Excited to see where this series goes. As someone who had to go to church until I was 17, and whose entire extended family on both sides is Mormon, it'll be interesting to see your perspective. My family is alright with me and most of my few relatives who left the church, we didn't get disowned, but that's a reality for many.
And yet when I go to other states I still feel out of place. The thing with Utah is it has the biggest Mormon population, but it also has the biggest ex-Mormon population, so in a weird way I still feel like I belong here.

For those of you complaining about Peter not pushing back on some Mormon beliefs- that’s not what his channel is.
He travels the country and gives a voice to different groups of people so the viewers can learn and make up their own minds.
This is why the channel is great and I hope it never changes.
Yeah hopefully he does a ex mormon interview for their side of things. Specifically a women would be insightful into the true nature of the church

@@tomaslekis3262 if you look at how many wars are justified by religion and adult people argue about who has the cooler invisible friend .... well. But I find it pretty telling about the Mormons and the Armish that they provide a full social system. Whether it's the hospital bills or a social cushion. The fact that these movements are bigger in America than in Europe I think is pretty significant.
Someone needs to get this kid a PR job. His ability to articulate clearly, with a positive bent, but not running away from issues is so impressive.
I could not agree more, just fantastic.
His acumen goes way beyond just a 'PR' mode. He possesses a high moral and ethical conviction, which is embedded in his character, for which a mere "PR" job, would be an insult! As he expressed in the interview, he wanted to be a historian at one point. Unless he's a "PR" for the LDS organization.

For real. I'm ex-Mormon with lots of criticism for the LDS church, and I'm so glad they found someone who is not only knowledgable, but also accurately represents orthodox Mormonism as it stands today.

Well he did conveniently leave out why Joseph Smith and the Mormons had to keep moving west. I’m sure the story is that all the fraud (like issuing his own bank notes) and crimes (like conspiracy to murder) are just fake. But the truth is they were trying to stay ahead of indictments and criminal proceedings.

I am a citizen of New Zealand and currently live in Australia and over the years have had interactions with Mormon missionaries.
They were always impeccably polite and respectful, they along with myself have their way of sharing their gospel and their faith. No one should look down or dismiss the views of others just because it’s not our own.
And if truth be told, our world would be a different place if we humans were to dedicate ourselves to sharing with others all that is good and honourable and deserving of respect.

I grew up in Salt Lake and the LDS church, but left the church when I was 16. Even though I don't practice this or any religion, I really like the way Brock represented his church, and everything he said rings true. I also really appreciate the way Peter listens and is so respectful, not trying to expose or degrade anyone. I just love your style Peter, you are amazing and I always look forward to more.

my story i quite similar to yours, while this does kinda make it feel like theyre saying theres ONLY mormons in utah but thats just definitely not the case, but i doubt that was what they were meaning to say, but apart from that i can tell you it is one of the reasons the state is so clean and safe, lots of efforts from the church and state to help the homeless. and while i may not be the most holy person i definitely feel like i have benefited as a person from it, it can kinda feel a little cultish at times but like 95% of the times everyone is super chill

As someone who left the LDS church and doesn't love everything about it, I have to say, this young man represents the church extremely accurately. Everything about this video is very much aligned with LDS belief and culture. One of the better representations I've seen on TH-cam. Good job, my friend.
Very much so. I grew up in a predominantly LDS town (I'm agnostic) and I've seen the church move mountains for members in need. It demands a lot, but I'd say the payoff is much better than any other large organized religion.

As someone who is active in the Church of Jesus Christ, who loves everything about it, I have to agree, This young man did an awesome job.
Many years ago our family lived in a small Idaho town that was comprised largely of LDS church members. When my parents (who were non-members) lost their 8 year old son, the community rallied behind them and offered a variety of help in the form of food and other assistance. I've been told there was no proselytizing involved, just help and support. I was only 2 at the time, but my parents spoke fondly and respectfully of that experience for the rest of their lives.
I live in a neighborhood that is primarily Mormon, And I’m not. They are some of the most loving and caring people, and have treated me like family. Have nothing but good to say for the church and members.
Mormons are salesmen, and obviously they will be good to people who they are detached from to keep a good impression. But, if you were raised in the church and leave they can be extremely mentally-abusive and narcissistic. You need to understand the context behind why people who know Mormon's surface-level often love them, but those who interact with them behind closed doors--or people who are in lower parts of the Mormon hierarchy are often abused by those higher in the hierarchy--then you would understand that Mormons (some not all) can have truly terrible and unkind sides to them--even if they can make good impressions from a distance to those who don't know their unkind sides.

You just did a great job, taking one sliver of an example and representing that as most of the Mormons. I have lived both sides of this tale, and you could not be further from the truth on this one. As in any church or organization, there’s always gonna be bad apples. That’s how people are. Mostly very good…but some can’t help being bad. The way you described it…seems like you could use that to characterize any focused group of religious people. Just a thought 😮
I've seen a lot more phoniness within Mormons than most other groups of people. I think it's the obsession with outer appearance and competitive nature within Mormons that's also found in most narcissistic people and is promoted by Mormon culture. I am a Muslim living in Salt Lake City, and I have found members of the LDS church one of the most humble and dedicated people ever. I have nothing but respect for them, especially their family-centered lives.
Doesn't really matter if a bunch of "enlightened/Freethinking" young guys and girls call it a dry or boring state as long as families can live comfortably here.
I feel like every Muslim I've worked with in Salt lake and pak have just aligned so well because of our shared family values.

What an incredibly wonderful interview. Brock was so kind and forthcoming. I am not LDS but live in a community with a large LDS presence. My interactions have always been good. They are always kind and caring.

You can be as pleasant to one's face as you'd like, but beneath that veneer is the judgment that the Mormon church thinks they're sinning and are going to hell (and would see them placed into conversion camps if allowed) and they know it. I wouldn't want to be in that environment.
2.6 million subscribers for Peter. Why? Most people despise the partisan media. Peter is authentic, kind and courteous too all, no matter their background, race, gender, political affiliation or religion.
You are right about authenticity. It is what I like on his videos too, but also longer interviews are a better way of getting to know people. So much more can happen in an hour and a half than 10 second video clip interviews.
Peter is THE BEST. He can break bread with anyone. That's what we love about him.

Brock is a fantastic young man. Very articulate. Polite. And focused on making the world a better place. When I lived out West this was always my experience and interaction with Mormons. I was grateful to have them as neighbors and employees.
I really enjoyed this study of the church. Two very nice, pleasant and civilised people, exploring history, different views and ideals. Brock was a wonderful ambassador for his lifestyle and church, and Peter was respectful and professional. Thanks for your time, both of you😊
I live in SLC and have to say it. This kid is arrogant. Mormons have perfected the art of passive aggressiveness and selective wording, so I get why people think he is a sweet articulate LDS, explaining his culture. Allow me to over explain.
He talks about a "tiktok trend" at BYU which mocks lds students, just for their "peculiar" beliefs.
What he is referring to, but won't be direct about, is a peaceful activist student group called the Black Menaces.
They ask students on campus questions about various social and political issues, like race, gender, and religious ideology.
He claims the questions "are all logical fallacy" (33 min) Not true. They Go look on their IG or TT to see for yourself. Most are subjective.
But to be clear, the students CHOOSE to respond and are fully aware that they are being recorded.
And NONE of them have said "your beliefs are invalid." As a reminder, people of color are the VAST MINORITY at BYU. And the state as a whole. But google who the Lamanites are in the Book of Mo.
It looks more like a white LDS man feeling threatened over a few poc students. He wants freedom to practice his religion, yet doesn't like their free speech. Classic.
And Mormonism is "high demand" bc it's about control and obedience. You know, like a cult.
Next, the interviewer is oddly prompting him with confirmation questions. (It seems like xyz is this way, right?)
Anyhow, he indicates ppl in Utah are so healthy and the environment is cared for. In part due to the religion's values. Utah "is better off than other places."

The LDS church hid 33 BILLION DOLLARS in various accounts under other bizz names. The intent was to hide their true wealth from the public.
Esp those paying their 10%. Like those on missions, who are often barely getting by bc paid for it themselves. How noble! Recruit for free, while thechurch has hundreds of billions saved for a "proverbial rainy day."

Meanwhile The church donates the bare minimum to charity, which to most sounds like a lot. A million here or there. But it's like .0001% of their worth. They exploit the poor all over the world.
At 26.30, he blames the 02 Olympics in for "outsiders" moving in, and increasing crime. That was over 20 years ago. And I found nothing that supports this claim. There were visitors, so crime clearly spiked for that time. Their LDS gvnmt chose to bid to host them.
And the church took full advantage to try to for new memberships. I thought this guy loves to share the love of Mormonism?!

I've met an alarming number of people who grew up in very mo families who have mental health issues, drug addictions, and who were not helped by the church. They were shunned and judged. Any crap therapy is like "pray more."
Not to mention church leaders trying to hide cases of sexual abuse from the public. Not calling authorities when Bishops raped their own kids. They are getting sued over it now.
The more controlling the religion on sexuality, the less sex education, and the more abuse occurs. The boy scouts too. The church and boy scouts were very closely connected until recently.
It's almost as if grown men bishops shouldn't be asking teens to explain IN DETAIL about a sexual act they performed/received. It's just disgusting, perverted, and should be illegal.
Which makes sense, with their "icky history" (17 mins) in mind. He's referring to their prophet Joseph Smith, who married up to 30 women/girls, including multiple 14 year old GIRLS. He was 36 YEARS OLD. But this guy here, (at 29 mins) is claiming they "dated" and it was consensual. While he married other men's wives. Sure it was. How can he even support that narrative. So gross!
And this "quiet" idea started when JS was caught cheating on his wife. This is in a page they don't talk about in the JS Papers, and is even omitted this page in the docs online.
At 19 mins It was NOT originally "used antagonistically by non mormons." They called themselves Mormons. They even had a campaign circa 2008 called "I Am A Mormon" with billboards all over various cities, and promo videos. They literally say "My name is ---, and I'm a Mormon!"
The Mormon to LDS switch is pure marketing. They are worried about their dwindiling numbers and want to be more appealing to Evangelicals.
The current church president Nelson is actually VERY AGAINST saying Mormon.
Look at speech from General Conference. (A big LDS meeting) It's on YT.
Another example of this new branding is google maps. They recently got rid of their Moronai icon (The dude blowing a horn) and replaced it w crosses.
A symbol that this kid even admits (22 min) they don't use. Ppl who grew up LDS will tell you how crazy that is.
At 31.30 when they talk about dating. And NCMO, why not also mention SOAKING? Mormons love their loopholes. And BYU students have sex, it's just not talked about openly. They also have a culture of snitching at byu, and Imo this guy seems totally like the type of worm who would tattle lol
God has a special bias to protect missionaries over everyone else in the world, ok. There's no way those white boys are going to the favelas of SP. You have to be invited for one. I've been. They are run by gangs. They also don't have money to pay tithing. To say ppl living in extreme poverty are thinking "the white shirts show their calling to god leave these white kids alone" is absurd. They can get caught in the crossfire if a turf war too.

Peter, you are IMO, the current best channel on TH-cam. It can be expensive and time consuming getting to meet so many cultures and people but you give every culture the chance to share their way of life for the rest of us to understand. I am not, nor ever will be LDS but this was fascinating and enlightening to see this young man's views of the world. Thank you for your work, please keep it coming.

As an ex-Mormon and Utah native, this was very respectful and great content. One thing I wanted to mention about missions, one reason the church spends such a huge amount of effort with such a small conversion rate is that they aren’t just converting new members, but the missionary themselves.
and the missionaries pay for it themselves on top of tithing so its a win win for the lds church

So, if we are being technical, they definitely do not pay for their whole missions... and a lot of missionaries don't pay anything.

Thanks Peter, as a 67 yr old in the UK watching your videos takes me back 44 yrs to 1979.I was a young kid with a rucksack a tent some clothes and pots, caught a plane to l.a, and hitched and caught greyhounds across the states for 6 months on my own, no mobile, no internet, no sat nav , just commen sense and treating people like I would like to be treated meant I had no hassle during that time...thanks for letting me sit in my armchair and relieve some memories...

Born and raised here in Utah. Even though I was raised in this culture and religion and my entire family continue to follow the church, I went my own way once I became an adult for my own personal reasons. This young man has a beautiful heart, and is a wonderful spokesperson for their religion. He did a great job explaining the actual religion.
Thank you for being polite and kind towards the Church even though you decided something else for your life. It seems like people who leave the church become extremely bitter and want the whole world to know about their pain.
I will admit I was bitter for a while, but then I grew up and realized that bitterness won’t get me anywhere in life, and that forgiveness towards those who hurt me, and being kind would get me further. There are some truly remarkable people on this planet, and looking for the good in people is a lot less energy consuming than trying to find the bad, let alone trying to convince others that a religion is “bad” because I had a bad experience.

My family left the church when I was 12. I loved growing up in the church and have many fond memories. The church really does help families who are struggling. Years after we left the church my Dad left our family and we were evicted. My mom reached out to our local ward; they paid our first 2 months of rent at a new place and they sent the young men to help us move!
The "church" was recently exposed for hiding billions in fraudulent shell accounts, and used tithing dollars to build the city creek center shopping mall in SLC. They are a corporation, not a church.

As a current member this kid gets it. Now I'm by far not the ideal member. I've even struggled to pay my tithing and I haven't been to church a lot because of financial struggles. ( I work most Sundays out of town)The bishop helped me pay rent multiple times and the church paid for more than half of my schooling to get a good job. I graduated school on last Friday and I'm just beginning to find a job but no matter how bad things get for me I'm always greeted with love and kindness. And that's truly a remarkable thing!

Although I know many people have different opinions on the church of LDS, my family’s experience interacting with Mormons has been positive. My family lived next to a very liberal family and a very Mormon family. We are Catholic and we all got along. We all had kids at the time. When my brother was little he would play with all of our little neighbors. The Mormon family had six kids. My Dad always said they were organized and very charitable. When I was a baby, I had to go to the hospital (due to a seizure) around Thanksgiving. The Mormon family (with their six kids) prepared a Thanksgiving meal and gave it to my family knowing that they wouldn’t be able to make one themselves because they’d be caring for me. Anywho, I just thought I’d share that because I know we’re all different, but we can still be kind to one another. I hope to hear more stories about us getting along like that here in America 🇺🇸

I grew up with Mormon neighbors and have nothing but good things to say. They are the single friendliest group of people you could ever encounter, as shown by this guide. I didn't (and still don't) understand some of the tenets of their faith, but they are incredible neighbors and friends.

I guess that all depends on where you live. Some areas, such as where I lived have their noses so high in the air they don't notice you until they decide they need to get you into their church. Once you say no thank you their noses go back up!

Lol Salt Lake does a great job of keeping up appearances, but trust me they are here, and if you want social services the government sends you to the church first because it's a big tax write-off.
We still have it. They are all bunched up to a very small area near the slc temple. Surprisingly it’s one of the most dangerous parts of Utah. Our suburbs are very clean. Some parts are degrading due to the out of state people moving in but overall we’re good

As someone who is not an LDS but am currently working in Idaho, I just have to say this young man definitely spoke well of his beliefs and the church. I have never felt safer in any community then here in Idaho. The people are sincere, kind, hardworking. When we have time they answer all the questions us non LDS folks ask. The religion is not forced on to us. Its just a warm welcoming conversation. There is lots of misinformation regarding the LDS. These folks have a sincere relationship with God and are living in the present. Im so thankful I came to work here and will be leaving with a greater more compassionate understanding of them. And while I wont be converting, I am enlightened by them.

As a biblically centered Christian, parts of this were difficult to watch and hear but I’m SO glad to have watched it and thank you Peter for making this content. Our world is so divided right now and our sense of kindness towards others is much improved when we take the time to listen and learn what they believe. I will never forget that some missionaries happened to come to my home a few weeks after my husband had passed. The day after I met them, I walked out on my front porch and it was simply plastered with postets with love and caring notes. I will forever remember that simple acts of kindness from people who had never met me .
I adopted my daughter from the Church but after 40 years, I dropped out. My daughter and 5 granddkids had no communication with me or her mother for ten years. My wife died and daughter never visited, while wife was sick. Lately I got a little more communication but it isn't the same because I am considered an apostate to all my former close friends and family.

I moved to North Salt Lake City for work a few years back. It was one of the most beautiful states I had ever been to. I also enjoyed living amongst the LDS community. Partly because I am a Christian and don't really care for things like bars, stripclubs, and gambling. But also because all of my LDS neighbors were always kind and friendly.
As a former/exmormon after 30 years in, I can honestly say this "guide" did an incredible job at showing and explaining things. He told no lies and even addressed some of the difficult topics. Kudos. And happy to see Peter in my home city.
I'm 2 minutes in and already lies. I was raised Mormon and I was a leader throughout my youth. After 30 years away and the facts being publicly available many claims like the "Missouri order to kill Mormons is false.
Ole Joseph Smith didn't want to give up his harem. I remember in the 70's they taught us polygamy was due to men dying while pioneering to Utah. I grew up in SLC area and met the Presidency and most of the rest of the leaders. Quorum of the 70s etc.. First time seeing the solid Gold oxen baptismal font it felt very uncomfortable. Against everything taught about evil worship to gold and riches. That was just minutes after meeting President Kimbal. Being Mormon is not going to assure anyone to get into heaven.

This was great to see. I’ve lived my whole life in and around the Salt Lake valley. I am not Mormon, or Christian for that matter. I think your comment about the church keeping Salt Lake clean is 100% correct. The church does so much for our community, and I think it’s very under appreciated. Wow thank you so much, as a member that grew up in the church , then went away for over a decade, I was very impressed by the conversation. You could not ask for such a warm hearted person. I love that I have turned my heart back to God and the teachings of Jesus Christ, I didn’t realize until I was having my first child at 33 how valuable the lessons and attitude of the LDS church. Now living outside of Utah with a family and I’m the minority religion I definitely stand out as a high intensity religious guy but I do have a nack to sit with people that have those old habits of mine, and show them that they are loved and people care for them despite the faults of being human. Great work on the video, will definitely keep watching more
I very much enjoyed this segment. Brock was open and honest and we got to see things "through his eyes". I also enjoy Peter's style of just letting people "be" and share who they are, what they think, how they see the world, etc.
This was fantastic. I had a friend growing up who was Mormon and never really understood it and would think to myself how weird some of the things they practiced were. It’s very fascinating to hear about it more in depth and to hear them denounce a lot of the stereotypes. I love the curiosity Peter brings to everything he does. Really helps them open up and speak honestly about everything.

As a member of this church, I have been so excited for this series! I feel like we're pretty misunderstood at times, so thank you so much for your respectful approach.
You’re not misunderstood, the members have a great misunderstanding of the church history and its truth claims.
Mormonism is unfortunately misunderstood by it's followers. Please look into the teachings of your church and how they do not line up with the original gospel and are downright goofy at times.
For example:
- Mormons believe in a Father and Mother God. There is no biblical evidence for this. It was made up by the Mormons in the last 200 years.
- You can become a God (blasphemy) and you earn salvation through works (also blasphemy)
- In 1852, Young proclaimed that black individuals were cursed with dark skin as a punishment for Cain's murder of his brother (insane and goofy).
- Mormons Believe in Eternal Marriage, which is contrary to what Jesus taught.
- Satan Controls Bodies Of Water (goofy)
- The Book of Mormon Says that Christ Ministered to the Whole World, which is not true. Christ clearly sent his disciples to be his witnesses to the world. There are no eyewitness accounts of this event, other than what was written down 18 centuries after it happened. While the original Bible was written down in the same century it happened by eyewitnesses.
- Mormons hold a belief that God was once a mortal man who attained godhood through righteous actions. This is totally wrong. God is eternal and was not a mortal man.
Please read the true, simple, original gospel. Mormonism is a false gospel.

I too, like many in the comments, am a member of the church. I served a mission in Arizona almost a decade ago now, and it was one of the best experiences I have had in my life. I shared the Gospel with a lot of individuals, some who decided to join the Church, and a greater number who didn't. Some of my favorite discussions were with members of different faiths, discussing our differences and sometimes our shared beliefs. Seeing the MTC brought back a lot of memories, although I didn't spend a lot of time on that main campus. When I was being trained to be a missionary was a few months after that age change that Brock mentioned. There were so many missionaries that they took over a couple apartment complexes further to the west, and housed/taught us over there.
I'm seeing a trend of making videos about other groups/cultures that people have a curiosity towards without having the intention of slander and I really love it. I wish more content creators would continue on this path and it's much appreciated. Better to be educated than operate in a world of heresay. The world definitely needs more cooperation and understanding than attacking each other's beliefs. Thank you!

As an active member, I was immediately drawn to this video. I was expecting some creative editing and slanted views. However, I watched this video and was so impressed I immediately watched one of the Amish videos. From what I’ve seen so far in these videos, I truly appreciate the honest curiosity and respect you show toward the different groups you film. There is no judgement just a sincere desire to learn and understand other peoples perspectives. It’s videos like these that break down barriers and help us see each other as people. As a non member this video has been very eye opening. As a non LDS Christian I’ve heard many things about the LDS church, some good, most bad unfortunately. I think that’s just a symptom of the unknown though. This has helped me understand the LDS church a lot more and has frankly made me very interested in learning more. NO trace of the great city Zarahemla- it would be impossible for a city the size of Zarahemla (Alma 5:2; D&C 125:3) to leave no trace.
NO trace of Jewish dna found in any Indian burial ground anywhere in the Americas from time period of BOM. Thomas W. Murphy, (Mormon scholar, DNA researcher):“We are in a dilemma, the genetic evidence shows that American Indians are not Hebrews, they are not Israelites. The Book of Mormon is not true.” John Whitmer Historical Association Journal 2005
NO temple like Solomon's described in 2 Nephi 5:16 has ever been found yet biblical temple is easily seen in Jerusalem. If the temple Nephi describes ever existed it could not disappear.
NO Nephite "reformed Egyptian" writings ever found anywhere as it is not a real language anywhere in the world.
NO cities mentioned in the BOM have ever been located (none of 38) anywhere. It would be impossible for them to disappear unless they never existed.
NO evidence: "The whole land was covered with buildings, and the people were as numerous, as it were the sand of the sea." Yet not one ever located. (Mormon 1:7) IMPOSSIBLE for highly advanced civilizations (Jaredites, Nephites) & MILLIONS of people to have vanished.
The BOM speaks of sheep, swine, silk, wool clothing & elephants existing in the Americas when they did not. 1 Ne.13:7; Alma 4:6; Ether 9:17 and 10:24 These were brought to America centuries later by Europeans.
NO wheat, no goats, no metal smelting furnaces, no metal armor, no steel swords, no cattle, no chariot parts, no brass (Mosiah 8:10) no evidence of the listed Kings in BOM, no Jewish relics or Jewish Temples from supposed Jews, no metal plates like Nephites supposedly used, no middle eastern seeds growing, "which were brought from the land of Jerusalem ... and grew exceedingly" 1 Nephi 18:24
There is NO archaeological, anthropological, topological, linguistic, botanical or dna evidence to support the Book of Mormon. LDS anthropologist Dee Green: “The first myth we need to eliminate is that BOM archaeology exists” conceding 20 years of research “left us empty-handed” (Green 1969 p. 77)
CAN WE IGNORE THE LACK OF EVIDENCE FOR THE THE BOOK OF MORMON AND JUST TRUST OUR HEARTS AS TO THE TRUTH OF IT EVEN THOUGH IT CONFLICTS WITH THE BIBLE? NO!
D&C Section 9:8-9 - tell us that if something is true it will make our "bosom burn" and we will FEEL that it is right. Maroni 10:4 says: "he will manifest the truth of it unto you"
The Bible warns us against this subjective type of truth test. Why? Because we have a sinful nature that can be deceived. Proverbs 28:26 "He that trusts in his own (bosom) heart is a FOOL."
The Scriptures, however, are infallible and can never be wrong (John 17:17; Psalm 119:128; 33:4; 19:8; Romans 3:4).
This is why the Bible frequently urges us to study and meditate on God's word. 2 Timothy 2:15 KJV "STUDY ... rightly dividing the word of TRUTH." Acts 17:11 "EXAMINE THE SCRIPTURES to see if what said is TRUE". 1John 4:1 says: "BELIEVE NOT EVERY SPIRIT, ... because MANY FALSE PROPHETS have gone out into the world."
Mormonism claims the bible was corrupted to justify Joseph Smith's changing of the biblical, eternal God into an evolving, created god, who is not all powerful and is one of an endless number of gods . However, this is a PROVABLY FALSE claim.
The Claim: In the BOM, the prophet Nephi has a vision the Bible was corrupted and "plain and precious parts" were removed after the 12 apostles and after the formation of the “great and abominable church” (1 Nephi 13:26-29). Most Mormons believe this is the Catholic Church formed in the 4th century. Nephi claims this church was founded by the Devil (1 Nephi 14:3). So let’s objectively examine the Bible & BOM.
BIBLE: The Dead Sea Scrolls have been dated to as early as 350 BC. One is the Great Isaiah Scroll, which is the oldest known copy of the Book of Isaiah dated to 180 BC.
Do ANY ancient scrolls show Smith's "uncorrupted" version of scripture? NO! Yet they would if the scripture was later corrupted after the 12 apostles died as Smith and Nephi said.
Also, if they had been corrupted, Jesus would have corrected scripture instead of affirming it! Jesus sd:“ I told you EVERYTHING written about me in the Law of Moses, the Books of the Prophets, and in the Psalms had to happen.” (Luke 24:44-46)
Scripture is the same today as it was 2,100+ years ago with only minor spelling and punctuation differences. Joseph Smith was wrong. These scrolls pre-dated Catholics, and are Jewish scrolls and the BOM says the Jews had the Scriptures in their "purity". 1Nephi 13:25
LDS Apologist Wayne Ham admitted the Isaiah scroll does not support the the BOM. Apologist Dr. Sidney B. Sperry, of BYU, said the Dead Sea Scrolls do not help the case for the BOM. BYU Professor Joseph F. McConkie: "Rather than Joseph Smith as Found in Ancient Manuscripts, it ought be Joseph Smith as Lost in Ancient Manuscripts.” (Religious Studies Center, 1984)
IS THE GOD OF THE BOOK OF MORMON THE SAME ONE AS IN THE BIBLE? NO! In the LDS Church’s 147th Conf., Gen Authority Bernard P. Brockbank said: the Christ followed by Mormons is NOT THE CHRIST followed by traditional Christianity. (Ensign, May 1977 p. 26)
"Before me NO god was formed, nor shall there be ANY after me.” (Isaiah 43:10) If Mormonism is true, then God could not make this claim, for he was just a man at one point; nor could he claim that no gods would come after him, for that is the goal of LDS members.
Like Joseph Smith, this was the goal of Satan, to be like God and have worshipers. "I will exalt my throne above the stars of God ... I will be like the Most High”’ (Isaiah 14:12-14)
The new testament has not been corrupted either. See the book of John. Smith changed it to make Jesus a created being. Research a 1900 year old papyri known as the Bodmer Papyri of the book of John. (written 150 AD, around the Apostle John's time)

And the GOSPEL was the word, and the word was with the Son, and the Son was with God, and the Son was of God." Smith's Jesus is no longer God in the flesh but the biblical Jesus is: "God was manifest in the flesh" 1Tim. 3:16 KJV
There are 4,000 Greek manuscripts of the New Testament. Some go back to 350 AD and NONE support Joseph Smith's claims that the bible of today has been corrupted.
Papyrus fragments exist of the New Testament dated to 175 AD and show that the new testament has NOT been "corrupted". (New Testament Docs: Are They Reliable? Grand Rapids: Eerdmans, 1967 pp. 15-17)
The manuscript and archeological evidence for the BIBLE is the GREATEST in antiquity. I pray you know the true Jesus and not Joseph Smith's exalted man from another planet who is not eternal, not all powerful, not perfect but evolving, and was polygamous.
God is much greater than the humanoid of Mormonism and NOT just ONE OF AN ENDLESS NUMBER OF EVOLVING GODS.
Jesus said ALL scripture will NOT fade away but "many wolves in sheep's clothing" will come trying to add to the word. Mathew 7:15 Joseph Smith changed Jesus, the Father and taught you can become a GOD.
It hurts my heart to see Mormons fall for the lie that we can become God when there is only one eternal God found in the bible.

Apostle Orson Pratt, in The Seer, page 172, “the great Messiah who was the founder of the Christian religion was a Polygamist…the Messiah chose to take upon himself his seed; and by marrying many wives, … The son followed the example of his Father"
God gave us critical thinking & logical reasoning for a reason, which is why he does tell us to EXAMINE and TEST what we are being taught for TRUTH. The bible withstands the truth test. Joseph Smith's version fails the truth test. It's your eternity, study it for yourself. God bless.

I just was in Salt Lake City for the first time. My youngest son has moved there. It is an amazing place. I was completely won over. I'm an East Coast person. Live in very congested Virginia. SLC was so peaceful and beautiful. The people are amazingly kind and warm. I was hoping my son would come back east, but I feel good about him being there now. It's safe and friendly. The cost of living is outrageously expensive. I worry about that.
I'm not Mormon, and I loved learning more about them and their beliefs just as I do anything else Peter covers in his videos. It's easier to cast people aside when you choose to disregard their point of view of the world.

This was such an awesome video! I especially loved the section about missions and missionaries, and the newfound respect that Peter expresses here. I served a mission as a young woman in my early 20’s in Mexico. I remember opening my mission call and seeing that I would be serving near the US/Mexico border and I was filled with fear, thinking I was going to experience violence or even be killed on my mission. I didn’t express this fear to my mom, but the next morning she woke up and told me that she had a dream that the people of Mexico were going to love me. I was comforted by my mom’s dream and received my own feelings of peace that everything would be ok as well. I ended up serving my full 18-month mission (it’s shorter for female missionaries) and coming home safe and sound - and speaking Spanish fluently. I am now a Spanish teacher and I love the language so much. Being able to communicate with Spanish-speakers from all over the world is a great joy to me, and I will forever be grateful for the 18 months that I served a mission as it has blessed my life by just teaching me the language alone.
I am a member now, and attending BYU. I was honestly really impressed at how civilized it was. I think there’s often people, member or not, who will try and force the other into believing they are right or wrong. So cool, thanks!

As a LDS, I think this was an excellent representaiton of the culture and faith. I'm not from Utah, I'm a convert, got baptized in NYC when I was 13. I'm in my 30's now and still strong in my faith, served a mission and everything. Good job Peter, love your videos!

I'm personally atheist, but growing up in Orange County, CA there was always a healthy population of Mormons around me in school. They were always some of the kindest and most helpful people around. I don't care if you're Dem or Repub, race, anything, just be kind and that will get you far

I am not LDS but one of my best friends in the world is LDS. His family is deeply rooted in the Provo area. My family and I got to spend about a week out there with him and we have met soooo many LDS people. I will say this much... I have NEVER met a nicer and kinder group of people anywhere! They live their lives with such a deep conviction of their faith that it is quite admirable.
I personally got very sick during the whole covid thing in 2021 and the local LDS Bishop and his wife showed up to my home delivering food every day...helping my family. It was absolutely incredible.
I love the lack of judgement that they have, too.
My wife and I always stop and talk to the missionaries when we see them out and about. I always encourage them and tell them they are doing a great job! I cannot imagine how difficult it is for them!!
Beautiful people and beliefs FOR SURE!! Just doesn't align with everything I believe...but I love everything about them!

I am sure your friend is not judging you, however I would bet all the money I have that the majority of the others are judging you, at least in Utah. But it’s ok because they’re going to pray that the Lord will soften your heart to be open to the
message and the Holy Spirits prompts will led you to the gospel……………. Utah Mormons are different, elsewhere they probably don’t judge others like that.
At least that was what I’ve been a part of and experienced both as a member and not, in Utah and out of the state.
There is a lot of good info out there. One good documentary is called, "DNA vs Book of Mormon", and "Test of a Prophet: Bible Vs. Joseph Smith" are worth a watch.

I’ve lived in salt lake for 10 years now. I’m not Mormon, but I’ve come to love them. I feel bad for them when they’re exposed to normies who are unfamiliar with their culture and religion. It seems like it’s perfectly acceptable in our culture to ridicule all the odd things in their religion while the same culture would call you anti semitic for ridiculing the oddities in Judaism. They’re good people… that’s all that matters to me.

I have a tough time when their politicians pass laws that limit the freedom of non believers. The liquor laws in Utah are regrettably reminiscent of prohibition.
I live in Utah and getting alcohol is not a problem. You can buy any liquor at the state liquor stores (like many states). You can buy beer up to 5% at any grocery store. There are plenty of bars too. Hardly reminiscent of prohibition@@solomongabert6776
I grew up Mormon and went my own direction. It was pushed on my too hard. But it does have a great sense of community and good morals to live by. Something this current world very much needs! This was a great interview and this young LDS man did a great job explaining. Utah is definitely changing with all the big tech companies and Covid bringing a lot of people in from out of state. On one hand, it’s bringing more night life and fun events. On the other it’s bringing more crime and over crowding in nature and on the freeway etc. And driving up home prices, and rent.
I am a Mormon that lives in Salt Lake County and works at a tech company in Provo near BYI. I was hesitant watching this series because so many bash my belief. This video was done well and will hopefully help people understand the LDS religion and culture.

I’m not particularly religious but everyone I’ve ever met from the LDS church has been very much like this young man. I’ve spent a lot of time hiking in in Utah and it truly is one of the most beautiful states in my opinion.
