Mahalo (thank you) for visiting Hawaii! I lived in Hawaii all of my life and travel a lot, and I always follow the rule of 'treat people the way you want to be treated'. You are a nice friendly person, and that's why people are friendly to you.

The local Ala Wai friends are cleaning it up with "genki balls" (look it up) and since then, sea life is returning to the Ala Wai - stingrays and even a monk seal! When I was a little girl the Ala Wai wasn't so polluted and I got to see multiple reef fish, sea horses and sting rays gliding through the water. I'm glad that the friend of the Ala Wai are making efforts to clean it up.

Honolulu is a big city, and we have typical 'big city' problems: homelessness, crime, pollution, but we do our best, and I think we're getting better. Be careful as you would in any big city. Ask locals for their advice, and most would be more than happy to help. New subsriber.

Wow ~ Hawaii, a place we have wanted to vacation since we were kids!
The people there are so nice, it’s no wonder it’s the best vacation spot in the world!
Your room is really great, not cheap but looks very comfortable!
The sky in Hawaii is so beautiful, and it feels perfect when you walk on the street!
Their biscuits are so exquisitely packaged, they look like works of art!
Hawaii is really famous for its coffee. I remember when I was a kid, my parents went to Hawaii with a tour group.
They bought me two small bags of volcano coffee powder. It is still the best coffee I have ever tasted. I miss the taste so much!
Not surprisingly, you walk into a shopping mall again, but the mall in Hawaii is so beautiful, it feels like a park!
The 50th state of the United States is so dreamy and beautiful! And that painter makes it cool!
Thank you so much for sharing such a perfect day, you are really awesome! 👍😍🙌

Royal Grove Hotel one block from Waikiki Beach, old family owned kitschy cool places with yearly regulars. Small pool. I used to pay $60 a night now it's $150 a night which apparently is cheap. Check it out it's close to the iconic Moana Surf Rider right on the beach. Don't miss Duke's breakfast brunch every morning. Jimmy Buffet covered a locals song Duke's on Sunday. At 16:32 you can see the pink hotel down the road a block while you are standing at Waikiki Beach. That's it. Great location and cheapest place around.

Amazing how you went from Cambodia to Hawaii! Honolulu is my home town and would never live anywhere else in the world. I know you love doing Mall vlogs, go to Ala Moana Center that is the largest outdoor shopping mall in the world! While you're there, visit Honolulu Coffee Company! Each island has it's own personality. Kauai is The Garden Isle, very rural and laid back. Of course you already know that Maui had a very tragic Lahaina fire just last year and is in the recovery process. WIth you TH-cam channel, you should fly over to Kahului and showcase The Valley Isle. They really need the help and support to build Lahaina and the rest of Maui. The Big Island has Hilo and Kona both different in scenery and vibes. Thank you for finally visiting Hawaii. You sort of mentioned how the Japanese love Hawaii so much. Precovid, they were our #1 visitors in our state. But because of the exchange rate and differences in the US economy and Japan state of economy, you've already seen the huge influx of westerners visiting Japan, but I don't think you would even notice how few Japanese tourists are in Waikiki. They use to dominate tour buses, airline flights, shopping on Kalakaua Ave etc. Please go visit Pearl Harbor and make the connection with Hawaii and Japan. And do what the tourists do by going to a Luau. Safa travels!!!

I used to live on Oahu, beautiful to visit but living long term isn't fun, the cost of living is crazy! Best part about it is the cheap flights to other islands. The big island is amazing, you can swim at the beach, then go check out the snow (depends on the season) on the 13k foot elevation volcano. There's also a hike from sea level to about 13k elevation, it's intense.

We live on Oahu but we frequent Waikiki just to feel like tourists and we also like the vibe there. My favorite thing is to walk along the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center to the Royal Hawaiian Hotel and walk through it's amazing grounds; it really feels like you have stepped back in time to the 1940's. One night at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel costs about $600 but we are going to splurge on our anniversary. That old pink hotel has so much history I need to add it to my bucket list, and I live here!

The Bus is a good budget option BUT, you cannot take big bags on the bus. If you only have a personal and carry on, it can be used for airport transfers. Kuhio Banyan Club is just across from the International Market and you can get a big kitchenette room for around $150 per night, resort fee included. There's no swimming pool though. Cooking a couple meals in your room, such as breakfast and some dinners cuts costs quite a bit. I found many accomodations on a major booking website for $200 per night or less, all inclusive.
