Kailua is great as long as you’re willing to deal with tourists treating your neighborhood like Disney World.

Mahalo, love your video. Despite the challenges, living & raising our children in this beautiful place is the adventure of a lifetime. We’ve seen the changes, tourism & high expenses since the 50’s but where can you be with people who truly care for their “neighbor” like here? So if a driver doesn’t give you a “Shaka” as you let him/her in that traffic, don’t be offended perhaps they just got here :)

Thank you Jill for your video. I had a question about the humidity. I live in Virginia and the weather is beautiful but when I travel let’s say to Myrtle Beach, NC my hair gets stuck together and I mean it’s all because of the humidity. How is it on the island of Kailua?
Another con is portuguese man o war at the beach. 90% of the time they're in the swim zone, unless the winds blows offshore which is maybe once a month.
Toooo Expensive.
