Thanks for taking the time to show the parts. That oil pump wasn't going to make the long haul. With time it would only get worse. With new cam and oil pump and bearings the lifters should also be replaced no questions asked . What ever has been implanted in the lifter will transfer to the cam .
Ya, that oil pump was pretty crapy. To me it seams like would be harder to make the hole not round. Maybe one day I'll get around to measuring it. But it sure is weird. I also agree. New pump, new be bearings, new lifters are the easy I like to do it.
Thanks for the extra detail on the tools and unique call out steps etc, while also fast forwarding through the repetitive wrench spinning sectors. Helps keep the watch time more valuable. 👍🏼 Background music in parts was also a nice touch. Thanks for the great vid, looking forward to part 2!
If using a aftermarket cam plate and oil pump pushrods and lifters. I prefer to use all components from the same manufacturer. I use a lot of S&S and like them. But I wouldn't mind using Feuling either.
Great video. How was the power cam after install. Debating getting one for my Fat Bob. Are you using the screaming eagle tuner. Does it need the auto tune add on to use the tbr 2-1?
The power cam ran great with this exhaust system. The customer wanted to use his screaming eagle tuner so that's what I did. It got just the screaming eagle base map, no auto tuner and I would say it wouldn't be necessary or needed.
I swear to all things Harley, the next time you use that tune in your video I am going to flip the heck out!!! I'll still watch though due to being addicted to the Wizard... #distraught

TBR=Two Brothers Racing. Large exhaust company in the Streetbike scene. They make a bunch of exhausts for Harleys but haven’t become as large in the H-D world as they are in the Streetbike world.
@@HarleyDavidsonWizard Set is TBR H-D Softail (2018-20 Sport Glide) Megaphone Gen II 2-1 Stainless. We see a lot of TBR kits in the H-D stunt/wheelie world. I'm considering them for my FXFBS when it comes.
Brad, is that the third version of four (so far) for the Milwaukee 8 oil pump? I'd be mortified to find that kind of wear on mine no matter how many miles were on it! I wonder if the bore could have become warped due to excessive heat? This owner was smart to upgrade to S&S. My vote is to keep the music but I will also still be watching regardless!
Yes this is a 3rd generation Harley Davidson pump. I'm thing the pump was manufactured wacky. Its such thick aluminum I'd think it would take a ton of heat to warp it. But I do not know.
@@HarleyDavidsonWizard That bike appears to be well taken care of. Seeing the condition of that oil pump sure doesn't give me confidence about leaving my stock 2020 pump in place when I put my new cam in. Damn! Probably better to bite the bullet and go with the whole shebang -- S&S camshaft, lifters, pushrods, oil pump and camplate. Thanks for the in-depth look at the stock lifter retainers. At least I'll save myself a little money and trouble by not having to mess around with those lifter block screws.
To be honest with you I'm not a big fan of the 2020 oil pump. If your gunna run a stock oil pump the 2020 is deffentally the smartest one to use but one of the updates of the 2020 and 3rd gen oil pump was s seal on the back of the pump to separate the crankshaft cavity from the cam shaft cavity. This seal and the way it separates the crankcase cavities enables a shit load of crankcase pressure. Enough that it makes a significant increase in the turning force of the engine even when turning the engine over by hand. I dont like that aspect of the 2020 pump and is the major factor where If somebody asks my option on what oil pump to use its S&S 100% in my option and ya the HD matching of the pump is not impressive. Thanks for the question and view!!
@@HarleyDavidsonWizard Well, the plot thickens. S&S recently updated their design to allow use of the stock 2020 seal. The back of the new pump you have for the Fat Bob has a channel for it. Another dealership that posts a lot on TH-cam claims that "S&S believes that it is better to have the seal..." Maybe it's designed to solve the sumping issue on some water-cooled-head motors where crankcase pressure transfers to the cam chest and theoretically air-locks the oil pump.
Reference the oil pump, it seems that is Harley's standard of manufacture - I put a brand new Screamin' Eagle billet camplate and high volume oil pump in my twincam engine and it looks like that after five thousand miles - worse actually ..... the oil pump never did seem to be making much oil pressure and I know the crank runout was ok - less than 1/2 a thousandth......
I have also seen it before in the Screaming eagle setup. Its one of the reasons I prefer the S&S vs the screaming eagle. Its a goofy way to manufacture something in my option.
@@HarleyDavidsonWizard Yes, goofy is one way of saying it - the overall cost of making the bikes needs to be reduced as much as possible if the motor company is going to sell bikes. Harleys always have seemed expensive in relation to other bikes when performance is taken into account, and as labour is the biggest part of manufacturing costs then H-D have to 'outsource' parts to a greater extent than they did in the past - this is the case in most industry these days. The worst thing though is that everything is just 'disposable' these days adding to waste and pollution.....
Questionable choice of camshaft too. Screamin Eagle is okay if you're looking to not void the warranty but that's not the case here. So many good cams to pick from.

Never seen such a carefull mastertech and such a detailed inspection man, kudos before I forgot...
Thanks for the complement!! And the view!
Love your attention to detail. Thanks for the video👍🍺
Thanks!!
This is a similar setup that I put in my 19 rks but I bought new S&S tappets too and I used the solid pushrods.
The S&S lifters are really nice. I've only used the premium but I do really like.
Thnx Brad, that's another great video and a helluva clean work again.
Your welcome! Thanks for the complement!
Good work my friend regards Alan from the UK. Ps I like the Tune.
Thanks crazy shed Alan!! I'll keep my ear out for a different tune but who knows I might keep it.

WIZARD THE STAGE 1,2,3,4,.......B.S. HARLEY SHOULD SALE THE BIKE WITH THE STAGE THE CUSTOMER WANTED TO HAVE IT IS ALREADY MORE THAN $ 25K
