Awesome video!!! This is a staple video for learning how to build the basic traditional gospel playing structure to a more advanced playing of the same. Thank you Warren for sharing your gift with us!
Been laughing and a friend asked, what is making you smile as that and I said, I'm blessed listening to Warren. You having good fun because you are connected to the songs and playing from the heart too.
Mr. Warren knows how to address everyones’ needs from the beginner to the advanced level. I have been YouTubing for the past 5 years now and I have never seen any piano tutorial channel with a well organized tutorial system. He has covered every single topic from intervals, scales, church modes, passing chords, the list can keep going on till Wednesday of this week. Thanks to this guy I know that I am an intermediate pianist. In my humble opinion I would like to recommend this channel for every gospel pianist out there, if you really want to improve. Kudos Sir
Thank you, your videos are extremely helpful. Sometimes I forget the importance of the basics. Ever since I followed your advice and making sure I know the basic progression and melody in every key I have no problem reharming. This method really helps you to internalize the song you're learning. Having no problems with improvising since doing the "Bare bones" just helps you to map out the entire song in your head
This lesson is awesome bro.You have unravelled the language of american gospel that I have struggled to understand how it is done.greetings from Jamaica!
Thanks for sharing this song breakdown. I love the way you explain the WHY with the numbers. I’m starting to play again after a 6 year hiatus. I have the opportunity to play in a small church. Your videos have given me hope!!
Good day Mr Warren, this is Beatkilla from Lagos Nigeria Africa.. Pls kindly give us a tutorial of some Scales Running on F major. God bless the anointing on your fingers Sir.
Once you understand that building 2-5-1 (with the 1 being the destination chord of your progression), walking the bass up and down in between, you get very close to gospel. Ply the melody with your right hand top fingers, distribute your inversions between thumbs, 2nd and middle fingers, there you go: three- voice arrangement. A whole orchestra under your hands. Don’t forget guys: the piano is THE instrument of western music composition. Because you have the whole range of recognizable pitches right there. Next thing after piano is guitar, though you only get 6 voices maximum with it. Wanna make it really gospel? Play organ(Hammond ftw). Wanna go rnb? Go e-piano. Keys are king
Please do a lesson on tritones and rootless voicings.I am fairly advanced and i play for my church choir but the younger musicians play a lot of the stuff you do so these lessons are great!
@@PianoLessonwithWarren This is a miracle!I also try to pass on the knowledge to the younger musicians in the churches I visit.Blessings always to you my Jamaican bro.keep up your good work.Time to practice thanks for the link on tritonesbro.

Excellent video as usual. I’ve been recommending your channel to some students I have because this may be the best source out there for aspiring gospel/church pianists. Your are making a huge impact! Just wanted to encourage you. :)
You said what do I do with those files...Could you please spell the name of that program. I couldn't quite understand what you said. You have build understanding, one thing upon another. What a great journey you have had! Thanks.
So would rootless voicings be your recommendation for any extended chord? Also, I saw that you used dominant chords on more the the 5. Can it be any of the major chords? And does your ear tell you that it can be too much?
1. Rootless voicing is only recommended when you have a bass player. 2. When a dominant seventh chord is used outside the 5, that is called a secondary dominant, I have tutorials on this. 3. Too much is all about preference and your tolerance for dissonance.

Hello Sir.. What's the theory behind outer notes so that one can be able to apply them in other contexts?
So would rootless voicings be your recommendation for any extended chord? Also, I saw that you used dominant chords on more the the 5. Can it be any of the major chords? And does your ear tell you that it can be too much?
1. Rootless voicing is only recommended when you have a bass player.
2. When a dominant seventh chord is used outside the 5, that is called a secondary dominant, I have tutorials on this.
3. Too much is all about preference and your tolerance for dissonance.
Hey Warren, is it possible to purchase courses from your program without becoming a full member?
Unfortunately no, the membership is the only way to access the courses. When you join the membership you’re getting much more than just access to courses.
Dude, that stuff at 18:50 doesn't fit with my theory knowledge. How do I know when to do something like that?
Russell Henderson it’s not a bout theory, it’s about what sounds good. Follow the sound, the theory comes after.
Sounded like Farther Along, an old Southern gospel song.
Wonderful teacher
Thanks a million but can u reduce the tempo so one can understanding better
1:40 that laugh tho hahahahahahaha
What kind of song would you like to play?
“Your Grace and Mercy”
That's "Your Grace and Mercy".
Nice
