  • In the first of a new series of talks from the British Drone Flyers, we explore how to start 'a drone business'. If you've ever considered turning your drone hobby in to a business, join us as we let the professionals tell us all.
Chris Bradbury, our very own Drone Support Officer will talk through how to get started and what you should consider, based on his years of experience running Altitude Aerial Photography Ltd.
We then have a special guest Andrew Bailey, from The UAV Academy, who will be on hand to talk about the specialist courses you may need to consider.

Chris, Andrew, I have just seen your presentation as searched for advice on start up. I can’t thank you enough. Also can’t believe how little comments have been made against the incredible sacrifice of your time. Many thanks for the direct support and guidance.
I know how much has changed over the last 12 months, during which, I completed my A2CofC and GVC. Recently I completed my Business Plan and, just this week, my Opps manual so I can obtain the CAA approval. (Don’t need to send the manual now!,) Again. Many thanks to both of you. kind regards.

Great in-depth information please could you advise if I’m flying a DJI mini commercially for a client taking images and videos of a condition of a residental roof do I require insurance? As the drones under 250g I also hold an operator ID.
    Thank you

Hi You would need a commercial liability insurance that is fully compliant with EC 785/2004
