We don’t have a tacho in the buses we only have duty sheets The only buses with tacho are also used for coaching If we get one of those for bus work we don’t touch the tacho unit
@@Thebusdriverphotographer all the buses in the company I work for has tacho units. If I'm doing domestic work ie Service / school etc I put it to out on unit, if I'm doing express or private hires I use card. Don't know if I'm right to put it to out no one can answer me Lol not even the company 🤣
Regarding breaks your information is not entirely correct, ie you need more than a 30 minute break if you drive for more than 8 and half hours. GB Domestic Rules - "If you work for at least 8 hours and 30 minutes, you must not drive for more than 7 hours and 45 minutes during this time. You must also take breaks that add up to at least 45 minutes. You must take the extra break at some point between working for 8 hours and 30 minutes and the end of your shift. "
Yes you are correct when I made this I was going on what the company says for some reason the part about 8.5 hours or more having to have a 45 min break seems to be ignored I have brought this up with the union but nothings changed so I can only assume there’s a loop hole somewhere
Having same issue here with my duties. 07:18-11:51 13:51- 19:27 Driving time is 9.04 My argument is that there's no 2nd break for after 8h30 Duty which as I'm company employed is working day ? @Thebusdriverphotographer
How can you drive 5.5 hour's, yet when I worked in retail, 3.45 hours then must take a break, does driving empty count, not in service 🤔 dunno then drive back to wherever 🙋, great channel 👌
That’s a very good question Yes any time sat behind the wheel I charge of the vehicle counts towards driving time Driving jobs from what I can tell have different employment laws when it comes to breaks Although I would have to check employment law for retail to be sure And thank you I appreciate the compliment
With B&H its a 39 hour week starting on the 5 day week once youve been there a while you can go on the list for the 4 day rotas i think theres a part time rota but i dont know anything about that under certain circumstances you maybe be able to get your own rota line ie do the same every week obviously different companys have different policies
Five and a half hours driving, then a break, but the companies say that you can go for up to eight and a half hours, or is it eight hours, can't remember, providing that you have so many minutes at either end of the route which total 45 minutes within that period, then half an hour off, or finish your duty. Completely legal but bloody hell it is a killer. In London, we have to fill out a log card, a company requirement rather than a legal one, scribbling in the arrival and departure times, as well as the "turns", or curtailments,(lost mileage), that the controllers normally throw at you at the last minute, meaning possible confrontation with the passengers. Ye Gods, every PSV Driver wants to do the job properly, but give us a decent, do able schedule, I speak as someone in the game for forty plus years.
Thanks mate, been in the game along time, still learn stuff every day though, you have never seen it all. I salute you, and the other You Tube Bus Driver videos, look forward to more.
Been a courier for around 14 years and I have just been invited for interview with First Bus. The next chapter... I can't wait!!!
Congratulations on getting the interview
@@Thebusdriverphotographer Thanks I'm buzzing
Do you put the tachograph unit to "OUT" out of scope when operating the bus on GB or NI domestic hours

What if you need to go toilet when driving, in my current job I just pull over and go in a bush or pub or whatever?
