  • In this video I cover how I build and install a custom made kitchen unit comprising of a Thetford Topline 922 2 burner gas gob, a square sink with a Comet microswitched tap and submersible pump, an Adventure 12v compressor fridge, gas bottle storage and as much storage as anyone would ever need (see links below for items used). The custom campervan kitchen unit build is built for aVauxhall Vivaro campervan conversion and is custom made to fit the conversion. When the campervan kitchen unit build is complete, it offers a great alternative to the usual Smev/Dometic usual combined hob and sink unit and gives that custom build look to the conversion.

    For such a small van, there's a nice amount of storage 👍

      Yes there's more storage than would ever be needed for a camping trip

      @@TheCampervanBuilder Even on three week trips, my van is only ever half full storage wise. I guess I was always used to backpacking. I think that van you're doing now would even do a full timer...I don't see why not 👍

    Maybe you could demonstrate more slowly and explain how you fix the framework to the van itself. That’s something I would need to learn. I think your kitchen is the best I have seen yet!

      The kitchen unit internal frame is made from CLS 2x4 timber and that is secured and screwed to the van floor and the internal side ply panels (which are screwed to the internal frame metalwork), I also have other similar kitchen builds on my channel that might show it in more detail

    Good video, but I can see someone catching clothing or something else on those cupboard catches, they stick out a fair way.👍

      yes it might occasionally catch, but I like how they look and the ply is too thin for concealed locks etc

    I do like it but thinking there is very little kitchen worktop space when cooking on the 2 burners?Maybe something to go over the sink when not in use to give a bit more worktop space? But another great video . Well done 😀

      A chopping board could always be used over the sink if required, but I think there's plenty of prep space, certainly for what I'd cook while camping anyway

      @@TheCampervanBuilder love this video you could do the combo van and turn that into a camper van

    Getting there and a nice vid showing anyone how it was achieved - very unlike a lot that waste so much vid showing their fat cats or dogs every week to bulk them out.

      I try not to bulk out my videos, this could have been twice as long as there's 5 hours of footage trimmed down to 20 minutes

      Screwed to the plywood floor and side panels, which are screwed to the van chassis

    How do you attach any units / cupboards to the walls / sides??? I've not found a video yet explaining this part of any build....

    • @TheCampervanBuilder
      @TheCampervanBuilder  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The internal frame gets screwed to the plywood floor and ply side panels, which are screwed to the floor of the van and the internal beams of the chassis

      A local independent DIY/timber merchant, it's where I've bought most of my paneling for the conversions as they can be a fraction of what B&Q charge at times
