but I`m Halford fan as well. The thing is that Tim fit those 2 albums perfectly while others belong to Rob deservedly... In fact it would be super nice to clone Judas Priest members and make 2 bands: 1 with Ripper, another one with old buddy Halford. Can`t say the same about Blaze period in Iron Maiden history
Ripper is the only guy I know that can sound like the actual studio singer in his live performance. Even the original singers have a hard time matching their studio versions.
BlackMesaSecurity Indeed brother. He did a great job filling in for Halford, and was fucking killer with ICED EARTH. Thanks for ur input brother...ROCK ON!! \>sj~13
I'm sorry - I said this in a previous comment. But I don't know if half the people listening to this know how unbelievable this is. I can't tell which is more awesome: Ripper or the band.
the concept that someone would cover King Diamond vocals is incomprehensible to me. I mean, I'm not even sure that King Diamond can sing King Diamond that damn well when it's live.
I only knew Tim doing fill in for Halford and a few covers.. I just now came across this and was "if he can hit those high notes, holy shit." WELL, HOLY SHIT!! All hail Tim "Ripper" Owens!
I agree he took farther than King Diamond did but I thought King Diamond did great on his own song but the way Ripper did this sent shivers down my spine. It was great he was blowing out hot metal flakes through all the high pitched screaming
Tim is fucking amazing. I love hearing Tim. Real good guy as well. I hope he get a main gig singing some where soon. I went to school with his daughter. They are some amazing people. Good hearted. Hard working people
Uhhhh, no. The Kings and Halfords of this world sing exactly how they want to and the Rippers of the world cover their songs. It's like the high school kid who can play eruption note for note. Very impressive - VERY impressive - but ultimately it's imitation.
@@ryanmaxwelll2730 Halford and King are not on the same level of vocalist. King is carried by his amazing band and songwriting but his vocals on their own are like a parody of heavy metal singing
I've dumb stupid shit but this is clearly the dumbest. "Oh he is using falsetto, his vocals are weak" You don't have no clue about what you are talking about, right 🧐
@@ryanmaxwelll2730 lol you didn't get it. nobdoy disputes the legendary people that wrote it. the point is that this guy can perform these vocals on a level they would never be able to and that makes him a legend just as well. In terms of metal screaming, most people know the Ripper
I don't think people really appreciated the power and range Tim had (has). He just crushed it while in Judas Priest and since. This is not a good cover..it's exceptional. One of the best covers I have ever heard by any band ever.
This is the first time that I've heard this version..(I realize it's been around for awhile now) Wow! I don't know who is more impressive, Tim or the band !!! Suffice to say, this kicks ASS !!!
Yeah, he could be perfect as a King Diamond replacement. If anyone could do it anyway, its him. Different style vocally, but Ripper nails it in his power style, which is fucking amazing. Diamond is so weird falsetto-type style, but it works amazingly in his band.
This is just as gnarly as King Diamond's version. I can't say one is better than the other, they're completely different animals. But the lineup here is basically the greatest power-metal cover band ever assembled!
The Ripper is unparalleled in two things: vocals and air-punching.
Damn right.
just saying though his air guitar is legit
Can't beat Chuck Billy's Air Guitar craving...He feels naked if he doesn't play it.
@Sean Mac It explains a lot!
@Sean Mac From a Ripper fan... That is absolutely the greatest TH-cam comment ever. Thank you for that.
It's 2020 and this is still the greatest cover of all time.
2021
Hell yeah
Agreed. 2021 now and still, agreed. 🤘
No falsetto either!
And I m watching this in 2022 … still awesome ..
I don't know how the Ripper is not more popular among metal heads. This guy's a beast on vocals.
It's cause people blame him for Demolition sucking, even though he did literally nothing wrong and KK Downing just wrote a bad album.
Black Sword Entertainment
Hell is Home
Lost & Found
In Between
Cyberface
Great songs
I like the whole Demolition and Jugulator as well, can`t understand why people don`t like it.
Anti Phase
Halford fanboys just won't accept Tim.

Tim with Jeff Waters and James Murphy on the same stage playing freaking Abigail! It doesn't get better than that.
How is Tim Ripper Owens not huge? He deserves to be in a band and be recognized as a great vocalist.
Ahora kk's priest 🤘🏻 grande Ripper
That laugh at 1:51 is the most epic thing I've ever heard

That's true bro
idk man, King sounds the exact fuckin same in concert bow as he did in the studio back in ‘88
@@joeyuzwa891 King Diamond is still awesome.
Blackie Lawless of W.A.S.P might be up your alley then
We used to see him in the local club scene. He's an awesome guy. I'm glad he made it to his dream of being the singer for priest.
Most underrated (or unknown) metal vocalist of this century (so far) :D
King Bugs *coughs* Matt Barlow
So true
@@burningbeard3451 Barlow is the Voice of Iced Earth e every Metalhead knows It but Ripper still underrated (and Tim was on Iced Earth too)

great voice
Vincent Campbell...indeed he does...sj~13

They all fucking nailed this.
@@sargerobo5792 and he's not just singing it falsetto like King does, he's full on singing/screaming it and on top even distorted. what a boss
I'm very happy not to know this Ripper character since he obviously due to his demeanor and clothing isn't a metal guy
The best Ripper vocals ever! In fact he's probably one of the best vocalists that can carry a high pitch scream! Ripper rules!

You should have heard him in Iced Earth.
Or even better in his first band Winters Bane. Heart of a Killer is such an under rated album. Check it out. The guy will pulverize ur brains
Ripper is actually one of the very best vocalists out there. When I first heard him sing, I gotta say, I was blown away!
Man Ripper can sing anyone. He is truly bad ass!
I'd love to see the Ripper and King Diamond do a duet !!!
Wow, this is the greatest King Diamond cover I've ever heard! And it's live! Excellent!
Wow, Ripper's actually singing the high notes as opposed to the falsetto that King does. Huge difference it makes!
I wish more people sang King songs like how Ripper sings.
it’s probably because most people with that STUPID of a range can only hit those notes with falsetto
True Muntaz.
Awesome vocals

I am her head, soon i'll be....FREEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!! what a powerful high pitch ending note!
I never thought I would hear a good King Diamond cover but holy shit this rocks. Band nailed it too.
King Diamond is a LEGEND!!!Who better than the RIPPER to sing it ! I'm dying to hear Them do a song together!
"Them"? I see what you did there. Well done!
He is awesome he has done a lot of great music I would really like to see some of the British steel stuff from his old club days
the ear ripper owens!!! BRUTAL high notes
What an amazing version. It's just unbelievable what the ripper can do with this song.
HOLY CRAP!!! Ripper is INSANE.
I still think Jugulator is not only one of Priest's best releases, but one of the best metal albums of the 90's.
Tim Ripper Owens-um dos melhores vocalistas do MUNDO!!!!!!
Tim es de los pocos que pueden interpretar canciones de tan alta complejidad vocal.
Claro que el maestro King Diamond es inigualable!🤘😎

Well hey Judas Priest chose him for a reason. Those albums weren't up to their standard but the vocals were pretty impressive
Now that I mention it I can kind of hear a bit of Rob Halford in his screams
+Bon Simpson - Ya a bit... that's why he got the boot from the Priest so quickly...
he got the boot cause rob cant do it byhimself
