How To Make Shrimp Po’Boys At Home

- This is how you can make a Shrimp Po' Boy Sandwich at home.
1. Don't Overcook Your Shrimp:
A flash fry for about 20 seconds is all it takes. I like using large/XL fresh shrimp.
2. Get the Right Flour:
Your fry flour needs to be fine, not coarse. Bigger chunks of cornmeal from the flour will end up burning. There are tons of good flour options you can buy or you can be like me and make your own.
3. Pick A Soft Roll:
Remember that delicate protein should be paired with a softer bun. This will help you get the texture of the sandwich right.
4. Choose Simple Toppings:
Limit your toppings to a good sauce (I prefer remoulade) and some fresh lettuce and tomatoes.
5. Use the Right Sauce:
My homemade remoulade recipe took over 75 versions to get to where it's at today, but there are a lot of great sauce options you can buy. You can also try going with mayo and/or ketchup for a slightly different take on a sauce option.
If you follow these instructions you'll be able to get a perfect po'boy at home.
If you don't want to go through the trouble, just head down and see us to get one of mine.

This guy and I are the same, we both love saucy sandwiches and tbh I like saucy anything wings especially
I love a saucy sandwich
Anything saucy is good and I'll die on that hill, I need a whole bowl of sauce just to be satisfied
@@fritzy. yup me too bud
Bro is killing it with that T.R.O.Y. beat!
I gotta admit he knows good old skool hip hop 🤙
They’ll Reminisce Over You.
After living in Louisiana my Remoulade sauce is perfection! It’s a secret recipe that I created after studying the sauce for about a year. Louisiana food is the best!
Ive been to NOLA....some of those Shrimp Po'boys are incredible. Yours looks good....red onions and pickles, please!
Gotta have the pickles!
Dude is such a perfectionist he’s not going to stop until his sauce is perfect.
75 times ????? ! Que La Chingada ! Mucho trabajo ... i mean passion. 😂❤
It's been a few months since I've been to their Madison Heights restaurant. That Po Boy has been on my mind every damn day. It's SO GOOD!!!
Love it, looks great, but it should be on French bread not a bun.
That's cute you got your little po boy there. It looks good. No need to be disrespectful to new orleans. Remoulade sauce does not go on everything, I don't know why you people think we put that on everything. The only sauces on the po-boy should be Mayo ketchup mustard if you're into it and hot sauce.
Ona real bro
I prefer tarter sauce myself 😉
@@Swampgurl777 on a Poboy?!! I'm calling the police
I prefer cocktail sauce on my shrimp..
Fine cornmeal mixed with white enriched flour is OK..
I think he put it on there because it makes the sandwich better lmao
Looks delicious chef!
Genius! Thanks for your recipes
Looks Great 😊
Ballin 😎
Looks amazing. I love to cook shrimp at home so I can add extra!
That looks so good.
Yummy !!!
Nice
Love this guy
Ayayay that looks delicious , saludos from the Bay Area.
Damn that looks amazing... I had a big lunch an hour ago and looking at this shrimp sandwich is making me hungry again 😂
Dang ...wish this guy was in Kernville, Cal
looks great
This boss is kicking Philly and Louisiana to the curb.
Another great video. Nona Bell's makes a great corn meal coatings Another great coatings is Andy's.
Hi Cheff, I like the energy brings your food. I recently started just eating a shrimp and vegetable garlic dish at this Chinese place. It’s my one big meal a day they say garlic but they don’t actually put fresh garlic in. It’s not extremely tasty fresh garlic and some fresh hot peppers would be food. I don’t get it spicy cause they just put that hot oil crap in there, if they spend a little more time and attention, they could make it so much better
I feel a lot healthier Zila lotta fruit and avoiding all the garbage out there, so yeah I’m staying away from meat just scallops, shrimp and eggs. Looking for a whole new me.
Sandwich looks good. I will smash that.
God damn dude that looks so 🔥
french bread or nada!
Haven't had this or fish sandwich... I'm coming for you two SOON!!!
Theyre fire. The garlic fries with the jalapeno ketchup are a must to get and the lemonade if you're not afraid of sweet stuff
@johnthick4543 My daughter LOVES the strawberry lemonade. I'll look for the jalapeño ketchup next time.
You tell um Chef! N.O.CRY😢😂❤
“ A shrimp Po-Boy New Orleans wished they had “ LOL.
There are 2 main authentic Remoulade sauces,, One has Ketchup & The other Mustard,, Mine is Creole Mustard based & Everyone loves it. 👀👅❤️
That IS a LOT if sauce!
Beautiful. G
New Orleans is legendary, stop playing.
Fck that looks good.
YES, MORE SAUCE!! I'm so over restaurants skimping on the sauce. Really irritates me
75 tries, WOW!
Whoa now them fighting words down south!
You need a TH-cam show
Cornmeal is where it's at though?
Gotta have my bun grilled in butter!
Love your videos bro and you sandwich looks good but that’s not a shrimp poboy! Come to Nola and I’ll hook you up for sure!
Ok but what kind of sauce do you have for fish and chips?
Can you do just the shrimps with chips ... a bit like fish and chips?
Where can I get that breading sifter pan??!?!
Song: They Reminisce Over You (T.R.O.Y.) - Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth
Can we get the recipe for the remoulade sauce?
What’s the best flour to use when frying chicken?
More batter please
Finally. Someone who understands shrimp don't need to be cooked for hours. Even in the South people will cook shrimp for too long.
No were near a New Orleans porboy
T.R.O.Y.
Chef I love your videos man but you don’t need remoulade sauce just Mayo should be that’s how they serve in New Orleans but if it’s outside of New Orleans and you need that sauce lift it makes sense I guess
Look At Mr chime time review. He thinks the chicken was dry and cheesesteak was subpar
can u make fish sandwich hold the bread?
Boy stop it that lil cornmeal shrimp ain’t better then nothing in south Louisiana😂💀
What kind of watch is that
One thing of official po boy sandwich bread is crunchy and no toasting. I know cause my family is from Louisiana.
Bro disrespecting New Orleans, sounds racist to me
New Orleans is not a "race"
@@AbsoleteAim culture
@@The_fatman80 I still don't see how a small, playful jab hurts a culture, especially one that's down south and used to making jokes.

@@The_fatman80 So, having a disagreement in a conversation is harassment now? I'm just stating how your comment makes no sense because it doesn't. You're not the only one commenting like this either, so you really shouldn't be taken offense, period.
Looks great except you forgot an important flavor key. It needs the dill pickle slices other wise call it what you want but it won't be a true PoBoy.
I just can't do a sandwich with tomatoes
Looks a little small
You are great, but you can't Touch New Orleans po boy sandwich.🥪
Oh poor boy is not a po-boy unless it's on New Orleans French bread 🤷🏿♂️ this looks good though
Didnt even heat up the bun pass
all you gotta do is buy vegan shrimpies and make the sauce vegan and BAM: you now have the moral highground on those who blindly perpetuate duality and chaos
No raw onions!??
Onions don't go on a poboy. Neither does remoulade
Rawlings don't go on PO boys. Neither does remoulade sauce
So how do you make the remoulade ?!?!?! That's not teaching us how to make anything we know how to put lettuce and tomato on a bun . SO HOW DO YOU ACTUALLY MAKE THE REMOULADE
Google it mf, tf? 💀
There's some decent recipes on the internet
He’s not lying New Orleans wish they can make his po boy
Not at all
No we don’t lmao
Nola makes the best they use French bread
@@jimmie2487 New Orleans French bread*
It’s not a poboy if it’s not on a French bread roll. Then this is just a shrimp sandwich
Unfortunately fish is super expensive
Now for you to put down a boastful claim like that, yours better be great. New Orleans has the po boy on lock.
I love your food, but I’m from New Orleans and shrimp po boys are packed I mean packed with shrimp and no one in New Orleans would use nothing but French bread period. I love your food I’m just saying
Ah, shrimp, the cockroach of the sea. LOL truly gross
all new orleanians just took offense
This guy insults Philly by saying his steak sandwich is better and now he insults NOLA with his version of po boy. Small 🍆 energy. Waiting for him to insult Maine when he starts selling nasty lobster sandwiches .
Bros still pushing that stupid breading contraption 💀
What’s stupid about it?

Blasphemy! You will NEVER make a proper Po Boy like we do on the Bayou!
I fuh with you homie but that aint got nothing on a real po boy. The bread makes all the difference in the world.
I'm from NOLA.
Absolutely NOT for the natives.
I can get a better shrimp poboy better than this from any corner store in New Orleans. Where the New Orleans style french bread at? Foh here with this bullshit.
LMAO
Pathetic all wrong. NOLA laughing at you 😂
Ona real bro lol
Are yall coming to taxes plz
That is not remoulade
"fIsH aNd cHiPs" 🙄🙄
This guy is not a good boss… he’s always there everyday with the employees right beside them.. I would quit in a heartbeat he’s a micromanager
Bro, youve really didnt show us jack shit. Yea ok fry shrimp, soft bun (crazy), lettuce and tomoatoes like every other sandwhich in america and finally a sauce you wont tell us shit about......
That looks like an anywhere but New Orleans poboy. Even Lake Charles does better than that. 4 to 5 shrimp? I dont care how good your sauce is, if your poboy has more sauce than shrimp, its a sauce poboy.
Man, you came to New Orleans to even say that dumb stuff. Nothing you do can compete with a anything
Hell no! That’s not French bread it ain’t a po boy
Hate saucy sandwiches.. why drown everything as it kills the flavor
Too much sauce
Can't make proper what someone else created .s/o NO
That’s a bullshit 6 inch sub with eight generic farm raised shrimp. How the hell you gonna compare that to a New Orleans shrimp Poboy I think looks like a baby compared to a New Orleans shrimp Poboy stay Chicago mind your business.
Ehhh it’s not traditional but I can rock with it, looks fancier 😂🫡
Nice
