I am not Mormon but I find so much strength to live alone as my father and mother have passed away, god bless this years speakers. Always amazed as I review from 1984 to 2023 #faithful listeners
Try to visit The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saint ....We are not Mormon too.. I promise you ...you will never feel alone when you try to visit .
@Harold Moran, I don't understand your point. Elder Deiter f. Uchtdorf didn't die years ago. He gave this talk last month in General Conference. He's no longer in the First Preside
Elder Uchdofdt speaks to me because I sometimes don't want to continue talking to my children. I have been counseled and edified in this talk . God does not give up on me. Today, I have been taught not to give up on my children. It is ny calling for life.
Your thoughts resonate with mine to large degree. I always show love, embrazas and include my grown children. However, there are rifts there, topics that can’t be discussed; at least not very often-once every year or two, ha. But…that “hands off” sentiment has influenced the frequency and intensity of my prayers. It’s as if I’m just waiting for them to come to themselves…I gotta engage more in a spiritual way, connecting with love and allow them time to grow into their understanding.
I am a young teen in high school and not only listen to these talks for understanding of god, but also so I can prepare for a mission and to have my own family.
Thank you for teaching parents to choose their children over their calling. Being a parent is an irreplaceable calling. It is not something that can be done by another.
Well said! Thank you for that insight! Our church callings are important that we may be a tool in our saviours hand to bring about good to those around us, but, as you stated, our most important work is within the walls of our homes. To help our children come to a belief in and a dependency on our Father in Heaven and his Son, Jesus, should be paramount in our lives!
Lately I've been praying for answers to my questions in conference and now twice I have gotten those answers. This talk is one answer and a talk given a couple conferences ago was another. I promise if you pray with real intent with questions, your answers will come. Maybe it wont be at conference! But maybe conference will lead you to the path to find the answer.
Thank you, Elder Uchtdorf, for such an inspiring message! Good one to listen to again and again.😊 In our efforts to be good and loving parents, we need to not be too hard on ourselves when we don't handle a situation in an ideal way. We should say sorry when we need to and keep trying. Heavenly Father will help us as we turn to Him!🙏❤
As a child to my parents this speaks deep to me I joined the church in 2021 it's been difficult to say the least I've been hurting g deeply and am now tearing up and praying for a change if heart I want to be better
Me too but as he said, it’s never too late with Jesus Christ. We are eternally parents of our beloved children and we get to love and honor them in their free agency forever. ❤
I was baptized in Germany in 1986, nourished by the good word of God and the German Saints during my first year in the Church, so I have this special connection. I love all the Brethren and Sisters and their messages, however. Danke! 😊 ❤
He's DEFINITELY my FAVORITE speaker He's a Luftwaffe man and Retired Lufthansa pilot! I can Sooooo relate to him plus he's from the 2nd Best country in the world! I'm a Retired Air Force and Retired JetBlue Mechanic! Viva La Deutchland
The sealing power allows parents in the next life to continue to help any children who may have gone astray (and vice versa), because living in heaven without them would not be heaven.
Dear our Heavenly Father Jesus Christ I do trust in Jesus Christ so much as always and forever. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
What an uplifting & edifying talk! The still, small voice is the voice of the Holy Spirit in the home and elsewhere. I think it also refers to the still small voice of the LDS church in the wider world. The “God of Glory thundereth” is the voice of the Lord in a different context, not the home. I have been thinking about this contrast recently.
As I watch the Sunday session of the conference yesterday I looked out for him but did not see him so I decided to come online now and go through all the speakers, and boom I found him here. Thank you for this message. I love you Elder Dieter F. Utchtdorf.
Remember this, the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the ONLY TRUE church upon the earth ( think about it)ask yourself Why this is. God is alive
Se tudo que Jesus Cristo se aproximou e tocou ele acalmou modificou transformou em nossas vidas ao se deparar com Ele pelo Seu poder e da Sua Expiação o que irá acontecer?
He says love of parent and child CAN be eternal. I struggle with this and I feel I have a good love and understanding for the gospel in the Lord. Of course not perfect but I do love and understand it. I just can't understand why it seems to be that for those who do not make it to the celestial kingdom, but love of the Lord, love their children, try to be good people and are good people but don't follow the gospel completely and don't make it to the celestial kingdom, will not have eternal relationships with their children? Or with our parents?
Is it just me or did anybody else wait with anticipation for a plane reference and was kinda disappointed there wasn't one? So many opportunities to inject a plane or pilot ancedote, but alas.
His talk hit my heart perfectly as a parent that I didn’t think once of a plane analogy. His talk today was on point and so needed for parents. We love our children so much and need guidance and instruction to where our focus need to be.
@@lasvegashula agreed! I actually loved his garden analogy because that's what really resonates with me and I was reminded of past spiritual lessons the Lord taught me in my garden that tied in beautifully with what Elder Uchtdorf taught in this talk, which was added confirmation that the personal revelation I had received was indeed from the Lord.

I was going through that facet, but yesterday quickly realized that I need to refocus after all my daughter is my everything 🐣
