I knew you were still around but digging out cry of fear for a coop tuto is absolutely magical for me!
Even to these days, cry of fear is STILL the best free horor game on steam.

This tutorial was actually my gate way into Cry of Fear. I was watching old Jerma and Star_ videos and came across their Cry of Fear Co-Op play through. It made me want to try a game with a friend for nostalgic reasons. I always really, really loved the art direction of the game and wanted to try it. After we played the Co-OP campaign, I decided to try the single player. That changed my life for the better I think.
Maybe it seems silly to some, but I got a message from Cry of Fear that really helped me reframe my own personal struggles through the game play in particular. Maybe it was me reading too much into the meaning of the game, but it either way, it's helped me immensely. I've probably left many comments in this same vein on this channel, but big thanks to the devs, you made something genuinely legendary. A total masterclass in psychological horror.
that's not silly at all, every story can touches our feelings in many different ways. it's all an experience that has you invested in it in some ways, wheter if it's good or bad.
sometimes it can give us a tips, hints or even some form of way to look at life in many different ways too, like how you said it helps you through the tough times of yours :)

But you can't really save in Co op, if (all of) you die you just restart from the beginning of the room.

Thank you so Much Andreas I've been trying to get to do co-op with my friend for a while and didnt get any result so I went up searching every where I could to get to do co-op and now I know thank you very much also love your music and content.
Ever since I saw Markiplier play, this has been one of my TOP FAVORITE horror games of all time, I even got my roommate to scream in a high pitch in coop XD. I’m so glad you’re coming back!!

we used hamachi all the time to play the co-op
was fun, and everyone had a good laugh at the others dying from Tallers, Sawcrazys, Fasters, heck even those weird ass tentacle things at the bridge map

An official tutorial, sick! I wish more people played CoF so there would be a larger Co op community to play with. Andreas, if you don't mind my asking, if you ever get the legal stuff out of the way, do you think you will continue with the AoM remake? Or was the Discord server deletion the end of it?
All rights belongs to me, so there's no issues. I will probably remake AoM in the future instead :)

I like the coop, it has L4D inspired shenanigans. The guide was pretty good, I just feel like playing with anyone :3
Guys, if you are getting the "cannot join, retrying" error message (or something like that), the host has to start the campaign first, not wait in the "coop-lobby thing"

Alive! It came back with a new way!
It was pretty depressing when i couldnt get this to work with my friends at a party but after watch a separate guide, turns out this one was missing some information and the other guide was missing some information also. So i wrote this guide.
Cry of Fear COOP hosting guide:
-open hamachi, have a network on(might have to click your network name)
-On cry of fear, host game
-any map
-any host name
-any players
-NO PASSWORD
-autorestart time 60
-start
-still on COF, type the "~" under Esc to open up command, type "sv_lan 0" hit enter
-Now on hamachi, click numbers next to power button and select "copy IPv4"
-On discord(or whatever you are using), in our group, type "connect" and paste copied IP right after. (ex. "connect 22.33.44.66")
-Everyone needs Hamachi on with your network
-Have everyone load up the game and at the main menu hit the "~" and just copy and paste what you posted on discord
-should be gucci, any issue should be from the host firewall not accepting COF, just let it through.

if you are using windows vista/7, you have to restart your system, spam f8 after bios splash screen and go to "disable driver enforcement" every time you are going to use hamachi
if you can port forward just forward the 27014 - 27016 port on TCP - UDP. When in game make sure you disable lan and then get your friends to either join through steam if it works, or connect using your public ip in the console (example: "connect ").
After that, you should be able to play without the use of hamachi and since pretty much every valve game uses the same ports which means you can skip to just disabling lan and joining either through steam or your public ip if you host a server.
(obviously, most of the same troubleshooting techniques seen in the video can be used to test if others cant connect.)
