigh 25% less" so idk if they stack but if they do that's 50%!!
I used this the power to set a new record at the red mile no gravity is too strong for my personal atmosphere😂
Read the loading screen tips, that's how I found out that just having a container of he3 in your outpost increases the range of your grave jumps.
So you connect the helium to a container which is connected to a ship? So you can get +200 helium??
Forward thrust on console is L3 (left stick) pushed in bound by default as far as I can tell because I've been getting around with it for a while now
It makes sense that it would be bound to the default. Total sense. I've not got this far yet, but thanks for sharing.
@@razoraz tbh I was in the boat of not knowing that it was even bound because it isn't listed in the bindings but I found it was so no problem
There is a grade of gear called "Superior" that's even better than Advanced equipment, armor usually drops with the prefix but the weapons have it as a hidden value which is why you can pick up weapons that are "advanced" but have even higher stats. There are also "titanium" type weapons that are lighter and generally much more valuable than the non-titanium ones, that come in every grade.
Likely a typo, they copy and pasted advanced weapons and raised the stats but forgot to rename them.
Titanium, at least, is just a rarity modifier.
Dunno about the Superior grade weapons.
I kinda assumed Superior was for armor and Advanced was for weapons.
I got a good one for those sneak builds.
Go into your scanner page while sneaking around at any point and go into picture mode.
It pauses the game and you can use the camera to peak around corners see where guards are :)
i used this for the stealth missions on neon, without it i dont know if i could have finished it
You can save ALL of the companions in New Game+ by choosing the Starborn dialogue option at the end of the mission "Further Into the Unknown", when you talk to Vladimir. You''ll then start a mission called "Foreknowledge" and move the artifacts to your ship. The Hunter will even appear and tell you how clever you are. You bypass the mission, "High Price To Pay" (the mission that kills one of them) entirely!
Oh that’s cool! Btw I haven’t finished that quest yet, but does this only apply to the follower that is apart of that faction? Or just any follower?
Doing that now so I can save my favourites. Looking forward to any DLC in the future
It saves all constellation companions that can die in the "High price To pay" mission.@@johnmcwick1
Is that work if you chose to Skip the main quest and just farming your power and artifact to go NG more ?
If you skip, the hunter never came as you rushed to get all artifact super fast.
Fun note: if Sam Coe dies in the main story during his memorial, you can talk to his portrait, and one of the final lines is "See you space cowboy" as a great nod to Cowboy Bebop
Stroud-Eklund also has a Staryard in the Narion System.
Not sure if anyone has mentioned it or not but; you can always find an Advanced Urban Eagle in abandoned Helium-3 facilities, usually in level 10-15 systems. It's on a crate in the cave part.
Little glitch I discovered, certain structural parts that have different variations of a single piece that are different sizes can be clipped into other parts, select the smallest part and attach it to where you want the bigger part to be, then attach it the re-select that part and only press the prompted button to switch variants and then just click place without moving anything else and you can clip it into other pieces to look better esthetically.
I'm on xbox so I'm not sure about PC.
i also discovered a similar glich but much more finicky, get a part pretty much pixel perfect as close as you can to a node before it snaps in place and pick it up & put it down a bunch of times quickly and if youre lucky you can get it to snap to the node and clip through the other parts
When you new game plus all the unique vendor weapons will spawn at the quality level that the gun would drop from your character at the point of new game plussing. Example: if vendors are selling the law giver at advanced level and you new game plus, then the unique "head ranger" sold at Laredo will be advanced as well. I recommend leveling up a bit so when you new game plus all sold unique are at advanced level
Oh thanks so much for the tip man
I want to share something my friend had discovered while we were playing Starfield.
In the basement of the Lodge is a sealed display case with a master lock. Inside the case is a Mark I helmet, boost pack and suit. They're pretty dang good, I won't lie.
So... you either have to wait for the time that you have master level security (level 3)... OR... There is an infintismal crack between the door and the case that you can click on the manequin that has the suit on and just... YOINK! The suit straight out of the case.
This suit will protect you well till you can get the Mantis Suit
thank you for the true spoiler warning and giving enough time to actually avoid it. too often content creators will say "spoiler warning" and then immediately spoil things without even a moment of pause. much appreciated.
For the weapon rarities, there is a 5th in the code. "Superior", but it looks like a bug is preventing its spawn or something like that
From what I've heard, they *are* spawning, but they're still labelled Advanced. So some "Advanced" weapons are actually Superior.
@@GALL0WSHUM0R I have also heard this, stats seem to support this theory also
5:20 I have also found "Superior" items which are even better than "Advanced"
Yes, this seems to be a pretty glaring omission
Weapons? I have seen armor, but no weapons.
For me it was Barrett which made total sense to me for him to become starborn since he's the only other person in constellation to touch the artifacts. Super cool that this is dynamic though. I didn't realize. Kind of looking forward to my next playthrough now.
If you are high enough level, every gun will spawn an advanced version. I have a 3 star rattler, a 2 star eon, and a no star equinox. Check the gun merchants. Especially Akila. I am starting to get superior versions of armor. Rare, but is happening. I thought maybe the weapons would go up to superior as well. Guess not?
Sad, no unique weapons just reskins and stat improvements to existing ones, borderlands does it better
When flying in space, the thrust mode also allows you to change the direction your ship faces without changing its velocity vector. This means you can literally fly backwards and shoot at pursuers
Amazing.
Interesting
For the emissary its whoever died of your companions. Also for the death its between the top 2 companions, 1 will be on eye, other at lodge. where you go first will make one live and other die, so you can keep Shara alive if you want.
Players can determine the character's fate by selecting either the companion they have the strongest bond with or the one they have the weakest bond with. If players wish for the companion with the weakest relationship to die, they must complete the Short Sighted quest and speak to Vladimir. Vladimir will then assign the player a mission called No Sudden Moves, pairing them up with the companion they have spent the least amount of time with. After completing the mission and returning to the Lodge, the High Price to Pay mission will commence, where this companion will defend the home of Constellation.
I wish I knew about the unattached ship module before this, spent an hour making a ship and couldnt find what part it was talking about that was not attacheded. Scrapped it and spent about 45 minutes doing it again for it to tell me another part isn't attached 😢
***Spoiler comment***
The companion that dies matters on your choice of going to the eye or staying to defend Constellation. My first game Barrett died. I stayed at Constellation, that play through Barrett was my companion with the second highest affinities, played 3 story missions with him and the rest + sides with Sarah and even married her before completing the main story. New game plus had Sarah for a bit and changed over to Andreja for the entire rest of my playthrough and went to the eye instead and Sarah was the one that died. NG+3 Sam as main and Andreja every so often and stayed to defend Constellation, Andreja died.
If you ng+ you should be able to save them all. I did. No one died in my ng+ or ng+2.
Man, your channel has really come a long way. Great show dude, great.
The best version of any weapon or armor.... is (Superior) only in very hard mode drops 👍
I think superior is only possible on armor and not on weapons. Advanced is best for weapons. Atleast for now
Superior rarely dropping for me on hard.
The item tiers in starfield is Basic>Calibrated>Refined>Advanced>Superior. You forgot the Superior.
Cool tip. If you have never Scanned a Planet or Moon from space or looking at the Universe map, the resources indication will appear “grayed” in color. If you then Scan the Planet or Moon from orbit the resources will now appear colored. This is really cool to know as if you have scanned a lot of Planets or Moons in various systems, you can’t remember if you actually scanned it ir not before. And this is just a great indicator that will not only save you a lot of time, but save you incursions unnecessarily with pirates when you Grav Jump to a Planet or Moon to check.
everytime i watch your starfield vids i always learn something new 100/100
Thanks juice! I literally had no idea any of these features existed!
My Big Bang, fully modded is giving me 900+ combined damage....
FANTASTIC video thanks!
It's so annoying that controller players can't use the alternate boost. One of the biggest complaints pre-launch was that there were no vehicles and they kept citing the boost-pack as a quicker form of movement. I really hope they fix this in a patch. There are keys that have no use while in air, I'm sure they could find a way to map one as an alternative for controller.
Yeah, literally just hitting the crouch button in midair could be a good binding. Or left stick click.
@@GALL0WSHUM0R my thoughts exactly... Destiny 2 did it with the warlock subclass and a Titan exotic had the same function in D1. I think theirs was a double press but it worked all the same.
Before I watch the video, let me just say I greatly appreciate you putting out Starfield videos so often, keeps me content while I'm working lol
4:52 This is one of the funniest things I've seen on this channel thank you
just one thing i dont understand about ship building (havent gotten a chance to play yet so the answer might be obvious).
say i wanted to build a ship that combines parts of specific brands that can only be found at those specific vendors, so not at the landing pad. do i have to fly a half-finished ship to the next vendor to buy the next specific part i want? or is there a way to buy the specific vendor-tied part and attach it later
For whatever reason Bethesda only allows fully configured ships to be stored. You can't have extra parts after or it complains. However, one thing I noticed is that when you delete an item (because you can't have more than one of that type for example), the ship builder list of parts at THAT SAME location will show that you can "rebuy" it and it gives you some credits back. What I don't know is if that option remains once you close out of the builder.
I wish SO much that we could recruit Kaiser. MAN that'd be cool. Also, it is my understanding that each of your two "favorite" followers are split, and whichever one you stay with(or go to) their location will be the one to die.
From what I understand, you have to pick between staying at the Lodge and saving the companion there, or going to The Eye and saving the companion there. The companion I had the MOST affinity with was Andreja and she was on The Eye for the attack. So I left the Lodge immediately and saved her, then Sarah died at the Lodge.
Great tips, solid video. Though as usual, always makes me laugh that you can't help yourself from saying the name of the game 100 times in your videos. Like, we may forget this is about Starfield, so need to keep reminding us 😂😂😅😅 "...in Starfield..."
Also about the spoiler choice you talked about at the end, if you go to the Eye, it changes the outcome to whoever came with you to the collectors ship, who also happens to be your second favorite companion.
@@theodorefilkins3462 If you go to the eye it will be the companion with the second highest affinity at the lodge and if you stay at the lodge it will be the companion with the highest at the eye. For me that meant Sarah and Andreja.
@@theodorefilkins3462 No, absolutely wrong. Sam Coe died in my game, cause I went to the Eye, cause he came with me to the Collector's ship. It can also be Andreja, since she was the Emissary in another game where I avoided death. If Barret and Sarah were your choice, it's cause Barret was the only other person you had ANY positive affinity with.
“How basic do you want your tips?”
JuiceHead: “Yes”
Do you know the definition of “secret” bud?
For me it was barret that died and I did not play once with barret. I pretty much did 50% of my time with Sarah and the other 50 with Andreja.
So idk if that afinity thing works all the time.
Yeah if you Google it, it says your lowest affinity companion
Barret apparently starts with high affinity, but companions will also react to your actions as long as they are nearby regardless of whether they're a follower, a crew member or just sitting around. Conversely, they will not react to your actions if they are not nearby even if they are your follower, so you can just have them wait down the hall if you're about to do something your favourite follower hates.
(I actually wonder if Barret is canonically supposed to be the one that dies there, considering how high his affinity starts and how easily it seems to increase)
Lol at the floating rocks at 5:40 . They've been appearing for me after a few days of playing.
1:38 anyone know why I don’t have this option to "attach" parts that fit to the selected module on xbox? I hover the cursor over the attachment point but no hot key to attach appears?
That alt key for the boost is probably the most useful thing for my preferred combat style. Thank you!
I don’t know if it does so for weapons but space suits go above advanced level I found a superior deep mining suit earlier this week by switching to very hard
For the end, it wasnt Sarah in the suit but Keeper Aquilus. Neat
You can sell organic resource to Noel for a big profit. At least for some items. Can’t remember which dialogue option it is but she asked for resource and buy them more then what there are worth. Example, I brought polymer for 15 credits from UC in my inventory it was a value of 20 but I sold it to Noel for 105 credits each. Though she only carries 3500 credits and I do have commerce rank 4
i love your content ❤
How do I get more reactor power? I have the same class C reactor as you with 29 power but you somehow have 47 power while I only have those 29.
Is the Ryujin quest broken for anyone else? I'm stuck on Background Check and cant seem to trigger it. Anyone know a workaround?
For me, it's not Sarah(Sarah is my wife in-game) who died but Andreja. I went to the Eye instead of protecting the Lodge.
It's your favorite or second favorite depending on if you say or go to the eye
Yeah it really depends where you go not who you have the most affinity towards
Sam was my first starborn. Its been random since because I skipped main story with all NG+ runs
8:00 it’s some how make no sense because for me baret (no idea how to spell him) died for me even after all I was befriended already with Andreja while I wasnt so much progressed with anyone else. I am glad she didn’t died 😂
I’ve never said this but… Thank you Juice ❤
The next most helpfull tip will be how we can extract our ship bluebrint from the save file to use it for another or share.
Bethesda needs to add this asap. On NG+ it took me forever to rebuild my ship
100 hours in, had no clue you could boost pack FORWARD. God I wish I knew that when I started.
It depends if you pick to go to the eye OR stay in the lodge for what NPC is picked to die
I don’t know if it’s your favorite /highest affinity follower that dies during that quest. For me I had Sam die and be my emissary but he was by far my least used follower among them all.
What about the superior class I have full space suit of it. Do wepons also have this 5th class
They seriously need to have vendors with way more credits. When you reach end game and have 100’s of loot but vendors only have 5-11k creds. It’s like torture constantly resetting them. Also please fix the turrets. They do awesome yet so broken.
I had max affinity with Sarah and recently started playing with Sam before that quest. But it ended up being Sam. So I’m not really sure what happened there lol
Do you keep the frontier ship and all its mods iv added
5:19 there's also Superior for weapons, after Advanced. though they might be rare or hard to find.
And legendary
@@Brudergaming well there's two systems, when it comes to legendary's.
a basic legendary is not as good as a Superior legendary or Advanced legendary. that's were people are messing up with the game.
as it goes like this Tier/Quality
Tier: Base > Calibrated > Refined > Advanced > Superior
then you have Quality
Quality: common > Rare > Epic > Legendary
@theonewhowins8608 yeah I'm new lol. The next time I played I realized there's tiers AND qualities. Guess I wasn't paying much attention to names and more focused on colors. I appreciate the write up... Fully understand the logic now!
ok the thing with the companion which is affected most by the relationship doesn't seem to add up... In my first playthrough, I had Sarah Morgen with me ALL THE TIME, I even married her. But in the end it was Barret who died and came back as the Starborn. I never had Barret as a companion for a single second in that playthrough but still he was the one dying. That's why I thought it is either Barret or Sarah who dies depending on your choice where to defend first, the Eye or the Lodge.
For me the emissary was barrett, i had no idea it could be anyone else, its weird tho I definitely had the highest affinity with andreja
i Had Sam die on me on the 1st play though was probs the hardest one to take in cos of Cora
Found an advanced eon drop last night in the island house that is part of andrejas companion quest
I found a planet where sleeping/waiting for an hour is 100 UT hours, and since outpost stuff is based on in game time, sleeping there instantly fills all my storage lol
How do you get artifacts in NG+ if bypassing main missions
If you're using mods and don't mind then there's a mod that allows all space building places to have access to all the parts. Not too cheaty as you still have to buy them and you still need the appropriate skill to fly ships build with said parts.
They have fixed the registration discount from yr inventory, so now it's the same price in both! Happend in the update this week...
Wait, advanced is the max-out for tiers of weapons? Isn’t there a superior or something after advanced?
weapons and armor have 5 quality types, not 4. basic, calibrated, refined, advanced, and superior. superior being very very rare
6:30 the best place to wait/sleep is the Skink. 1 hour is like 120 hours or something. and 24 hours is like 1400 on that planet
Love it king
My first emmesary was Sam, and my hunter was the priest you talk to for unity
I love your vids Juice! Miss hearing "hope to see you all in the next one...later" 😢
There's actually a Superior grade of items above even Advanced, I've only ever encountered one item of this grade after 90 hours of play at level 64.
my playthrough had sam die, that death hit hard ngl. Bethesda did a great job with writing in this game
Weapons have another version you missed @juicehead above Advanced and that is Superior available once you’re a high enough level and I’m not even playing NG+ yet.
You can influence the game to change who have to die, if you stay at the lodge the compagnon with the most affinity die if you go to the eye the compagnon with the less affinity die.
Well, it picks between the two with the highest affinity though, so regardless of which you choose you're probably still going to be killing off one of your favorite characters.
That first tip is most definitely a bug that is going to be fixed. People here seem to be confused by control schemes in general
I didn’t know anyone other than Barrett became starborn until NG+ 6.
Sarah with a Big Bang one-shots anything at close range.
The “game changer” companion meme LOL
The bounty tip to me is a straight lie? or i am not understanding it. Like i am doing the crimson fleet quest line and i still like to kill pirates. Either in space battles or on the ground. If i board a crimson fleet ship and kill everybody then kill the ship i still have left over bounty.
Well, I had the most affinity for Sarah, and she was my romance option, but she didn't die. Instead, Sam Coe died for me during my first playthrough.
5:20 there's actually five types for weapons and armor, the fifth being Superior.
Hey dude, in regards to weapons is professional stronger than advanced?
What's the snowy planet called?
Weres the big cockpit sold? I can't find it
on the mission where someone dies on the lodge is always the one that likes you the least
Almost 100 hours in and I didn't know most of these. Feels like maybe Bethesda forgot to put some tutorial-spewing NPCs in the game. Interestingly, I'd married Sarah Morgan by the time I got to *that* moment, but my Barrett died. Horizontal movement with boost packs makes sense, just gotta figure out if I can bind a second jump on controller.
That trick to add parts to specific nodes only works on pc. I think its due to controller coding. Im not saying youre wrong about the death but i went to the station to save her amd barett died even though sarah was my only companion and finished the wedding quest.
Just wanted to say that I found you Juice because of your Starfield videos and have loved them! You've become my go-to creator. Can't wait to see your videos that go into spoilers, lore, and outpost building!
I don't get the mission where one of the NPC's die. People are saying its the NPC you had the best relationship with but in my first game it was Barret who died when I had been playing with Sarah as my companion pretty much the entire playthrough and didn't interact with Barret really at all unless I had to for a mission.
Its the 2 with the most affinity. It splits them to the lodge and the eye. Wherever you go the other will die. So sarah had the most affinity for you and barrett the second most. Maybe he liked something you said sometime. It does not need much. Just more than the rest
Thats was Sarah Morgan in the starborn for me too. But beceause Andreja exist and i wanted to save andreja above all.
in reguards to spoilers, i do know there is a version that isent any of them, since you can skip past that story section.
not sure who it is as i only saw it in speedrun video (you need to go to that planet with the thingy you move to the tail or whatever and perfectly make the landing zone so the game thinks its the quest zone)
When he double clocked to show all attached ship pieces I literally yelled out loud. I've lost like 10 hours rebuilding ships over and over trying to find the one fucking module it for some reason isn't connecting to it's neighbors.
