Hey guys, I use to be a cook at a Panda Express for about 3 years. I can safely say that Panda Express isn’t healthy at all. Most of the sauces include a ridiculous amount of sugar (specially orange chicken) , soy bean oil and starch (in order to ensure that the sauce sticks to the food.) The “steam” veggies are just veggies that are placed in really hot water for about 15 seconds and mixed with wine and veggie sauce (water, salt, veggie soup powder and starch). If you’re going to get Teriyaki stay away from the sauce! It’s also mainly sugar, water and soy sauce. Every meat in there is either fried on a deep-fried or fried on a wok. If you’re looking for gains look no further.... but there are far healthier alternatives out there. Best of luck on everyone’s goals, take care! Hope that was helpful to anyone.
Panda Express is still far more healthier than most fast food places. Most of what you said is a given. This should of been known before you order at Panda Express. Still my go to place if I ever am in the states
My go to at Panda Express is the teriyaki chicken (no sauce) and mixed veggies. Sometimes I’ll do brown rice. If I’m feeling like a fat boy, you best believe I’m going all out with fried rice and orange chicken!
I worked at Panda Express and when I first started working there simply eating it everyday for a month resulted in my losing like 20 pounds. I’d get fried rice/mixed veggies, string bean chicken and teriyaki chicken
Yea we def need more of these "Clean Fast Food" videos. Seeing how most people have regular jobs and are always on the go, these seem to be very informative!
@@certifiedfinest5065 then go by a salad, also eat things that curves your appetite grapfruit, lemon ginger water eat healthy foods only time i eat out ill get carne asada without the burrito
@Youric Hunt "Did you see any cars near him" Lmao yes 4:33 you can clearly see a car next to him, but hey you'll still find a way to defend this guys terrible parking job.
For sure chipotle. Black beans, brown rice, grilled veggies, grilled chicken, guacamole, hot sauce, lemon and some cheese if you diet allows it. Great ingredients and super healthy
The chicken has some sugar in the seasoning and the white rice is going to elevate blood sugar. I've read that elevated blood sugar will inhibit protein synthesis a bit therefore affecting muscle gains. Me I'd skip the rice and have the rest. Wendy's chili is a pretty good protein meal but it does have MSG in it.
This is pretty helpful. I work from 7am-8pm and I'm always eating out. I always take my tumbler so I can keep refilling the water (free refills all around town) , but it's hard to eat clean when everything is loaded with sodium and sugars. I should start taking food to work haha.
The guy really did a good job breaking down the three options at panda express I really appreciate that he made my job a lot easier when I go to order thank you Brother and good luck with your career
the mistakes made in this video whether it was the rice thing or panera not having what he expected to order are the most pivotal things here. dont be afraid to get your order correct and be able to adjust to a changed menu on the fly. take pride in what goes in your body, and also the money you made to order those things in the first place. good, quick and informative episode here.
Loved this video. And yeah, be sure to ask specifically for white rice. If someone tells us rice, I'd assume you want fried rice, but it's definitely better for us to ask the customer for clarification. Cant go wrong with white rice, super greens and teriyaki chicken tho :)
Recently found out I’m a diabetic so I’ve had to make the change in my eating. I get the double portion of super greens, grilled chicken and a random entree. Yes it’s fast food but 2/3 of your plate is vegetables and lean meat. That’s better than before. I’ve lost 25 pounds over the last 9 months. Take your time it’s a process. Don’t forget to reward yourself sometimes.
I’m currently 5’8” , 180lbs , 10% bf. I eat out a lot because I’m too lazy to meal prep . I do Panda Express a lot (same meal as you ) and I love that you did this video. I can relate 💯
Panda Express was KEY when I was trying to get bigger. Definitely recommended if you need something to eat after the gym but don’t have the energy to cook or have anything already prepared.
My go-to is teriyaki chicken(no sauce) bowl with white rice. Depending on how many calories I have left for the day I’ll do a plate with double teriyaki. I’ll probably have to try half veggies tho, since I avoid them a lot. For any other fast food restaurant I just go with chipotle and get a bowl lol.
The veggies taste better than you think guys and it is not so bad when you eat the rice and chicken with it. I am just losing weight though so I get the steak and string bean chicken.
I worked st panda express, all the meat has dumb amounts of sodium, the meats are all around 13% filler, so only part meat, and veggies and everything has so much oil, I worked there for 3 months and got tf outt
Cool video bro. I hate when people assume going out to eat is so bad. Just watch what you eat!!! I try and stay away from carbs and just have veggies and Grill Chicken. Stay away from sugar and high calorie foods. I lost weight eating out and exercising
Chicken and rice will generally be better than half the meals you cook at home, the chicken could literally be deep fried. If the skins off and its thighs or breast youll still get overall good macros.
That panera salad look good af 😩😩😩 im overhere tryna make sure im not over eating this panda express white rice cus i wanted to make mash potatoes for dinner but i will just eat a tiny bit and eat alot of chicken and green beans instead this whole 🤰🏻 got me a little afraid to get too big 😩😪 i was 124 lbs i already gained 5 lbs in 15 weeks 😅🙂❤️❤️❤️ thnx for the help lol
Why not get a grilled chicken salad from Panera? Why go for the sandwich options if you’re 8 weeks out? Personally I think better options are at Panera vs Panda Express. Even better than those two would be Chipotle. You can’t go wrong with lettuce, black beans and salsa
I prefer the chipotle action. If i were having a post workout meal.I would’ve hit half scoop of brown rice black beans. Some grilled veggies aka fajitas. Half chicken or tofu or 100 percent chicken. Then hit it with some medium spicy sauce. No cheese or guac no sour cream either. Finish it with lettuce
Thank you for the great information, however I'm allergic to eggs nuts and all seafood .what can you suggest to do get to your size.please and thank you.
Hi Kenneth, tough to prescribe a diet over the internet - and we wouldn't recommend anyone who is not licensed to do so.
