- Ali Abdaal is someone I look up to in the area of productivity content, but after using his tips (and many others) for several years, I've found that there a few improvements that can be made.
DISCLAIMER: I love Ali Abdaal and his study tips. These are just some ways I have found to improve them, and I am aware that he may have also discussed similar limitations/improvements to the techniques as well.

Sorry if the title and thumbnail are misleading! Ali Abdaal is an inspiration to me, but I see a lot of students using the techniques that he recommends in ways that reduce their productivity. I know that Ali has accounted for these issues in his own content, but not all people will watch all of his content carefully enough to pick up on the nuance, which is the point of this video!
Emil eddy may not be pregnant but he never fails to deliver.
Lol😂
Thanks alot for such helpful tips!
Thx for the new vid Emil, can you mentor me into Monash med this year?
Thankoooo brother
Also I saw you were doing the icanstudy course just like me and these techniques were literally a replica of the course that Justin teaches. Also what stage are you on in Icanstudy?
I've finished the course! The techniques mentioned in this video are in the course, but are also on many other parts of the internet, I wouldn't necessarily say that they are unique to iCanStudy
Hey Emil! I have a quick question please take your time to answer it. So if iam doing my yr 12 exam next year, and i want 99+ atar. Should i focus on this Inquiry based strategy or the ali abdal rote learning strat. I understand that this will help me long term, but im scared it might not come in clutch for my yr 12 exam.. please guide me on what "style" is best in this scenario, since i have only dabbled into these 2 styles
Hey! If you're doing your year 12 exams next year, you still have a lot of time to improve the strategies that you're using. I'd encourage you to use a mixture of both. Use inquiry based learning to study, but also do lots of active recall, since it's essential to doing well. Reflect on how you're going and make small tweaks to your system
@@EmilEddy Alright thanks another question, My current strat is Understand (summary videos) -> anki flash cards (image occlusion) -> Practice papers close to exams. Do you think i should make an emphasis on Content flash cards or replace it with practice papers -> anki
@@its_chyguy6892 practice papers are probably the best source of revision, content flashcards are ok also
@@EmilEddy EMil another question! can you rank active recall strategies. Like flashcards, making questions, teaching etc. Cos i keep switching between things and not sticking to one thing. And whats the exact step by step thing you did in year 12 from when you first saw content! i need to stick to one thing
Could you please mention what are the different ways to encode
Check out some of my other videos! I mention it there, and I'll be posting more videos in time to come about that as well
I have question about UCAT
What is the most appropriate date to take UCAT for 2025 entry ?
Is September 2024 considered late ?
Response soon please 🙏
You can read the UCAT timings on the UCAT website. I believe that most universities consider a score from the past 2 years
