In this episode of tequila talks, we discuss the importance of terroir. Los Altos and Los Valles deliver nuances that are noticed in the production of tequila. Like wine, terroir is becoming a defining factor for the uniqueness of each batch of tequila and sub-regions within the appellation. Terroir is influenced by topography, climate, and soil which are all crucial components in the farming of the Blue Weber Agave.

The town of Arandas is at 2,069 m. You are mistaken in saying that the area of Los Altos is at 5 to 6000 m - that is getting wayyyyy up there. Maybe you are thinking of feet? Tequila Ocho says La Cañada is at 2,115 m. I cannot find what the altitude of San Jeronimo is.

I just recently got into drinking additive free tequila and I like to say thanks for this very informative video. So far I’ve got a bottle of G4 blanco and a bottle of Cazcanes reposado no7.

I was just in Vegas!!! I had a reservation booked on Friday night but they made a mistake and when we got there the resort was closed for friends and family! I wish I was still in the city but I’ll be back in February
