Oh man that absinthe rant was on point. I hear the same all the time about the “green absinthe” is real absinthe then I point to the bottle labeling “does not louche” and explain how to get the creamy colour when adding water. Does sound like a fun experiment that I will need to try.
I like that it's a rare color for a cocktail, a Nori or seaweed if you will. I've only had a couple tiki drinks with absinthe and the one I rally enjoyed is Captain Hook. It has 1 1/2 oz Jamaican Rum (Appleton Signature), 1/2 oz Smith & Cross Rum, 1 oz Lime Juice & 3/4 oz Simple Syrup. Dry shake and pour into a glass rinsed with absinthe & fill with crushed ice. Float 3 dashes Angostura Bitters.
