Dan we don’t deserve you! I love the fact that none of your content is click bait. It’s all great genuine and honest content. You’ve changed the game for so many people. Thank you 🙏 ⛳️
I agree, always had issues with blading and diffing chips all my 20 years of golf. After the video of 3 releases i’m consistant around the greens and i have a totaly different golf game
By far the easiest instructions to follow for an average golfer. If I could get this sort of clear instruction for my driver I would surely be a better player 😅
Dan is literally the short game Father Christmas. I've had the book for almost a year now and this content is amazingly effective at reinforcing and clarifying the techniques.
There are not enough superlatives to describe these videos. Thanks Dan for taking the time make them, it is greatly appreciated. If there are any of you watching these videos that haven’t bought Dan’s book I would highly recommend it, the combination of both has improved my short game beyond belief. 🏌️♂️👍
I love the short game and it is also the strongest part of my game. This video has clarified on the finer points on follow through for me. Thank you Dan for such a clear, concise video.
Dan, THANK YOU for these amazing videos! You break down the chipping game so damn well, I made a 27yrd chip in birdie last week because of your tips. I have recommended you to everyone I know. My confidence is at an all time high around the greens! 🙏🏽
Marvelous video. Your book + your videos+ frequent practice= lower scores. Thanks for posting and the "how to practice" and analyze yourself videos are the best.
I’m grateful for coming across your channel, I hated the sand wedge before, today I made my first birdie and parred 2 more holes in the 9 holes I played, scored my best score today also.. very happy
Shot 73 at a new course today, as a 4 index I usually play around mid to high 70s - my short game had improved so much thinking thru the lie, the club, and the release, and leaving the lob wedge in the bag. If you haven’t gotten the book you should definitely give it a read. Thanks Dan!
I've had the chipping yips for a long time. Went out yesterday, chipped 6 times and got up and down 3 times. Thank you for an easy setup and swing system. Finally feel like I can start to chip with some confidence.
I have just purchased a hardcopy of your book on Amazon as a birthday gift to myself. I'm looking forward to it! Your videos are so great. I am watching each one carefully. Thank you 🙏
I just got into golf since I was a kid and your system is absolutely beautiful. It made me fall in love with chipping and I am already excelling. Thank you Dan! Please keep the content coming.
Dan. Your videos give me so much of motivation to work harder on my short game. The way you explain each different shot is extremely good. Thank you again and hope we see more from you. Stay well. 😊😊. AL 🇩🇪
A great video but I have one suggestion and 0:31 that would be to show split screen of the down line perspective and at the same time the face on perspective. Face on will give the length of swing and finish and down the line shows posture, body rotation and resulting ball flight.
Quite simply a must watch video! 18 handicap golfer who struggled for years, all I ever wanted was a repeatable technique to trust! I now have 2 absolute go tos, possibly a third although I haven't got the confidence to nail that option yet! Thanks Dan, in my save list
I started watching your videos early this Spring and bought your book and I have had more chip-ins and more up and downs as well as more saves from the sand this year already than probably the last five years combined! Thank you! Oh how I wish I had run across this info sooner and really quite simple too!
This is amazing, I played off +3 in the day and thought my short game was decent, nah, workmanlike but nothing more. This site is brilliant and insightful, keep up the great work.
Just great stuff. Thanks so much for the great instruction. I’m a former PGA member and got my amateur status back. Short game is where it’s at and your knowledge is so incredibly helpful.
The thumbs off stops me from flinching. Been struggling with chip yips for years. Can wait to get to the practice green to keep working on this. Thanks Dan.
Found out about Dan from the Mark Immelman podcast "On the Mark". Wow what a wealth of knowledge. I help teach a local high school team and we are definitely going to be putting into practice the three releases. Thank you so much
I've read the book and putting it into practice. It's making a huge difference to my short game. My long game is not good ATM, but still managed to par the back 9 because of my short game keeps bailing me out. Thanks Dan
Thank you thank you thank you Dan! Your instruction and your book are absolute game changers! It is so amazing how you can take something so complex and make it palatable and make it actionable. Instantly changed my short game and I was already pretty well along with understanding but you gave me a lot of structure. In my opinion you are exactly what a teaching professional should be. I mean that in the most complimentary way possible you epitomize what teaching truly is. I'm sure it's taken you a lot of time and effort to make all of this seem so simple and I thank you.
Dan, your tips have helped me so much! can you please help us with long game too? I would love to hear your input on the driver and long irons! Thanks Dan!
Great video Dan. Your pressure game will be added to my routine immediately! I like to keep a running competition between hole outs and shots that finish off the green. Please practice reading the green. On my very steep practice green, I drill on trying to leave a six inch putt coming straight up the hill. Brad Faxon advises one to locate that spot as soon as possible. I see so many golfers practicing wedges who hit an uphill shot a bit long and left and think they hit a good shot. They three putt from that position on the golf course and then blame their putting.
The one thing i noticed in the short game with different clubs, ie Callaway DCB, TM 790 and Ping i200, is the way the ball comes off these clubs, its chalk and cheese in the way the ball feels and come off the face. next set of clubs i get will depend a lot on feel, some of the above have absolutely no feel, the best is the Ping but i am sure there are better feeling clubs out there.
Schedule a Club Fitting for your next set of Irons. If you can get to a Pro Shop or Golf Store that allows you to "Hit Indoors" RESEARCH by trying short Pitches and Chips with any Irons you might be interested in. Find 2 or 3 Models that "Feel Good" for Short Shots and then select those Models to test during your Fitting. 😉
good video, thanks. I am really focusing on my short game this year. I realized how much of a difference it makes. Thanks again for the videos and the great discussion that comes along with the demonstrations.
Pure class 👌followed you on instagram dan for a long time..uve changed my short game completely it’s the soft hands let the club drop philosophy u have which is second to none..I was given a good tip out of bunkers the other day..I see a lot of people at times losing their right arm..it becomes detached..so the tip I was given was tuck your sleeve in and hold it under your right armpit..tried some bunkers wow amazing results..swing was so compact..keep ‘em coming 👌👌👌
Great video! I've had much of the same issue where my trail shoulder gets low in the setup, so I have to consciously set up more level so my club doesn't dig. I've been using your 1, 2, 3 release concept, and it's been great. Thanks for making it so simple to understand and feel.
Fantastic video! I really love this 15-20 min format. It's really helpful. I noted the "holster" tip, which I'm going to focus on next time. You mentioned how you make sure to make the ball fly straight toward the pin. I struggle with the dispersion (both on the left and right). Could you please explain in a next video how you do that for each release, both on the grass and the sand? It would be amazing!
This is great content, Dan - thank you so much! The technical points are so insightful. I play a short game drill where I chip to 9 nine pins and have to hole out with a putter. I scatter 9 balls around the practice area so bunker shots are included as well. I use the scoring system where up and down is a birdie; anything higher is bogey. Have you demonstrated the chip putt in your videos? This shot saves me so many times. Hole out with a lot too.
so much info on this part of the game! have to go back and look again.Dan do you have a short video on the best way to keep arms connected to the chest?thanks John
Brilliant Dan thank you. Thumbs off grip is a great routine though harder than it looks. The pressure routine is something I've done with putting, great idea to add in chipping. Just need the rain to stop!
Tiger once said talking about Mo Norman how great it must feel to wake up each day knowing your going to hit it great every time. This must be how Dan feels with his short game.As a fellow golf pro i have learned more from these videos and his book in the past weeks than i have in 50 years of golf.EVERY golfer should read Dans book, Dan is an absolute Genius
Just “amazoned “ the 3 releases book and cant wait to get into the details of that bunker release ,which has stymied me lately after a long stretch of decent (good enough) bunker play…am hopeful its all translatable for a weekend hacker who isnt into daily practices
Far and away the best short game book you can buy. Love this video as I’ll be adopting this as my practice routine, if it ever stops raining @dan is there a rule you follow for release 1 on each club eg fly and roll, uphill down hill wtc
Hi Dan...thanks very much for your clear instructions for these 3 releases. I may have missed these on your previous instructions but could you please clarify further the following? 1) is the clubface open at setup for each of the 3 releases? 2) Are your feet aligned left of target for each of these releases depending on how much the clubface is opened? Thx again.
Hi Dan Your lessons are absolute gold dust - thank you. I am ordering your book to learn more, hopefully about learning what shot at which time. A question should you read this :) You instruct on release 1 stock shot a longer backswing (than you see with many students) with say a 54/56 degree wedge. You recommended also using at times a 9 iron or even a 7 iron for simplicity with 1/3 flight, 2/3 roll or more. If you want to hit the same distance as the 54/56 wedge BUT you should still keep the longer backswing ie not a "short one" do you swing slower or softer or shorter to keep the distances hit the same ? ie key thing i noted from your teaching is a longer backswing but how do you manage the distance? Hope that makes sense ? Best Lawrence

With every video Dan gets more and more bundled up 😂
Just bought your book Dan, super excited to dive into it!
It a great book. Release 1 is so reliable and is need at the courses I play. The other two releases have really sharped up as well. Enjoy
Oh crap yeah, I keep forgetting I have the book 🤣
I like the traditional bobble hat rather than boring beanie. Oh and the book's great.
He would practice in any weather to help his fellow man or woman improve their short game!
I’m delighted to see this practise session and how it’s structured, especially during UK winter months. Thank you Dan. 👍
This was probably middle of summer 😂

By far the easiest instructions to follow for an average golfer. If I could get this sort of clear instruction for my driver I would surely be a better player 😅
These short game shots are what will really get your handicap lower. That and putting.
Best tip I’ve picked up is the “shoulder tilt”. THANK YOU Dan❤
Me too and I think I've realised that the excessive tilt is affecting my irons too
Same here great tip! I have to be aware of that all the time in my setup now too
Dan you are a awesome you can walk it as well as talk it great instruction changed my game completely
Dan is literally the short game Father Christmas. I've had the book for almost a year now and this content is amazingly effective at reinforcing and clarifying the techniques.

Thanks Dan is probably enough, all we can see is ur feet hanging outa his butt after that sentence 😂
Has become the fun and interesting and challenging part of golf. Was mystical pre-Dan
@@coreygardner8424Thanks for your comment Corey, or is that perhaps too much? Are you replying with the same on everyone’s comment? 😏
Amen
Since I have been following the Release3 method, I have regularly chipped it in my last few rounds. Fantastic advice. Thank you.
Very good tuition your chipping seem impeccable
I love the short game and it is also the strongest part of my game. This video has clarified on the finer points on follow through for me. Thank you Dan for such a clear, concise video.
The lad knows the art of short game. Thank you ⛳️🇦🇺
Dan, THANK YOU for these amazing videos! You break down the chipping game so damn well, I made a 27yrd chip in birdie last week because of your tips. I have recommended you to everyone I know. My confidence is at an all time high around the greens! 🙏🏽
Dan has completely changed how chip and pitch and it was been a great transition. Dan thank you for share you wisdom.
Marvelous video. Your book + your videos+ frequent practice= lower scores. Thanks for posting and the "how to practice" and analyze yourself videos are the best.
Another super helpful video from the short game wizard. Thank you, Dan
The best short game out there practicing…….. says it all really. Reiterates what Gary Player famously said “ The more I practice the luckier I get”
Really helpful on the technique on these shots. Working around the body with the club. Bravo!
Your the boy Dan. My game has massively improved after watching thank you so so much 🙏🏼
I’m grateful for coming across your channel, I hated the sand wedge before, today I made my first birdie and parred 2 more holes in the 9 holes I played, scored my best score today also.. very happy

Super insightful video on how to have a quality short game practice session in a short amount of time.
Thanks for your time. Dan, I am looking forward to using your techniques.🎉
Really enjoyed that Dan. Big fan of that pressure practice segment at the end. I'll be including that in future 👍 Cheers!
I've had the chipping yips for a long time. Went out yesterday, chipped 6 times and got up and down 3 times. Thank you for an easy setup and swing system. Finally feel like I can start to chip with some confidence.

Brilliant! Your book is excellent. Enjoy your sincere, clear instruction. Compliments from a 33 year PGA coaching professional in the US.
Dan. Your videos give me so much of motivation to work harder on my short game. The way you explain each different shot is extremely good. Thank you again and hope we see more from you. Stay well. 😊😊. AL 🇩🇪
Started golf last year! And I owe you a lot for the improvement I ve seen in my short game! Thanks Dan for this amazing session!
One of the best short game lessons, thanks for sharing 👍

The thumbs off stops me from flinching. Been struggling with chip yips for years. Can wait to get to the practice green to keep working on this. Thanks Dan.
Your videos are great! Never seen the 3 releases before. Can't wait to start practicing them when the snow melts.
Yea, Dan is a beast. I appreciate his artful ability in short game. Could watch all day.
Found out about Dan from the Mark Immelman podcast "On the Mark". Wow what a wealth of knowledge. I help teach a local high school team and we are definitely going to be putting into practice the three releases. Thank you so much

Thanks Dan. Currently have the shanks when pitching so an equivalent video for your pitching technique would go down a treat!
Even though I'm not a native English speaker, your videos are fantastic. my score is improving
Thank you

I also have the book but it’s great to see ‘live’ action of the three releases by the author of the book…wish he came up north to give lessons!!
Dan, I’m watching every vid i can find of you on YT and just picked up your book. Im now going to short game area first 🤣 Ty
This is brilliant. Ive got the book, but this is a really nice addition to it. Now i first have to wait for the f…..g weather to clear up
All your videos are a joy to watch. I hope I manage to get on one of your golf schools this year.

Love you coaching ..I play links golf and the lies are much tighter , bunkers much deeper too ..could you do a video at a links short game area
Love yur techniques! Thanks a million
Good stuff , I would have putted 80% of the shots you just demonstrated. I’m havin many chipping issues of late.!!!😢
Awesome Dan. I can't wait till some better weather and getting off fairway mats so i can get practicing the three releases properly. 👍
This is great content, Dan - thank you so much! The technical points are so insightful. I play a short game drill where I chip to 9 nine pins and have to hole out with a putter. Have you demonstrated the chip putt in your videos? This shot saves me so many times. Hole out with a lot too.
First class Dan. Good way to spend productive time in cold weather
Great guidance as always Dan….I’m also a big fan of the 7-9 iron bump n run shots, low tariff, very reliable compared to spinning lofted shots!
so much info on this part of the game! have to go back and look again.Dan do you have a short video on the best way to keep arms connected to the chest?thanks John
Brilliant Dan thank you. Thumbs off grip is a great routine though harder than it looks. The pressure routine is something I've done with putting, great idea to add in chipping. Just need the rain to stop!
Never seen a guy wearing ten hats have such an impeccable short game😂 love it 👍🏼 helped me improve

Great video. Miss being a member at Woburn, but not the winter.
Thanks for this session. Very useful.
Brilliant Dan. Just read your book which is excellent!
Legend as always, cheers Dan!
Absolutely brilliant 👍 love the pressure game at the end 😊
Love the random throwing the ball. I also do that and use a random number generator on my phone to determine which pin i go to :)
Brilliant Dan. Love the detail.
Just “amazoned “ the 3 releases book and cant wait to get into the details of that bunker release ,which has stymied me lately after a long stretch of decent (good enough) bunker play…am hopeful its all translatable for a weekend hacker who isnt into daily practices
Thank you for the great video 👊
Excellent as always Dan. However could you talk and show more about the bounce and grind on the clubs you are using. Thanks
Absolutely bloody brilliant 👏
Brilliant as always!
Great stuff, Dan.
Ok, finally. This guy knows what he’s doing.
Far and away the best short game book you can buy. Love this video as I’ll be adopting this as my practice routine, if it ever stops raining
@dan is there a rule you follow for release 1 on each club eg fly and roll, uphill down hill wtc
Thx again.
Hi not for all and no not for all. Buy the book for total clarity
More great stuff Dan. Thanks for sharing.
Great teaching videos. In NA, most greens are elevated and chip shots are on uphill lie, leads to chunked or skulled shot too often. Advice
Thanks very much Dan! Love your instruction.
Hi Dan
Your lessons are absolute gold dust - thank you.
I am ordering your book to learn more, hopefully about learning what shot at which time.
A question should you read this :)
You instruct on release 1 stock shot a longer backswing (than you see with many students) with say a 54/56 degree wedge.
Best
Lawrence
Dan, great videos! Do you have a video or do you plan on doing a video for say a 50-80 yard or so bunker shot?
Fantastic lesson!
