Fabian Semb I really recommend Ray Bradbury. His works are phenomenal, and I also recommend that you start with either Fahrenheit 451 or The illustrated Man. Both great pieces that you can get sucked into
Books 1. 1:40 The Old Man and The Sea by Ernest Hemingway 2. 3:59 Moby Dick by Herman Melville 3. 7:30 Man's Search For Meaning by Viktor Frankl 4. 9:31 Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes 5. 10:40 The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka 6. 13:08 The Sailor Who Fell From Grace With The Sea by Yukio Mishima 7. 16:03 The Temple of The Golden Pavilion by Yukio Mishima 8. 16:42 The Sound of Waves by Yukio Mishima 9. 16:51 The Book of Five Rings by Miyamoto Musashi 10. 19:31 Bushido: The Soul of Japan by Inazo Nitobe
I know PewDiePie that your fanbase can sometimes seem immature and stupid but it's honestly great to see you enjoying yourself. Reading and going into your hobbies which make you happy. I have been here since 2012, and I never thought you'd be my favorite TH-camr. You're an inspiration to smaller streamers and youtubers like me. Keep being you pewds, stay awesome. Brofist
Honestly I feel that his fanbase isn't actually that immature, it acts that way whenever he uploads his normal sarcastic videos, I think that whenever he uploads serious videos we can surprisingly act with more maturity than usual.
As a content creator who delves deep into an array of topics, seeing Felix promote learning and reading truly solidifies my belief in him as an upstanding person, irrespective of any past controversies surrounding his name.
PewDiePie really seems a better place than ever. It really has become such an amazing place. Also from the last video, I looked into and bought the Life 3.0. And boy was that an amazing one. I am at 151 page or something around which it is talking about the AI takeover possibilities and consequences. The book completely changed my mind about how things work in the AI world. I am yet to complete it. Pewds is slowly improving who I am. I was a little-depressed guy with nothing but a few friends who I couldn't trust fully either. I wasn't into reading and just killed myself to sleep browsing Reddit. I started watching pewds in the late 2014 and haven't stopped yet. It just brings a smile on my face to see that a video is up and I can watch it. Pewds, thanks for being there for me. *BROFIST*
I've said it before, but i'll say it again: Thank you for this, Felix! I love this series!! As someone who reads lots of books, and who's a huge fan of yours, this is the most perfect thing to watch! :D
NEXT BOOKS: ✿ Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky ✿ Stoner by John Edward Williams ✿ No Longer Human by Osamu Dazai (translated from Japanese by Donald Keene) Alright! This will be fun. And I love these genuine Felix reviews. And I recommend: * The Count of Monte Christo by Alexandre Dumas * The Book Thief by Markus Zusak * Cyrano de Bergerac by Edmond Rostand And just for kicks, *The Detective Games by Zechariah Barrett (that’s me)
Yeah, I wasn't as impressed with it as a lot of people were. But I think it's worth a read. Especially with Felix having read through Moby Dick. He may find it interesting as well.
The Game Detective Mann I just finished no longer human , it's a highly recommend book , do you know any other books that got the same theme like being a semi autobiography of the actual author ?
I'm happy that these videos are always long because it really gives you enough time to analyze each book and it's just so insightful. I was in a huge slump as a reader and that really changed thanks to you recommending The Picture of Dorian Gray. i really appreciate you trying to turn your fans into true woke intellectuals. it's working.
Wow, I actually really liked this. I always like your regular memetastic content, it puts a smile on my face but this kind of video actually coming from you, is very interesting.
I genuinely love when you just talk about things you are interested in. You are an absolutely amazing person that loves sharing his hobbies and interests with his fans. I love reading a lot of these types of books so I am going to have to try some of the ones on your list. I would love if during the summer when I am not in school that you make more of these since I will have more time. I know you probably won't take notice to some random comment, but I would love to just talk about different things like books, collectibles, video games, society, or just life with you. You are one of those people I could talk hours with about random things and enjoy every single minute of it. Anyways I am rambling too much at this point but keep up the wonderful videos about *your* interests. Love ya Pewds. *Edit:* Some great books to read: The Scarlet Pimpernel, a fictional book based on the French Revolution involving romance, adventure, humor, and sacrifice. Also one of my favorite series of books: Ranger's Apprentice, a medieval fiction series that is highly immersive and well done. It involves action, humor, romance, adventure, war, and sacrifice. One of the best series of books in the world in my opinion. If you start it you won't stop until you finish it. I could talk hours about this series but I don't want to make this comment too long. Lastly I love reading the classic horrors like Frankenstein, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, and even Dracula because of how different it is then horror today. They use things like sacrifice, paranoia, and crime to make horror. It is truly magnificent. Again I would love to talk about books or anything with you or anyone else who would like to. *Edit 2:* Thanks for liking this guys! Keep it up so that Pewds might be able to see it
Never have I ever dared to imagine how intellectual you are. I must say I surprised, but moreover, I intrigued. I feel like we finally getting to see more authentic side of Felix, not PewDiePie, the guy who scream and swears and alway fun and cool. Maybe PewDiePie is becoming that Felix now. And I love that you highly regard honesty and truth and that you stand behind your words. I think being a genuine human being is first is super important. Right now seeing the serious and thoughtful side of you is the best thing you ever done with your channel. Thank you for that genuine otiginal content, I love what you're doing, because you do what you love.
I love this series A LOT, and I really appreciate you for doing it. You're obviously stereotypically a comedy youtuber but picking up something serious once in a while is a very nice effort and please do continue with this
Love this book club! It’s nice to see serious, smart pewds. Here’s some book suggestions based on what you like: East of Eden - John Steinbeck The Waste Land - T.S Eliot Rebecca - Daphne du Maurier (highly recommend even though the blurb might not sound exciting) Never Let Me Go - Kazuo Ishiguro You might need a fun read after all of this! I’d recommend The Knife of Never Letting Go - Patrick Ness.
I know this is hella late (lol when am i ever on time) but I've been rewatching your book reviews back and forth from time to time. I just want to point out that Kafka did not burn the majority of his work because it was personal (don't get me wrong, in a way, they are. It is his work, it will always be personal), it was rather because he felt that his works are rather incompetent and nobody should ever read it. He thinks they're not good enough and this relates to the relationship he had with his father as you mentioned in the video. He was mentally and emotionally abused to the point he thinks he's a complete worthless person (as well as his work). I wish you could bring back book reviews, it truly lets us know you better as "Felix" and we (at least me personally) love to hear what you think about these books.
I may be a little biased because i looove reading, but these videos are some of the most interesting and entertaining content that i've seen on TH-cam in a long time. Very direct, lighthearted, "easy" and FUN conversation about books. Couldn't ask for more. Good job Felix *vigorous clap*
Its rare see Felix doing this, but i really appreciate when he did it. He introduced to his channel a little part with culture, a part more seriously than his other typical content, and this can be called... *Quality Content*
I'm totally on board with these videos! I love reading and listening to different opinions afterwards. It would be interesting if you could post different polls during the month in between those videos. Those polls could be about the books you're reading and could integrate the bros and sisters much better. Brofist
Ștefan Manole GUYS I DON’T CARE WHAT THIS IS TALKING ABOUT IT IS THE TOP COMMENT AND I NEED TO SAY THAT JOHNNY DEE HAS PNEUMONIA!! we have to support him
the metamorphosis is one of my most favorite books especially with the literary elements used in it, the parallelism between the characters and the question of existentialism in it gave me a different perspective on life. it was intriguing cause of the concept of becoming an insect but the takeaway made this book beautiful. i’m so glad felix had read this book and did a review on it!!!!
You’re so smart. You are a great role model for people, kids. Please keep doing this series and your other videos too. Love you. Pewds, you definitely deserve to be the biggest youtuber!
I love this series so much. I had to read Flowers for Algernon in middle school, and it became one of the greatest stories I've ever read. I know it sounds cliche, but that book was life-changing for me. It made me realize that because I was still so young, and my brain was developing, there were a lot of things I probably just couldn't see. I realized that many of my friends may have not actually cared about me, and once I grew more mature, they'd lose interest in me, so dedicating time to our friendships were probably pointless (which definitely happened after high school ended). And also that maybe my middle school bully saw my vulnerabilities at the time and decided to take advantage of them, meaning that if I identified those vulnerabilities and denied people access to them, perhaps I could get rid of my bully. It caused me to change my outlook on life, and I became much more independent from that point on. Flowers for Algernon was also the first book to ever bring me to tears. It was so weird reading it again years later. Now, instead of being able to relate with the main character, I pitied him and kept having the urge to tell him what to do. I almost felt like he was too innocent like a child in a man's body, and the world did nothing to raise him, because maybe we don't actually care about children, but instead who they'll grow up to be, so when there's a child that never grows up, we don't have any interest in them. It's a very thought-provoking novel and I recommend it.
CheekyGoose good writing!! I literaly had the same, the way that Charlie realizes that his so called friends make fun of him, and uses him is just heartbreaking. If I can recommend, try 11/22/63 by Stephen King. That was the first book I cried in the end.
I love this Felix, the calm one, the serious one. He doesnt need to yell at every video, I mean this one is my favorite even tho he just talks about books.
I totally agree while i love the effort he puts in to videos even after all this time on YT these videos are is nice to see it reminds me hes not just a lovable raving lunatic lol. i usually hate ads in videos and if a see a video with more than two i'm like "no thanks" but i began to make an exception for Felix's vids now i've got to the stage of turning the add blocker off just for TH-cam and tbh its mostly because of him...he makes good points. Hes not the king for no reason lol👌
Felix, you probably won't see this in the sea of comments, but I highly recommend the book "Obasan" by Joy Kogawa. It's a very moving book and as someone who has an interest in Japanese culture I think you would find it compelling. I read it in high school and I still remember it vividly. I'm loving these book club videos, keep up the great work!
Who knew I would love watching book reviews by a TH-cam "gamer" who used to scream all the time back in the day. Who knew the most subscribed person in TH-cam would be such a positive influence unlike others who're vying for the position (the Paul brothers) while getting slandered by the media
Japanese literature is beautiful. I read Akutagawa, and Soseki. Soseki's Kokoro is maybe one of the best books I've ever read. It is such a genuien story, that really makes you think about a lot of things, especially firendship and life itself. You should take a peek about it Pewds. And there is my Hyperion recommenditation still, I've started to read ot again, and I like it so much. :D
I finished re-reading it and am now on Fall of Hyperion. The books are still enjoyable or still horrifying I should say on the second read. The reerad is helping to clarify a lot of lingering questions I had. I'm finally going to read the next two books as well to get the complete story, even if they are apparently not as good.
You should get a Goodreads account because then you can post what book you're currently reading and what books you've read. Also, you'd be able to create lists of what books to read each month so that we can keep track of what's going on.
I swear i never know what I'm getting into when I click on these videos. Is it meme review? Pewnews? Book review? Ya never know and that's why you all keep coming back.
Hey Felix, I read the metamorphosis recently and it's such a sad story, I have learned that empathy is a important quality in a person, I think as long as you keep satisfying people, they will show the good side of their faces. Once you see the bottom line and are not able to provide them with what they want, they will turn their backs. THANK YOU for reviewing books btw! LOVE IT
This is a great Series PewDiePie! I find it very amazing how you've changed and grown from the content you've created. I hate to sound like a typical Supportive commentor, but nonetheless keep up the great work. 👊
Old man and the sea, my short take on it, my iceberg. Unlucky stage, depression, no future to be seen but despair. The fish and the sharks, the fish represent a dream or goal, working towards this goal, with every bit of suffering that hard work brings, eventually catching this fish, the achievement of this goal/dream you had. The sharks are the people that envy your achievement, by bringing you down and destroying what you worked so hard for. The Lions: What you wished you were, strong and independent, not to be messed with. This is my take on the old man and the sea, i literally finished this book 10 minutes ago, and went back to this video to see what pewds had to say, and to give my view. It's a very personal take on the story and the ''hidden part'' of the iceberg ofcouse, I'd love for you guys to reply and talk more about the meaning of this book.
As much as I love pewds screaming and meme-ing hard its always great and funny to see, but every once and a while it’s cool to see him just chill out and talk even if it’s about something simple like books I’d never thought I’d enjoy something like it thanks pewds😉
"I just pick a book I wanna read, I don't really think about how long it is" - let's read Crime & Punishment (750 pages). Next month "War & Peace" (1250 pages). Pewdiepie book club is a brilliant idea though - especially the focus on classic books that everyone should read. Don't forget about libraries for physical books, many now have the option to get ebooks or audible books too! I'm reading currently reading George Orwell's "1984" and David Icke's "Everything You Need To Know, But Have Never Been Told"
Thank you for having this series, i've been getting more interrested in books so this helps alot! I've been searching for books that not alot of people talks about and those books you're presenting/reviewing seems very interresting and not something i've heard of before. I also want to thank you for reviewing Bushido, i love japan and japanese culture so i will definetely read this!
The Merchant _Mohamed Hirey why you meh? How's your homework going? I just started crime and punishment. This morning I finished flowers for Algernon, it was really good.
lol. This motivate me just like Shia LaBeouf did. xD jokes apart, this actually motivates me. I have just collected the books name. Hopefully I will start reading.
Hey, here you go: 1) "The Old Man and the Sea" by Ernest Hemingway 2) "Moby-Dick" by Herman Melville 3) "Man's Search for Meaning" by Viktor Frankl (I just posted a short animated summary of this book in my channel. Would appreciate any feedback) 4) "Flowers for Algernon" by Daniel Keyes 5) "The Metamorphosis" by Franz Kafka 6) "The Sailor Who Fell from Grace with the Sea" by Yukio Mishima 7) The Temple of the Golden Pavilion by Yukio Mishima 8) The Sound of Waves by Yukio Mishima 9) "The Book of Five Rings" by Miyamoto Musashi 10) "Bushido: The Soul of Japan" by Inazō Nitobe
That is a big reason he is number one to me. I cant stand channels of fake personas that are like fox news or something. I can only stomach so much Vsauce for that reason. I’ll take real personality any day.
Yea I really like this Felix, and I know that sounds weird because obviously in his other videos he's still himself but sometimes I wanna have a little break from LWIAY and just listen to Pewds talking about books lmao
So, anyone correct me if I’m wrong but the books for next month are 1) Pride and Prejudice by Fyoder Dostoyevsky 2) Stoner by John Williams 3) No longer human by Osamu Dazai
I enjoy these videos are my favorite, all of my friends dismiss these as boring, but these got me back into reading, killing my TH-cam channel, but still pulling me out of my deppresion, thank you pewdiepie, you've entertained me for years
Book 1: The Old Man in the Sea Book 2: Moby Dick Book 3: Man's Search for Meaning Book 4: Flowers for Algernon Book 5: The Metamorphosis Book 6: The Sailor who Fell from Grace with the Sea Book 7: The Temple of the Golden Pavilion Book 8: The Sound of Waves Book 9: The Book of Five Rings Book 10: Bushido: The Soul of Japan The Code of the Samurai
Actually Franz Farmer TH-cam wasn’t out in 1750. There wasn’t even phones back then. You are acting like a baby and maybe you should act more like and intellectual like the pewdiepie gang. I just wished people liked his content like I do! #pewdiepieforlife

The fact that this video series exists is one of the few things that make me feel good about the future of humanity.
Nurpus yess yess hmmmmmmmm
I’m so happy, scrolling through the comments seeing someone who literally had the pretty much same thought I had
humanity is fucked either way this just proves that some humans do care about others lol :)
its inspiring so shut up!
@Nurpus why? was there Felix's book review that got deleted?
Love this book club! It’s nice to see serious, smart pewds.
Here’s some book suggestions based on what you like:
East of Eden - John Steinbeck
The Waste Land - T.S Eliot
Rebecca - Daphne du Maurier (highly recommend even though the blurb might not sound exciting)
Never Let Me Go - Kazuo Ishiguro
You might need a fun read after all of this! I’d recommend The Knife of Never Letting Go - Patrick Ness.
Evie Laurent Hope he sees this! Great Books! (at least the ones I know)

List of April's books:
1) "Crime and Punishment" by Fyodor Dostoyevsky
2) "Stoner" by John Williams
3) "No Longer Human" by Osamu Dazai
Cheers! Amazon has a few "No Longer Human" books by different authors, I assumed it was the Osamu Dazai one. Thanks for clarifying.
Thanks!
Oh I quite liked “No longer human”

the metamorphosis is one of my most favorite books especially with the literary elements used in it, the parallelism between the characters and the question of existentialism in it gave me a different perspective on life. it was intriguing cause of the concept of becoming an insect but the takeaway made this book beautiful. i’m so glad felix had read this book and did a review on it!!!!
You’re so smart. You are a great role model for people, kids. Please keep doing this series and your other videos too. Love you. Pewds, you definitely deserve to be the biggest youtuber!
(This comment will probably get lost in the comment section.) :’((
I remember this comment for years to come.
That is so true.. he is really a good role model and a genuinely nice guy.. i love him.. and this comment will be remembered by me years to come..
i love when pewdiepie is actually being serious
Tomas Eastwood i know right, love his insights

BRING BACK BOOK REVIEW, I NEED IT
I love this series so much.
It's a very thought-provoking novel and I recommend it.
this was literally me, we had to read this book recently, and i loved it.
CheekyGoose good writing!!
I literaly had the same, the way that Charlie realizes that his so called friends make fun of him, and uses him is just heartbreaking.
If I can recommend, try 11/22/63 by Stephen King. That was the first book I cried in the end.
CheekyGoose It's a beautiful book.

Really? I never liked the book, maybe I don't understand it well enough or something?
Felix: I was gonna read a passage but we aren't on that level of cringe yet.
Also Felix: *reads a passage from a book*
I love this Felix, the calm one, the serious one. He doesnt need to yell at every video, I mean this one is my favorite even tho he just talks about books.
shutatatap..we all know what went down in that 2008 elections..you're a decent politician with a winning complexion..stuttering communist
Agreed
I totally agree while i love the effort he puts in to videos even after all this time on YT these videos are is nice to see it reminds me hes not just a lovable raving lunatic lol. i usually hate ads in videos and if a see a video with more than two i'm like "no thanks" but i began to make an exception for Felix's vids now i've got to the stage of turning the add blocker off just for TH-cam and tbh its mostly because of him...he makes good points. Hes not the king for no reason lol👌
Infamous Rj what about markiplier?
He is perfect for you to watch
2020 quarantine be like: Let's listen to some book recommendations from Felix. Btw I kinda feel like reading more now. :D
honestly same tho
samee
Same. Just finished flowers for algernon
Literally why I'm here
I just done reading no longer human and kafka on the shore hahahaha. Im thinking to read either norwegian woods or some of yukio mishima's works
Rielle Marsh a book called grandma, interesting... 😂😂
Such a good book, one of my favourites!
Who knew I would love watching book reviews by a TH-cam "gamer" who used to scream all the time back in the day. Who knew the most subscribed person in TH-cam would be such a positive influence unlike others who're vying for the position (the Paul brothers) while getting slandered by the media
Redwan Ahmed that's alot...
Amen, brother.
Redwan Ahmed this is the comment I've been wanting to read 👌👌
came for the laughs, stayed for the books
Okay I’m loving this series
agreed, probably my fave series on TH-cam. This is what we need more of these days!!
me too dood! ^_^
*pewds is making literature content*
*gets no ad before the video*
I got ads 🤔🤔🤔🤔 *h m m m m*
Sprinterboy 97 he got two lmao
Yez but i think only bcs his vid is 10 minutes long
WE 👏 NEED 👏 ANOTHER 👏 BOOK 👏 REVIEW 👏
Yes
You should get a Goodreads account because then you can post what book you're currently reading and what books you've read. Also, you'd be able to create lists of what books to read each month so that we can keep track of what's going on.
How tf did this get 100 likes, wut?
Get.
Sponsored.
Sarah M. Great idea!
Yes! It would be awesome! And he's actually reading good books, and he's getting younger people into reading :)
Goodreads it's great!
Can somebody recommend a good book like "American psycho"?
I really enjoyed it especially the murderer's perspective.
Thanks.

- Pewds gave me homework :|
Menace lol
Menace *OMEWA MOU SHINDEIRU*
Ah.... I wish i was in school.... just to do this....
I appreciate that Felix is taking time to serious, thoughtful and honest literary discussion, in his personal and funny style. Great video.
As a reading fanatic, I'm loving it too, I hope he does more videos like this!!
The two styles mesh together extremely well, don't they?
Hey Felix, I read the metamorphosis recently and it's such a sad story, I have learned that empathy is a important quality in a person, I think as long as you keep satisfying people, they will show the good side of their faces. Once you see the bottom line and are not able to provide them with what they want, they will turn their backs. THANK YOU for reviewing books btw! LOVE IT
This is a great Series PewDiePie! I find it very amazing how you've changed and grown from the content you've created. I hate to sound like a typical Supportive commentor, but nonetheless keep up the great work. 👊
Do we have time for bonus book?
Teacher : "why didn't you finish your homework"
Papa pewds gave me homework
Aryan Parikh lol
do your homework.
You are the most precious listener of this channel because of the first comment you made on this channel !!!
@@wakky1038 Haha thanks :)
After a century, PewDiePie has finally upload a 20 minutes long video....

Or Other way around. Idk fam
As much as I love pewds screaming and meme-ing hard its always great and funny to see, but every once and a while it’s cool to see him just chill out and talk even if it’s about something simple like books I’d never thought I’d enjoy something like it thanks pewds😉
These videos are so relaxing, I just play them in the background while i draw and it's a great alternative to music
Sophie Quadri , canvas painting Mars rn, great alternative
"I just pick a book I wanna read, I don't really think about how long it is" - let's read Crime & Punishment (750 pages). Next month "War & Peace" (1250 pages).
Pewdiepie book club is a brilliant idea though - especially the focus on classic books that everyone should read.
Don't forget about libraries for physical books, many now have the option to get ebooks or audible books too!
I'm reading currently reading George Orwell's "1984" and David Icke's "Everything You Need To Know, But Have Never Been Told"
I love intelectual pewds.I think it's fun to see human Felix not meme Felix and reminds me why I still support him
Kiros Pedraza so true
Love the series!!!
Yeah, I have read all the books he said he would in the previous video.
Catarina Fitensity Workouts th-cam.com/video/r3kNidcxyRI/w-d-xo.html

Where did this series go? It’s been my favorite
Man I love this series
These are definitely my favorite Pewdiepie videos
See parents, TH-cam is educational
They say "pewds don't have original content" hah hah
That's not what they say at all. They say he DOESN'T have. ;)
there is a thing called speaking in slang bro
siam895 Yes, but writing in slang makes you look stupid.
No, it doesn't. The joke transferres great in writing.
why are we having joke language analysis sessions?
Thank you for having this series, i've been getting more interrested in books so this helps alot! I've been searching for books that not alot of people talks about and those books you're presenting/reviewing seems very interresting and not something i've heard of before. I also want to thank you for reviewing Bushido, i love japan and japanese culture so i will definetely read this!

tbh i really do appreciate you opening up to us, and just being yourself in general
Same
same.
Bring this series back.
So, anyone correct me if I’m wrong but the books for next month are
1) Pride and Prejudice by Fyoder Dostoyevsky
2) Stoner by John Williams
3) No longer human by Osamu Dazai
Crime and punishment by Dostoyevsky
Crime and punishment is mandatory in third year of high school from where I am from. One of the best books from the time of realism I’ve ever read.
Pride and prejudice is by Jane Austen
"Pride and Prejudice by Fyoder Dostoyevsky" hahahHAHAHAHH!HH!
This is actualy one of my favourite series on your channel
I enjoy these videos are my favorite, all of my friends dismiss these as boring, but these got me back into reading, killing my TH-cam channel, but still pulling me out of my deppresion, thank you pewdiepie, you've entertained me for years

Actually Franz Farmer TH-cam wasn’t out in 1750. There wasn’t even phones back then. You are acting like a baby and maybe you should act more like and intellectual like the pewdiepie gang. I just wished people liked his content like I do! #pewdiepieforlife
