Seems like a very nice full time trailer for a couple! Lots of room and very comfortable set up with ease of tow ability. That trailer seems like it would take a lot of the stress out of traveling from spot to spot chasing the warmer climates!
That is a really nice RV, I like the space heater fireplace in a smaller 5th wheel, it'd be nice on chilly mornings or evenings, Cougar did a great job with that layout, it just seems so much bigger than it really is. I have to hand it to Cougar, they make full time warranted and hot and cold rated RVs in a wider size range, some of us don't want or need a behemoth of a trailer limiting our camping choices.
Cougar is really nailing it! Would love to see them do a 5th wheel with the floor plan of the 29BH TT with the rear exterior storage door. That would be awesome! Great Vid as always Josh! :)
Oddly I've seen brands try that and it never really "took." People really don't tolerate open bunks in FWs nowadays in the main market. The 29RDB is about as close as it gets, but lacks the cargo door obviously. They made a few larger models with the cargo door, but it never seemed to flow as nicely as that sweet 29BHS.
So what is the advantages of a fifth wheel over a pull behind? Like this is a 28 foot fifth wheel and compared to a 28 foot pull behind what makes one better than the other. And why can't the industry seem to make a pull behind as appealing as a fifth wheel
@@JoshtheRVNerd thanks for the respond and that video is a good explanation but if the half ton is the most popular truck on the market and the suspension and frame are not designed so much for in bed hauling and a lot of camper buyers maybe a little intimidated by pulling a fifth wheel especially if they haven't ever towed before because of the size of it than why dont the manufacturers focus more on making pull behinds more attractive is there a higher profit margin on fifth wheels maybe
@@kbrowniiee Well the trick here is not that a MFG isn't willing to build something more half ton friendly, but rather that people aren't willing to buy the smaller fifth wheel that fits a half ton in enough quantity to make it a mainstream offering currently. This is something we encounter daily here. People have a half ton and want to see a fifth wheel, but they pull back immediately when they see how small the FW needs to be for most half tons. It's not that there's NO demand for it, but simply not enough once the reality of the situation sets in. Unfortunately, folks like you are more the exception than the rule.

RV slides are actually all 12v powered -- you do not need 110 shore power to operate them. I do everything I do in these videos with only 12v battery power! So the short answer: Yes! Absolutely!

You're pushing your payload. By the time you add a hitch and passenger weight you're likely overloaded. Someone will say "oh just throw airbags on it and you're fine." That isn't actually solving the problem. You have a very capable truck -- just not one very capable for most fifth wheels (even small ones). Something with a lighter pin weight like an Arctic Wolf this size would likely be a better fit IF you were really heart-set on fifth wheels. Not from the factory level, though know we have tried and tried and tried to get it done. I think we could basically remove the top of the side stand on the window-side of the bed to make room for a larger mattress, but you'll lose the walk-around ability.

Can you safely tow this 5th wheel with a Toyota Tundra Double Cab 6.5 bed, GVWR 6900, base curb 5170, Max payload 1730?

Is this different height wise from the 2021 unit? This says it it 11'10" high and that would work for me.
There were no structural changes. Apparently they simply measured slightly differently or have a new antenna / something.
