    it's sad how much she has to defend herself before the comments even start. you guys must give her a hard time. newly subbed btw. (^_^)

      +alireyisboss Thank you! I do have to defend myself a bit. When it comes to food, some people take things very personally, which is okay, I just have to make it clear that I'm by no means telling people what they need to do. I want them to do what works for them, and am simply sharing my journey and what I have learned, too :) So happy to have you here, welcome to the channel!

      Mind Over Munch you make great videos. It's nice to be liked but anyone who doesn't like your videos can....watch other videos! From those of us who enjoy when TH-camrs make content that shows us a different perspective than our own, thank you. Haters gonna hate, and potatoes gonna potate !!

      A lot of women on TH-cam think it's a sin for women to have opinions. (Notice how often they say "I feel..." compared to "I think...")

    Also, I feel for you having to make so many "disclaimers" in your videos. Can people not just watch without judgment? You're not making ridiculous claims by any means and I've learned A LOT from you. Screw the haters :)

      i got haters also...its youtube....the platform was not designed for only viewers in our respected niches....because of that there will be many many people who do not like what one has to offer. hope that makes sense!

    I remember working at Panera as my first job. Working for them you get a 60% discount on their food, so I thought I was getting a good deal for healthy food. And yet I gained weight and was always dehydrated and sick, and I am convinced it was because of extra sodium and sugar from the juice concentrates and purees. We were also encouraged to eat the baked goods instead of ordering food because the baked goods have to be donated or thrown out (soufles) at the end of the day anyway.
    And on another note, the reason you won't find many gluten free options there (the only truly gluten free items are a couple salads without dressing) is because they'd have to have a separate area to bake gluten free options to abide by certain health codes. At least that's what I'd have to say to people who asked.

    • @MindOverMunch
      @MindOverMunch  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Katherine Bass This is great insight! Yes, an excess in sodium will definitely dehydrate you! That's interesting about the gluten, but I guess it's good they are being thorough :)

    looking foward to this series! You give so much good information while still leaving us to make the final decisions about what we eat. I try to eat healthy when I cook at home which is most meals but usually when I go out I know I just want to enjoy my meal without restricting myself. Great video!

    • @MindOverMunch
      @MindOverMunch  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Zig592 I absolutely agree! I eat at home mostly too... because when I go out I want all of the bread and cheese lol!!! But times do come up when I end up eating out more than I "want" and I have to make lighter choices, so this series is aimed to help with those situations! :) Thank you!

    Panera can still make the Power Chicken Hummus Bowl. We have the ingredients, you just have to customize another salad (the classic with chicken would be easiest). (I work there). And good video. I always let customers know that our food has a good amount of sodium especially when they ask about calories.

    • @MindOverMunch
      @MindOverMunch  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Teisha Fowler THANK YOU for the heads up. I contacted Panera through the website to obtain the nutrition info for the power bowls and they told me they were discontinued. I asked if I could still get them at any location and they said no! I was so disappointed :( I appreciate you letting me know! It's nice of you to be honest with the customers! I wish companies would be required to post more of the info so it's easily accessible than just the calories...

    • @SistaGurlonFilms
      @SistaGurlonFilms 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're verywelcome! I hate when customers are told no when we can easily make what they want. As long as we have the ingredients for the item in our cafés we can make it. We definitely have all the ingredients for that one. and also if you need any nutritional info and you forget to bring your printout from the website we have a nutritional guide at the cafe. It's nothing you can take home but you can certainly look at it to see the info on all our items.

    The one thing that bugged me Panera Bread, is that Panera, means bread. So basically, they are calling themselves, Bread Bread. But I guess I'm just goofy that when it comes to naming some of these places. Thanks for the low down and all the helpful info. It's greatly appreciated.

      Please research Panera more. Yes Panera means bread but that’s our motto. Our logo is a woman cradling bread. When you walk in what do you see? Breads, bagels and baked goods. Did you know we donate at least two large boxes of our leftover breads to homeless shelters and food pantries throughout the US. We are proud to be called bread, hence the 16 types you can choose from.

    I work at Panera bread and I'm sorry but you obviously taste the salt in all our soups. No, our food is not 100% healthy but it is healthier then most places. Just be aware our food does have a lot of sodium in it as you said just look at the nutrition before ordering if that's a concern. For sandwiches you can substitute any bread if you are unhappy with the original bread on the sandwich.

    I'd love to see more of these videos!! I'm an aspiring author and stay-at-home mom. Since I occasionally forget to thaw something for dinner, between writing and taking care of my toddler, my husband and I eat out more often than we'd like (at least our son eats healthy lol). But you've educated me more since I began following you than a nutritionist. I'd also like more workout videos and "what I eat in a day" videos. :)

    Great information. I like that you presented all the options....what your choice would be, what the healthiest choice would be, and what the other choices are. Can't ask for more than that! I do hope this is a series!
    Also, I'm a kinda new subscriber and have been wondering about the 'thumbs down' ticker. I know everyone has an opinion but I rarely see the explanations that go along with the thumbs down. And geez, what's not to like anyway? Keep doinwhatyourdoin!

    • @MindOverMunch
      @MindOverMunch  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Suzanne Johnson :) Thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video, I am excited to do more in this series! :) So happy to have you here, welcome to the channel! I agree- there is no function of the thumbs down. For most TH-camrs, the "thumbs down" is extremely irritating and unnecessary, because it's so anonymous. I've been to conferences where TH-camrs ASK TH-cam WHY there is a thumbs down, and they just sort of always avoid answering, and definitely avoid changing it... Pretty much, TH-cam uses the thumbs up/down to rank videos, so if a video has a lot of thumbs up, it will be ranked higher, and if it has a lot of thumbs down, it will be ranked lower, meaning it will be harder for people to find. This is why we DON'T want thumbs down!! People don't have to "own up" to giving that thumbs down and they don't have to offer any explanation as to why they are giving it, so it isn't really constructive or productive feedback. Instead, we become so drained and anxious about them. I don't know of any TH-camr that would actually leave a thumbs down on ANY video, whether they agreed with it or not... A comment is one thing because you have to give some sort of other feedback with it, and even if we don't agree it's okay. But the thumbs down just sort of feels "mean" you know? Thank you so much for your support! I'm so glad you found the information useful :) much love

    • @suziesotico
      @suziesotico 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Mind Over Munch Well I have to admit there are some videos where I've hit the 'thumbs down' and then not left an explanation (big chicken I know!). My huge pet peeve is people who film videos while they're driving! One person was even doing a food haul while she was driving. It's one thing being the passenger in the car, whole other thing to be the driver. I will never understand that. Ok that's my rant. I have hereby owned up to all my 'thumbs downs'!! Sorry if I have offended anyone!

    • @MindOverMunch
      @MindOverMunch  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Suzanne Johnson lol! You're too funny. Well thank you for your honesty and rant. I agree, those people should not be vlogging while driving! That's so dangerous! I'm sure you haven't offended anyone, I just ask that if people really do have a concern or "reason" for giving a video a thumbs down, let me know in the comments what that is so I can respond and learn from the experience, rather than just have my video ranked lower without ever knowing why :) Cheers!

    I am so happy I stumbled across your Chanel I just began my personal journey 2 weeks ago and I was looking up how to meal prep and one of your videos came up when I watch I was able to instantly connect with you because you were so down to earth and relatable I love your approach to teaching this has been the longest I have gone without falling of the wagon as some would say and I owe that to mind over munch you have educated me on nutrition and how to make healthy food tasty and interesting I had a hard time before because I thought healthy meant bland and boring so of coarse I would rather reach for some Oreos but now when I start to feel that way I come to this channel and watch videos for inspiration and learn and laugh and the cravings pass and I get excited to try new recipes and cook healthy and clean I can't wait to go buy some veggies!!! So I would like to say thanks to you and Christian for creating something so awesome !!!
