That looks amazing 👏 I would definitely be interested in the 1/32 version..well depending on cost I guess. Do you have any idea where about the price point would be? You sir have a true skill and eye for building kits..very envious.
Thanks, Ed. We haven't talked price yet since but as soon as we know more about our costs to produce, I'll be sharing that as well. Appreciate the feedback.
Will certainly keep you and the rest of the community posted here and over on my Facebook page. Once we finish up the AEW.3, the plan is to start in a on the ASW version. Cheers!
That thing is a monster. I look forward to seeing you build it when you get the kits rolling out. Lemme ask; I see you have a video about a 3D printed engine. Does that mean you have a 3D printer? I’d love to be able to find someone able to make me a Corvair Greenbrier van body for a project. I told my wife I wanted a 3D printer last Christmas, but then I saw how much it takes to actually make stuff, which is way beyond my capabilities. So, even though it’s not exactly in your wheelhouse, if you ever decide to do car bodies on the side, let me know!
It is big and heavy, that's for sure. Progress is slow given everything else going on but it continues. I do have a 3D printer. It's not a big one and only has a 3x6 or so print bed but for the price, can't be beat. Probably not big enough for a van in large scale. I'm no designer, though. Always something I wanted to learn but I just keep putting my time into the build parts.
These are both amazing! In 32 scale, the Gannett would be massive and heavy, would metal undercarriage be supplied? Hats off to you guys for even thinking about this let alone actually doing it.. 😎😎
Thanks, Tim. The landing gear will be printed to allow a metal rod to be inserted into it to provide the right support for the big kit. You are correct, it's a heavy beast 😉
Just revisited this video and im wondering where this project is at? Also wonder when you will be back? , miss your videos and I hope you are well. Merry Christmas
Those are all great questions. The latter part of this year has been a tough one for sure with not much time on the bench to build, make videos, or work enough on some of the model kit masters that I needed to. I'm hoping 2023 is a little better. Hope your 2023 is prosperous and Merry Christmas to you as well! Thanks for checking in and hope that you will continue to do so. - Chad
Hey Nigel, I think Special Hobby has been working on. You can check out some of the early shots here: aerodynamicmedia.com/special-hobby-whirlwind-update/
@@FlyingSModels once I get set up again maybe we should talk as I have some great ideas for a few conversion sets I have already built a 1/32nd Ash radome conversion for the Tamiya Mosquito just need to look and getting produced
Copy that. I've got to get my casting area setup as well. You can always touch base with my over at: Facebook/flyingSmodels. You can shoot me a message if/when you want to chat more.
Well, the 1/32 Gannet got a bit stalled but regardless, shouldn't be impacted by the new Airfix release. Not only is it a different scale, the Airfix kit is of the ASW version rather than the AEW one. Appreciate the good feedback.
I can well imagine we will see few of 1/32 Gannets at Telford 2021, All kudos to to you for producing a 1/32 kit of this fascinating type.
We better get busy if we are going to make that happen. Thanks for the feedback.
Any updates on the 1/32 kit. I love how these crazy birds look and a nice sized model would be a joy to look at.
None so far. Too many other projects going in parallel. But still in my plans for the future. It's crazy looking but really cool in 1/32, especially.
Count me in for a 1/48!! It looks amazing!! Great work!!
Roger that. Thank you for the good words.

Wow this is some impressive work designing and making scale kits. Good luck in the project
Thanks, Mr. President! Always good to get positive feedback from the top :)

It's quite a beast in 1/32! Will keep you posted on the kit progress.
Great. I'd love to have a few of these fascinating kits.
How about the three seat AS.4 version thought?

Hi is there any news on this? Will it be available in the uk at all? Looks fantastic!
Still working on the master patterns. We've decided to do more upgraded parts so it's taking some time.
Cool. I'd be interested in getting a 32nd scale gannet. Good luck guys.
Thanks! I'll keep you posted on how things progress. Thanks for the well wishes.
@@FlyingSModels you're welcome.
I am so down for this kit! It looks fantastic.
Thanks, Rich. We'll keep plugging away. Make sure to stay tuned to the channel and the facebook page for more updates on the work and release. Cheers!
I don't even build 1/32nd kits, but this is excellent. All the best!
I appreciate the well wishes. Maybe a 1/32 Gannet will make you a convert...hahaha. Cheers!

I would very much like to see a 1/32nd Westland Whirlwind especially with this level of detail and accuracy

Subbed! Hell yeah! 1/32 Gannet? Defo subbed!
Thanks for the sub. Gannet project is a good bit slower than I wanted but still making some progress....little at time. Happy New Year!
I really like the Gannent. I would love to get a 48 scale one.
Hopefully we'll have the upgrades for the 1/48 kit in the new year as well and be able to rerelease the kit with those.
@@FlyingSModels cool, thanks
I’ll buy one!
Will keep you posted on release date. Thanks!!
Please please please get the 1/48 released!!!!

AEW = Airborne Early Warning 👍
Indeed...I did say that wrong. I was just checking to see if folks really listened to me...haha. Good catch.
I no someone who use two fly gannets for Royal Australian navy
I bet that was an awesome experience!
