Armchair shooters are just as effective as the rest mate, I know for a fact that I shoot over 80% of my annual bag of greys (200+) from the comfort of a vehicle, just as good as a camo hide! Plastic bins for a grain store (or feeder) are just asking for trouble, no barrier at all for squirrels and rats, I think every one around our local shoot has a hole in it! Good ol' Jack, you could see it on his face, he doesn't want to miss any of the fun and still aims to please, what a star 🤩
All of our feeders we have dotted around our local shoot are sited so me and my shooting buddy can simply drive within range ..park and shoot.....works a treat😉.....great video once again 👍

Well Simon, you sure picked some decent days weather wise to be out about with Jack! And as Jack is showing his age, he retains the strong traits of Loyalty and Dedication. I do a fair amount of varmint shooting here on the family farm (groundhogs, coyotes, etc.) but there really is nothing as satisfying as shooting the squirrels that ravage the spouse's nut trees. Best wishes to you and Jack from North Carolina farm country.
Hi Simon , Nothing wrong with sitting in the car to shoot from, after all the priority has got to be to keep as warm and dry as possible , plus we’re not getting any younger. That’s where us left handers benefit as we can shoot from the drivers window with ease👍
Nice one Simon. Without giving my age away😂 I’ve shot many a fox from the arm chair. Use the field craft. Knowing and studying your quarry Using the wind. A little bit of enticement. Position , in my case the Landy. Don’t put your barrel out of the vehicle. Remember you have a narrow field of view. And best tip. Black out your drivers side window and the windscreen take a flask and wait. If you’ve done your homework the fox will do the rest. It’s all about pitting our wits. Days of old the fox made us look stupid. Patience is a virtue. 😂 this comment is intended for your followers. You as always demonstrate good knowledge of your quarry. 👍best bit jack keeps warm.

Totally agree with the 60gn V-max, that projectile is amazing. I want to hug your dog! Jack is simply brilliant, getting old, but he’s happy and beautiful. Your videos (all of them) are spot on, commentary is interesting, particularly the species (even the ones that aren’t targets) as they are very different to Australia (foxes, rabbits and crows are the same, funnily enough magpies are native and non-threatening unless YOU are riding a bike).

@@simon6ppc246 Simon - when I was a young pup, I had mastered my Fathers pellet rifle. I would blink turtles via head shot w/out a scope. Still have the platform. Watching your vids has truly renewed my interest and I’m utilizing your expertise to narrow down my choice. Another huge benefit that people don’t consider is the noise suppression. Don’t get me wrong, I like it when it goes “bang” however air rifles can do just as much if not more damage in a precision shot. I also found it interesting of your comment of not using a PCP on the peasant. You are an amazing individual and I can see it in Jacks demeanor. Best! Charlie

@simon6ppc246 quite believe it Simon, I have just bought a Impact M3 because I like my Air rifles, but looking at the engineering side of the FX its so flimsy in comparison to a Rapid, so I base my opinion on owning both, the Rapid is still King. I have 4 Rapids and 2 more that I'm building. We'll have to catch up one day, we've got so much in common Glad to see you Drone is still working okay, I've fixed a few of them in the last 4 years😄

good shooting Simon, I do the same thing from the car , but use a piece of pipe lagging on the top of the window to stop the rifle from slidding about.
Hi Simon nothing wrong with shooting from the car I've done it a good few times from the passenger side. Got to be comfortable an warm if your waiting around in winter.
Great to hear you talking about safe shots. A few years back I dodged a few bullets from poachers, I was mountain biking behind some muntjac in fields, and behind them some guys got out of a van about 500m away and I started hearing crack thump repeatedly, I got out of there quickly.
great post Simon good to see you out with Jack, i have to differ on the best air rifle i have had all theobens my .20 was fantastic set at 30 ft lbs but then came the career 707 carbine a superb rifle for all occasions i got one shot at 80 ft lbs but set at 20 ft lbs nothing out there to touch it stay safe ATB
Ye Stephen i suppose we all have our favourites but honestly when i go to the gun clubs lots turn up with their FX's and such and at 75 yards in doors honestly not one of them matches that Rapid when i have it set on 28ftlb, its just un real.

I’m not one to push stuff on people but we have four dogs, one of them is 11 years old now and last year we started giving her Turmeric Paste with her morning grub - she’s a different dog now, whereas before she was lazy and would rather stand in the field and watch us walk with the others she charges round the field like a nutcase!!!! Hi Simon, Thanks for another great video. The Squirrels made light work of that bin lid. However, when you look at the size of their teeth, it's hardly surprising. I guess they'll have smelt the food, then no stopping them. Thank you for showing your Theoben Rapid. When they were in their infancy, I was in my teens. I'd have dearly loved to own one, though I hadn't a hope. I was so proud they were British designed and made. I've got my eye out for a sub twelve foot pound model in .177 calibre though I don't want one that's been to the moon and back. Great shooting, mate. Do you eat the Squirrels, or give them? The first ones I shot went in my slow cooker, a lovely meal to come home to after being out all day, with some pigeon anx rabbit. Nice to see you and Jack again, mate. Take care, Ian.

great post Simon good to see you out with Jack, i have to differ on the best air rifle i have had all theobens my .20 was fantastic set at 30 ft lbs but then came the career 707 carbine a superb rifle for all occasions i got one shot at 80 ft lbs but set at 20 ft lbs nothing out there to touch it stay safe ATB
Ye Stephen i suppose we all have our favourites but honestly when i go to the gun clubs lots turn up with their FX's and such and at 75 yards in doors honestly not one of them matches that Rapid when i have it set on 28ftlb, its just un real.

I’m not one to push stuff on people but we have four dogs, one of them is 11 years old now and last year we started giving her Turmeric Paste with her morning grub - she’s a different dog now, whereas before she was lazy and would rather stand in the field and watch us walk with the others she charges round the field like a nutcase!!!! If you are already giving J meds then I apologise.

Hi Simon, Thanks for another great video. The Squirrels made light work of that bin lid. However, when you look at the size of their teeth, it's hardly surprising. I guess they'll have smelt the food, then no stopping them.
Thank you for showing your Theoben Rapid. When they were in their infancy, I was in my teens. I'd have dearly loved to own one, though I hadn't a hope. I was so proud they were British designed and made. I've got my eye out for a sub twelve foot pound model in .177 calibre though I don't want one that's been to the moon and back.

The first ones I shot went in my slow cooker, a lovely meal to come home to after being out all day, with some pigeon anx rabbit.
