Weaving on an Oxaback Ulla Cyrus Drawloom

Finishing up my last table mat from my very first drawloom warp. I wanted to try to share what’s going on with the loom as I pull drawcords and weave the unit.

Loom: Oxaback, Ulla Cyrus, Combination Drawloom. 45” width, 50 pattern shafts and 8 ground shafts
Draft: Amy Blair’s Damask Table Mats Recipe @duellingrabbitshandweaving
Ground Structure: 4-shaft broken twill
Warp: 2/16 cotton in natural
Weft: 2/8 cottolin

I just read a book set in late 1700s London about a silk weaver's family. They use a draw loom to make figured silks. I'd never even heard of a draw loom prior to reading that book, so I was so confused about why it required two people. One to work the treadles, throw the weft, and call out the draw cords needed to the assistant who would pull the cords.
Watching videos like this one are helping me understand the process a bit better.
